I love the Hindus and Sikhs, they both have very caring communities also caring people,I've lived next to hindus and they would offer us food and the shop on the corner of my street is run by Sikhs and if you're skint they will let me grab the basics and tobacco if needed and will pay them off when i get paid 5:10 he's right about African people, they arent good people they are really like that here in the UK

A lot of immigrants who had skills in demand, after 5, 10 years decided to go back where they came from due to cost of living vs income. Housing for example in Canada is steep. Some left for USA, better pay, lower housing costs. Those that do not have skills in demand, having a job, it's pay is worth the cost of living pain.

She didn't work in her field for 1 1/2 year as a new migrant. TELL US. How long should we pay for immigrants to live and not work for. She's saying 1.5 years is not enough. As a Canada who speaks both French and English and who follows politics quite closely, I have to say that the headline and some of the reporting here is quite misleading. A reduction in immigration has broad support across Canada. I wouldn't say that notion is dividing the country in any significant way. You do have certain industry groups that disagree, but among the population these reductions have broad support. This is a historic change in public opinion in Canada, but it has been driven by the unprecedented increase in immigration under the last term of the Trudeau government. To put this in context, non-permanent residents in Canada numbered around 1.5 million on Q3 2023, but by Q3 2025, that number sat a just over 3 million. The previous government increased immigration targets by 3 or 4 times over what they had been for years, which caused a number of economic issues. Essentially, the volume was simply too high for the economy and society to support. This was unfair to both Canadians and new comers, many of which could not find employment or afford a decent place to live. The changes being suggested are largely bringing Canada back to what the targets were for over a decade before, though a bit lower to account for the sudden surge. Canada remains one of the most pro-immigration countries in the world. However, and this is where I think DW's reporting is misleading, there is a distinction to be made between policies at the federal level and policies at the provincial level. Immigration, per our constitution, is a federal matter, however, Quebec in particular is distinct from other provinces. I don't mean only culturally and linguistically, but also in the powers that have been devolved to it by the federal government. On the question of immigration, Quebec has more powers and more ability to set its immigration targets and programs than any of the other 9 provinces. The particular program discussed here, the Quebec Experience Program (PEQ), is a particular immigration stream that only existed in Quebec. So what is happening with that program cannot be labeled as a whole-of-Canada thing. Where the changes to the PEQ are controversial, unlike the general changes at the federal level, is that people who immigrated under that specific program were promised certain things. There was a multi-year time line to Permanent Residency and then Citizenship. Many of those people have been in Quebec for 5-8 years already. However, the changes made to the program were done in such a way where people who many years into the program, had gotten an education, started a career, had children, ect. are now being told they can't continue and must leave Canada. There are even stories of people who married Canadians, now have children, and the one parent who was under this program now faces the possibility of having to leave Canada and be separated from their family. All through no fault of their own. That is what many people see as unfair, and I agree, however limiting future applications under the program, to bring in less people, that is not controversial. Canada has no responsibility to bring in people who are not already in Canada, but Canada does have some responsibility towards people who uprooted their lives to move to Canada and built new lives here based on promises and representations made to them by the Canadian and Quebecois governments. We should no simply kick those people out of the country.

I live in a city called Chilliwack, in BC. In the last 5 years I almost don’t recognize the city I grew up in anymore. The demographics have flipped. Entire plazas are now Indian food restaurants or pizza places, all owned and staffed them by. It used to be every fast food place here was staffed by teenagers or retired seniors, now virtually every single fast food place is staffed by a 30-50 year old foreigner. During the covid BS, they kept aggressively pumping in more and more of them. You go up to cultus lake in the summer, or Harrison Lake and it is like you walked into India. They blast their crappy music on stereos while 30 of them sit on a blanket, littering, starring. We had to get up and leave our spot at the beach last summer because 5 of them (men) came to sit behind us and they all just stared at us. It’s like the ones they’re pumping in have zero concept of first world norms. No self awareness, and no desire to inter-grate into our society and learn our language. It’s unbelievable what has happened, what our politicians are doing.

I'm glad Tyler is more or less neutral in his findings. It's true, many Indian's have come to Canada and I'm sure many do wish for a better life. Canadians understand this, but the methods the government of Canada is doing to push the numbers too high and too quickly is what's surprising to many. It's the accountability of the government that should be under scrutiny. If immigration was moderate and consistent, the social issues would not be as rampant, but social media loves stir the pot. This is also happening while Canada's housing infrastructure is crumbling, healthcare is deteriorating and general cost of living in Canada has skyrocketed and priced many Canadians out of simple living and enjoyment. Im in kingston ontario and quality of life is plummeting because of immigrants. Quiet streets are now loud, cars parked up and down every street because Indians live 8 guys in one house--- garbage left out for weeks loud music and fireworks til 3am--- on weekdays. Cars been hit twice in past 5 years-- both Indians. Indians work everywhere--so, service quality everywhere you go has dropped severely---- community isn't a community anymore.

