And then we have fake refugees, students overstaying visa and applying for refugee status and playing our system, rejected applicants enjoying our health care system etc. What a mess and insult to genuine applicants who lined up and went legally through the immigration system.

Without Immigrants ( regardless of race) Canada would be a mess

Immigration of any kind should be suspended for at least 1 year in order to fix the system and deal with the mess created by the Liberals over the last 11 years. Get the illegal immigrants and foreign criminals collected and exported out of Canada. Process the people who are here legally and give our systems time to fix issues created by the Failed Liberal Immigration Policy.

Its just the uneducated Indians and immigrants who come to Canada that are messing things up, my parents immigrated to Canada from Pakistan, both my parents are from well educated families. When they came to Canada my dad got a job as a engineer and my moms a house wife, they are well assimilated to the culture of Canada and speak good English, they still practice there religion but don't force it down peoples throats. These are the types of immigrants that Canada needs not uneducated rats who don't know how to respect the people and country that welcomed them in the first place.

Immigration is obviously a mess, but a big problem like in the U.S is that the immigrants are the only one who do the dirty work or hard jobs that require actual physical work. Do you know how many patients I have who have immigrated to Canada and their elite 60s and 70s, can’t speak a word of English and didn’t contribute anything to our economy yet their family members leave them in the hospital because they can’t walk and talk the way they used to, and refuse to take them home.

Accountability should fall on the Government of Canada. They stopped screening properly. There used to be a point system that determined who could immigrate, and it actually worked. I’m of Pakistani descent, born and raised here, and when I’m in Brampton and walk into a Circle K, people start speaking to me in Hindi or Punjabi right away — it’s a trip. At the same time, I’m not saying everyone coming is bad. A lot of international students and new immigrants are hardworking people who want to build a better life. But plenty are also gaming the system. The real issue is that Canada messed up by letting in too many at once, with no structure to help them assimilate. When there’s no integration, no surprise people just act like they’re back home.

I heard why the government did the immigrants wrong. I was talking to an uber driver and my pharmacist. They told me the promises of luxury in Canada has and offered for them to live a better lives. They didn't know after they came here for work and or college/university they become in major debt. They said that they're in a luxury debt and never getting out of debt knowing that they're stuck in Canada and can't be allowed to leave unless they pay off the debts. That's 100 % wrong to do that to people when they know they don't feel welcomed and want to go home. I'm a metis Canadian and I had to leave Ontario to find affordability and miss my home. GOVERNMENT THIS IS YOUR FAULT AND YOU KNOW IT! Let them go home in debt. You made this mess. FIX IT! Including the baby boomers that made the problem started 8 % rate interests to buy houses. That was a mistake that should be bought 1 house and nothing else. I forgot to add something. The uber driver told me that india doesn't know that it's a debt luxury trap that you can't leave unless you pay your debt. He felt alone and found some people and the internet to make himself feel better temporary. TEMPORARY! He hates it here, but he respects Canadians. He feels sorry for the new ones that are coming to become debt trap. It's the same for the pharmacy. She got into college to be a pharmacy and bought the store. She is on low income but doesn't qualify for any supports like benefits to pay off her medical things. The reason she can't because they'll see the pharmacy store is income. Wait what? So she doesn't quilify for benefits because she's making income to pay off her massive loan to do her job. It's not enough to live by as what she told me. She also does misses home, but also traped in luxury debt. This is what I have learned so far. I went through a car accident and coudln't get out of the car. I thought in Brampton, Ontario was the rudest people on the planet, but was saved by the angels of indian people saved me out of the vehicle from the smoke. I still thank you! Immigration into Canada has been a mess for decades, but far worse over the last ten years. This should be the hardest country on earth to immigrate to. Instead, it's the easiest.

Can thank Trudeau for the immigration mess we are in. Between 2015 to 2024, Canada took in just over 3 million immigrants. This does not include temporary foreign workers and international students both of which saw a significant increase especially after mid-2022. About over one quarter of the new immigrants are from India and Pakistan. This likely explains how Brampton became the fastest growing city in Canada (ninth most populous municipality in Canada) and the third largest city in Ontario surpassing Mississauga at the start of 2025 behind Toronto and Ottawa. Trudeau preached immigration diversity but this is not diversity when over a quarter came from 2 countries.

I think due to the prosperity and stability Canada has enjoyed for so long Canadians have developed a certain standard of living and expectations in regards to that. So no, we don't want to have to work 2-3 minimum wage paying jobs to get by, no we don't want to live 4 or more to a 400 sqft studio apartment, yes we want to be able to afford our own homes, yes we want to be able to achieve a stable middle class lifestyle. That doesn't work for the crony capitalists who's greed and lust for power always needs satiating. So we have the Liberal government bringing in more immigrants than we have infrastructure to accommodate in an effort to keep wages down so profits can always be up. Immigrants who are willing to accept a lower quality of life than what most Canadians expect/accustom to because it's still superior to where they came from. So the quality of life for all Canadians is exponentially reduced. We are to accept a lower quality of life and if we resist then we are branded with all kinds of derogatory names; racist, xenophobe, fascist, unacceptable fringe, far-right extremists, et al. What's undeniable is that before the Liberals took power in 2015 we had an immigration system in Canada that worked quite well and that since the Liberals took power our immigration system is a destructive mess. This isn't by accident or incompetence, it's intentional, by design. Unfortunately Canada has a problem with so much of our population being ideologically blind, willingly ignorant, easily manipulated, cowardly staying in an abusive relation with our current oppressive government. Question is can the country be saved before too much damage is done?

As a Canadian who has lived my whole life here, in my opinion there were two major factors that need to be highlighted that started this mess: fiscal policy and focus on fringe politics. First, Canada came out of the 2008 meltdown relatively unscathed due to following a markedly different strategic path than other major countries, namely tight banking regulations as well as 15 years of paying down the national debt. However, several years after 2008, sentiment shifted to adopting the same MMT-led fiscal policies as other nations: lower interest rates and deficit spending. Secondly, at least 10 years ago, there was a major political shift to start emphasizing fringe social issues (climate, race-based, gender, etc.) instead of standard issues such as the economy or military to name two, and it was strongly evident in academia and in the media. The result was little governmental, public or media attention being paid to core economic concerns such as the massive growing government and consumer debt levels, highly inflationary housing market, or decreasing productivity. When COVID hit, the government further doubled the existing federal debt and when they found that unsustainable, opened the doors to massive immigration levels to bring the Debt-per-Capita ratio down which while helping in that one metric, has further inflated the housing market all while forcing wages down. We now have unsustainable public debt levels, unaffordable housing, decreasing wages, decreasing productivity, and a troubling reactionary political swing towards extremist right-wing ideologies. Top that off with the US administration seeing Canada is on an economic precipice and threatening to take the country over, there couldn't be a more perfect storm.

Canada is very welcoming country, but if you guys bring all of your bad attitude, you are not welcome here. By the way I am immigrant Canadian. I have seen many Indians in Canadian recently and many of them are very disappointing. I also met some very good Indian too. Only Indians can change Indians. It is not only human behavior. Why is other country people are not hated? Why are too many Indians appear within short amount of years? Why is corruption and crimes come from Indians more than any other immigrants? Are you dare to find out those answer? Why is Indian government try to mess with our democratic election? I trained Indians for two years as my company outsourced my job. I loved the manager I worked with. He and his wife eventually immigrated to Canada. And I am happy for them. However, it's become out of control. Some part of me wishes they would stay in India and clean it up because India is a mess.
