This is why I desperately wish there was an actual Libertarian party to vote for in elections! There is a party, but they have not gotten enough signatures to be able to run yet, I don't even know if there is an office or representative in Ontario right now! I wish! Their policies (on paper) seem great, and geared more towards a 'Canada first'/'Canadians First' approach. They touch on a lot of topics and there seem to be a lot of things they want to change! But a government is still a government, they will be motivated by money regardless of any good intentions they may have. So if and when things change, WE NEED TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE! We as the citizens have the power to change things for the better! It's just unfortunate that I see so many people getting pushed down or ignored or hated because they are speaking their mind. Remember, Canada dosen't have laws like the US, our freedoms aren't as protected nor do we have the same freedoms they do (like owning and protecting your own property, or self defense!) We as people need to start being honest and expressing things instead of being terrified of the backlash (of which there will be in these times). The only way we can make progress is by deciding to get out of our comfort zones and standing for what is right! For the freedoms and protections we deserve! To make a future worth living for us and our children! It will not be easy, but when is change ever easy? I hope that one day I won't be terrified of the thought of bringing a life into this world and country. I hope I can be stable enough to be able to give my future children a decent life. But right now? I would never want to have children, things are too unstable and I don't want to bring a child into this country and force them to live a terrible life they never asked for! I desperately want to be able to keep hoping for a better future, a better country, and people who can enjoy their lives instead of constantly worrying and stressing about everything. I hope some can consider looking into the Libertarian party as well! They may be small right now, but they seem to be wanting to right the wrongs that have occured.

They left their country because they were promised a better life….once they arrive I am wondering if they are told differently. Are they told what to do what to say. Are the well connected immigrants getting the jobs? Not all immigrants have jobs. I am sure the ones who don’t have jobs are worried wondering if they should go back to their country even if it means being shamed. Darn if they do darn if they don’t. The Liberal made this mess and they should fix it! If they can’t then they should step aside and let the Conservatives try fixing what’s wrong with our Country! There needs to be a revival in Canada. Yes, the Tariffs are one more thing to put Americans in the street, turn off their electricity, take away their heating system, and make America into a poor 3rd world country. Trudeau and Canada are protecting its workers - federal and private and yes, all of Canada. Canada is United. Kudos to the PM Trudeau for speaking out against Trump tariffs. Mr. Trudeau sees what the Trump voters fail to see prior to the elections. Trump is using the excuse of stopping drugs coming into the country. When in reality his tariffs will only benefit corporations. These tariffs will be passed down to the consumers who will pay for them. If everyone who voted for Trump weren't deaf and blind we would not have to now worry more about inflation and higher prices. All those who blamed Biden for increased prices should have looked back at the pandemic that Trump failed to acknowledge.

I'm worried in the UK as we generally follow American trends. I can only imagine who we will elect next. I rarely speak...yet I should have been there before this happened and voted in the favor of Justin Trudeau. Shocked by fellow people claiming his behavior. He has never worried about or dealt with buying groceries. The moment he got back into office, he said that lower prices wasn't happening and that the American people would suffer. \n\nThen he and Republicans began cuts in jobs and government services to Americans as well as others in the world, so that no one can trust Trump --- and in the case of others in the world, it reflects so bad on the U.S. and against any trust in the U.S. anymore. No president has ever done so much damage at home and abroad so quickly. \n\nTrump is the Deceiver and the Destroyer. Trump doesn't care if his voters figure it out. They are no longer needed.

This has nothing to do with Canada or the Canadian people. This is a pure transactional move because that is how Trump sees things. He needs the money to finance his agenda and he has been told that the money does not exist in terms of what the US Congress can provide. They won't cut military spending and they wouldn't dare touch SS or Medicare. Therefore, Trump is resorting to the only available option which is to have the American people pay for it all and that is what he is doing with these tariffs. He doesn't need to worry about reelection so he couldn't care less how much pain he is inflicting on the very people who voted for him. Elections have consequences.

Hell no! It’s a fun place to visit, I love Florida California. I’m looking forward to going to the Carolinas, but I would never move there permanently. As a woman in Canada with children, what I do with my uterus is nobody’s business. I like my option of 18 month parental leave. I like my option not to do overtime and not have affect my job. I like my vacation and I like my sick leave. We have a safety net up here for mother‘s allowance child tax credit unemployment insurance. I think it’s important to note that her choice of words implies a greater issue than just supporting Trump, lack of empathy. The bulk of people that vote for Trump have two mentalities: “if I had to do it, so do you” and “this doesn’t affect me personally so I don’t care”. It’s bizarre to me that people think we need to take America “back” as if this country isn’t made up of a majority of immigrants. Most of our ancestors did NOT come here legally. America is in dire need of education, not just about elections, but political theory in general. So many people think Socialism = Marxism and immediately write it off as diabolical to even mention. The truth is, more communal ideologies will boost the economy not hinder it. I was worried when Trump won, but now I feel like maybe we need to experience authoritarian regimes like his in order to actually wake up and see how our lack of knowledge and care is running the country into the ground.