I live approximately 45 minutes from the Canadian border where the agent was murdered by the cultist. From there, there are so many people constantly trying to get across the border. This infuriates me knowing this happens. We had maybe 5 recent acquisitions of Indian people setting up and ruining successful gas stations and pop up smoke shops in my town allowing minors to freely browse and buy products. They keep to themselves because the people around here understand their predatory ways of selling and how gross they naturally are. I'm disappointed and I don't like them. I accept humans but I don't accept someone who can't wash their hands nor maintain a clean image morally and professionally. As a Canadian i just wanna say we love immigrants, ask any Canadian we love fillipinos more than other Canadians. East Indians are rude, dirty and hate our people. They deserve every bit of hate they get and i cant wait until Canadians finally send them all home. Not to mention they live like complete animals 5-10 of them in a 2 bedroom apartment (ive seen it with my own eyes delivering furniture). Tbh its alot more saturated than you would think, I live in B.C and do alot of uber deliveries, 2400 alone last year. Id say 70% of the people in houses, and some really nice houses are Indian. Also most fast food restaurants are run by indian managers and staff, I was in a KFC the other day that had 1 younger white male at the counter, and 5 punjab behind the counter. The workers were all yelling at eachother about orders in their language and the white guy looked so confused. English is the first language in Canada so it should be learned especially when it comes to a business context, does our government care tho? Nope.

They are overpopulating my area too. When I walk around my Costco, there have been times where there are Indians in every single direction I look, as far as I can see. I'm not even exaggerating. If I forgot where I was, I would think I was in India. There are so many Indian restaurants around me. The area I live in is actually a nice newly built area (over the past 5 years.) It wasn't like this when I first moved to this area.

If a 3000 sq ft home has 3 generations living then that would easily be anywhere from 5-12 people depending on the number of children or sibling the earning member(s) have. The only problem is when these homes are converted to rooming units. I'm no expert, but it's obvious that mass immigration is detrimental to any country. Years ago, Canada seemed like a dream country, but in the last few years, it looks like the homelessness, crime etc. has increased and the housing prices are insane. I have a Sikh friend who lived there for about 5 years but moved back to India due to the high cost of living and quality of life there going downhill. He has a much better, low stress life back home. I think there should be stricter measures to immigration. For example: Let doctors, nurses, engineers, lawyers in more easily, but those that are coming as students and going to work as cashiers, should be limited.

Also, for those watching who have never lived in Canada, here's a fun little experiment you can try: Go to Radio Garden and go to Brampton's radio stations. Try to find a station in English or French (The official languages of Canada). You may or may not notice a pattern. At the time of writing this, out of 6 stations, 5 of them are indian or punjabi.

My car has been broken into atleast 20 times in 5 years and 3 months ago a older Indian man broke into our house and was wearing my sister's clothes sleeping in her bed. The population comment by the Pakistani isn't 100% accurate. Sure immigration plays a big role, but undeniably the South Asians still care about having kids and forming a strong family. In my school, most students just want to enjoy life, have kids in the far future, and they don't really care about family ties like these cultures do. They'll be tight with their parents but barely know their cousins or uncles. They'll be in their late 30s finally looking to get married and have kids, which is just not realistic biologically. 45 is the average age for menopause, and you see symptoms of menopause happen before then. Not rare to see a woman get perimenopausal symptoms at age 40. Meanwhile these Asians get married "young" (normal age back in the day), and they plan their future around their family's growth. Can't really blame it on immigration when other nations like Japan and Korea don't see a huge immigrant population from South Asia and still show insanely low birth rates for the locals, because they follow the secular societal standard of having one kid so you can enjoy life. South Asians could be living in a shack and still have 5 kids. We make fun of that in the west, and now our population is on a nosedive.

The tuition freeze in Ontario caused colleges and universities to treat foreign students as an ATM to balance their budgets. Foreign enrollments skyrocketed, especially in colleges, with students paying top dollar for dubious degrees with no job prospects. This put strains on the job market, and the housing/rental market. As an educated Indian-American who now lives in Canada, it pains me to see my fellow countrymen dominating Uber, Uber Eats, Bicycle food delivery and Tim Hortons. No one uproots everything in their home country and comes all the way for this. Most of these people are here legally and they work really hard. A last word - leaving aside the Khalistan issue that has caused a wedge between Hindus and Sikhs - the Indian diaspora, especially the Sikh, are amazing in the amount of charitable work that they do. Their concept of seva is unmatched. No one goes hungry when there is a Gurdwara around, as there is always free nutritious food. Same is true for temples. Even a young poor Steve Jobs ate at Iskcon temples. Last point - while some of Canada's problems are because of excessive immigration, Canada would be nothing without immigrants. The population would decline, with a native fertility rate of under 1.4, and entitlement programs would be in deep trouble.

I grew up with integration that I LOVED, met people from all over the world. I've been working since I was 14 I've worked for people from all over the world , rented from different people since I was 18 and learned great things I can add to my construction or cooking repertoire that you could possibly couldn't learn in the West without diversity. BUT now we have a group of people coming here buying up businesses while only hiring people from their country buying up single homes putting up crammy 8 plexus, and only renting to people from their home country. I'm a Canadian, I was born here, who knows what generation Canadian I am - my ancestors were here long before Canada was a country, later they fought for the British (one naughty son fought for the "rebels" americans and was in jail for 5 years), the monarchy granted them 100 acres in the Niagara region which was farmed by a line of my family until the 1980s when the last of that direct line sold which is tragic. blah blah - Canadian. ANYWAY - I love other people, other cultures, every immigrant that spoke in this video I welcome with open arms, would befriend, share a meal with etc. I grew up working with many people from Pakistan and India who were escaping really scary situations, worked their butts off to be part of this country, learn the language, save for a home - live a safe and happy life. I worked since I was 14, (A lot of times evenings and weekends, several times, two jobs)! I am now 63, I got hurt at work! First I had to fight compensation for a year, ZERO $$$! Then I had to apply to get Disability Canada Pension because I can't physically work anymore.. (damaged back, head injury, I have to use a cane and knee braces to walk)! I spent my savings just surviving while being forced to fight for MY money from my own government for 5 years just to get a measly $300. a month! THAT'S IT! Luckily my spouse works , we paid off our house ten years ago! But, we still barely get by! Every person I speak to about my case with the government on the phone, can barely speak English and yell at me or are VERY impatient with me, because I can't understand THEM, they usually hang up! When I ask to please speak to someone IN Canada, they hang up, then I have to wait another hour to talk to someone else! (I went to 4 government funded agencies to see if I could possibly get a job working from home, because I have trouble getting out! All sent me somewhere else! One agency who is supposed to help disabled people in WPG, REES, the agent refused to talk to me or look me in the eye, * he got a supervisor to talk to me! Because he's Muslim and I'm Gay! They were continuously hostile/aggressive towards me without reason??? I volunteer at 2 different food banks , I've met TONS of people who have never worked a day in their lives, their family, parents, grandparents have never worked... EVER! Yet they have brand new trucks??? Still go to food banks? AND, several new Canadians who I've met, have never worked a day in Canada... Some with new cars??? Yet everyone else receives 10 times what I receive to live on??? I PAID TAXES ALL OF MY LIFE! We can't afford a car! Yet... I don't blame them! I would take it they offered! I blame our government (NDP, Libs, AND CONservatives) who don't give a crap about disabled and seniors in Canada! We are being taken over by immigrants, and we aren't allowed to say anything about it, or we are called racists. It's so unfair! I live in Victoria, BC. In the past 5 to 7 years, the streets are packed, you can barely drive around in Victoria. No new roads or transportation of any kind, yet so many more new people.

I'm pretty much exactly where that lady in the car is at. Enough to make rent, pay my monthly cell phone bill, and internet, but the rest? Not enough for food, no emergency funds if something breaks or needs replacing, etc. Can't even save and put money away. I sat down and balanced my budget, looking at what I could keep or toss. Figured out what to do for cheapening food costs as much as I could (without doing food bank), and the most I can afford for rent is $700 a month. That's basically a room in someone's house. That's it. As an Adult, I'm disgusted it's come to this. But what angers me MOST of all, is the Landlord's I gotta argue with. Surrey, BC used to be the cheap end of Vancouver. The welfare type housing, and low-income area. Then we had this huge book of Middle Eastern people come flying in at top speed, steam roll the community and make it theirs. They bought up all the cheap housing, ripped it down even though it was not that bad of a house, then built these custom 5-6 room mini mansions. The standards for the area skyrocketed, and the cost of their mortgage is likely also sky high because of what they built... So what do they do? Rent the rooms, force people 2 to a room with no privacy, and if you WANT a private room? Nearly $1000. Oh... And let's not forget the discrimination issues. If you're not going to temple or Gudwara, forget it. If you aren't pure vegetarian, forget it. And because all the other renters are "brown" and under 30yrs old, Adults are considered unwelcome. If you have a disability and don't work, you're automatically labelled a drug user (which isn't always truth). Even if you offer proof of income, and resources or phone numbers to call, they won't bother. Too much work. This sh*t needs to stop. I look in other cities near by, and it's happening in ALL OF THEM. I cant even relocate to get away from this crap. I'm done. I have no car to live out of, so that's not an option. People are hating unfairly on immigrants when it is the government is at fault for not managing immigration better. Let's not forget that Canada was built on immigration and collectively most immigrants do contribute to the good of Canadian society. I am an immigrant, I have never felt that any one group is forcing anything on me. I live my life, pay taxes, do my civic duties , mind my business , don't bother anyone and try to get along with everyone regardless . Yet I have been verbally attacked several times because I am non white. So I often wonder who is truly Canadian and if you are of "colour" will you forever be a hyphenated Canadian even if you are 3, 4 , 5 th or multigenerational born and bred in Canada. The high cost of living and unaffordabilty of housing is one thing, declining national fertility rates another and immigration is another. To me, It looks like Canada's immigration policy needs urgent reform and yes, immigrants should leave their baggage at the door.

writhe people want 35 dollars by h jobs, government want taxes to pay old populations on retirement, abusive landlords want 2600$ dollars monthly rent. i never hear an immigrant complaining. they all succeeded. Is very rare to se immigrants become drug addicts and homeless. That's reserved for the native and the white people. But they complain every day without looking to the mirrors 🪞. Immigrants keep Canada running. More you spend time complaining, more time you will be poor. immigrant succeed even with a 17 $ by h living in a 500$ room after 3 or 5 years they all have houses, nice cars, business and investment i the country. why local can not do it even whit a university degree? Because they are not strong to go work double shifts if need it. Why to buy a 1 million dollars house if you can not even eat correctly every day. The problem is that people live like king and they blame others like the new Inmigrants for their own choices. Have a humble life, respect everyone. And I promise you will succeed.

Ohhhh Canada,  plus a corrupt illegal migrant scam that runs deep into the government,  5 million recently unaccounted for in the country illegally. If they were of my  genetic home of France I'd be even more pissed because I could say something without being called a fucking racist. Adding an average if 70'000 to the 1.5 million city we live in 5 YEARS IN A ROW IS SIMPLE FUCKING ECONOMICS. In my neighborhood in 9 months 7 houses have burnt down, the same workers with different shell names come in and built the same 8 plex where a SINGLE HOME STOOD, they ONLY move in people from THEIR home country, they buy up business and ONLY hire people from their country. And THOSE ARE THE ONES WHO COME HERE LEGALLY from the same country that make up 90% the unaccounted 5 million in the education visas scam and other scams. I have evidence of so much, so so much.

We, the people, don't have free education, many students own loans from universities.\nWe can not buy houses, and no programs help us.\nWe (USA)have a lot of homeless, criminals, people with mental health, PEOPLE ADDICTIVE TO HEAVY DRUGS, plus the alcohol, weed, cigarettes, undecated young people, 30 percent only have a banchelors degree the 70 percent in the whole country don't have university education and not counting young people getting pregnant with toxic partners and their kids repeat the same poisonous life affecting their generations touching lives in a bad way.\nUSA has a lot of potholes in the roads, our foods have over 300 harmful chemicals to harm our health, the health system sucks, education is low teacher teach with youtube and are lazy to teach, educational system is super slow to process student classes or to advice them they make a mess in the documentation of the payments or financial aid, we have to baby sit the educational system to do their jobs and get things done, the food so expensive the egg, milk, vegetable, fruits, gas so expensive it never went down we still paying in LA 5 dollar per gallon to 6.50.\nUSA RENT are for the roofs some states do not even have rental control student loans kill people with HIGH INTEREST THEY GO AFTER YOUR HOME CAR TAXES .\nthe government is not to serve it wants the we the people serve the government.\ngovernment uses our taxes for their personal investment and we the people pay for it.\nThe USA government gives bread crumbs to its own citizens, what can other countries expect from it? The worst part is that most citizens are blind, and we need to wake up and make the government do its job instead of putting our tax money in their pockets.\ncountries need to look for their people but sadly the governments use their people very few are have justice and education.\nUSA say they help but they beat up the ones that are down and take advantages of countries that are in war USA exploit them is an investment not help USA always gets more of the double of what they help invest in countries like congo or eukrania USA want the minerals,land of eukrania and the diamond, land and resources of africa.
