We welcome Alberta Canada to the USA. I THINK THIS IS A WONDERFUL IDEA! Think about the security it will bring to Alberta and the tourism it will bring and it just makes sense! As an American; what I am hearing in the US we want the hertiage of Alberta to be perserved. Love Alberta

A good part of me doesn't like this video and thinks tyler just capitalizes off what people want to hear. There's so many nice brown people why do we have to divide ourselves idk man.

One thing that always surprises me is that a lot of immigrants actually don't like mass immigration. I worked with a polish lady who complained more than anyone about the amount of polish people. I've met a lot of Turkish people and a few of them weren't best pleased with the amount of turkish people, and in this video an Indian man says there's too much of it too. Its not an uncommon sentiment among immigrants that they specifically came here for a change in culture, only for it to follow them here. Specifically surrounding politics, a lot of them leave because of the politics where they were, only to find its just as much of a problem here because so many bring those problems over with them rather than leaving them behind. Just to clarify though while I think immigration is obviously a big problem in its current state, I'm not at all against the idea of immigration in general. I care more about where people are going than where they're from. Its just very odd when you hear a strong accented polish lady walk passed complaining and swearing about all the polish people. I guess it does make sense though, if i imagine desperately wanting to leave home for Australia, it would obviously be disappointing to arrive after packing up my life savings to find out all of the people and all of the things were exactly the same as back home. Pretty sad when you think about it.

It's worse than this video shows. I don't live in Brampton and my town is entirely * after 10 years. Everywhere I go is * people. It doesn't matter what store or business or service I contact it's just * people now. When I went to college everyone was from there. This was a regular local college that Canadian kids aspire to go to. They made up 90% of the classmates, they never showed up to class, they refused to participate in team projects, nobody failed. They did so poorly but the school charges 3x. My final year they cancelled final exams because they decided too many international students would fail. They are from the same country but they have different religions and from different cities that hate each other so they would refuse to communicate with each other. Imagine you meet someone from another province and you hate them and aren't afraid to crashout in public over it. My next door neighbors there is so many people living in the house that they live there on a schedule one group in and one group out. You would think they would be going to work NO they literally hang out all day long like a bad 90s comedy movie. In the last 10 years all of the house in my town skyrocketed in price. The people around me all bought around 2010 - 2015 for $150k - $260k and sold for around $1m 2023 - 2026. Average house price in my town has stayed at 3x what it was 10 - 15 years ago. They don't rake their leaves, they don't clean up their trash, they don't clear their snow from their driveways. Both my parents are immigrants, they came here poor had to work, had to respect the country and its laws and culture because that's what allowed Canada to be successful so they could come here. All I hear about or see now is immigrants from the one country? When I was a kid I grew up with every nationality where did everybody go?

It’s good to hear some are thinking of leaving to the US. I truly wish for their success. I worked at a college that became a diploma mill in Vancouver and you couldn’t go to the men’s room without seeing 3 or 4 dudes hanging out. Foreign students also take from the food banks enough to have 1st year students now banned and many people no longer donate. I generally have great experiences Indian people, and have travelled India extensively, but if you let in too many of one type the native population will have a hard time and the immigrants themselves won’t integrate and build their own society. Blame the Liberal government.

Whenever I hear Americans or Canadians complain about immigration, I think of the Gangs of New York scene where Daniel Day-Lewis' character spits on the newcomers coming off the boats...

3:02 I think 90% of what this dude said is so horribly off the mark but even I have to agree with this. If immigrants could successfully assimilate before, why not now? I remember in the 2010s hearing about immigrants/refugees not assimilating in Europe and constantly just thought "well why don't they just do immigration with strong assimilation like we do here in Canada?", and now we had 4 years of sloppy immigration give or take, unfortunate. At least the straight up policies that led to this influx of poorly managed immigration is removed, but the same leaders and cabinet members and the like of the liberal government are present. Oh and did I mention they keep privatizing things, throwing money at mining industries without any seeing of the benefit to working Canadians realistically, and planning to build a pipeline by like 2035 towards east Asia which will likely be majority renewable energy by then, without actually trying to address the issues now present from the 4 years of sloppy immigration policy?

Good journalism, it's good to get out and hear what people are thinking. In viewing, it occurs to me that it's hard for white people, and maybe Christians, to understand some Asians. I'm an American, so-called white American, and love Sanatana Dharm, or what most people call Hinduism - that term should soon be forgotten. Anyway, this video shows a variety of people called Indians but whom are vastly different in belief. So much so, they maybe fighting in India but abroad, they stick together. Islam and most Indian philosophies (they are not religions as there is no overarching institution or organization) feed the "devotees" several times a day...it is a part of the culture, shared meals with those who share faith. The Indians, they basically want a better life and will send money home. Muslims will buy land through a trust and then buy more and more. I don't know about Canada, but there are no such cultures in America - well, the Church has bought a lot of land but does nothing to serve people. The Mormons have land and a strong daily schedule, some community churches have very strong programs, but as a whole, The Church has done nothing to make itself appealing and therefore, there's no opposite or equal force. What to do? and as far as assimilating, yes, they should, but to what? Should they start playing hockey, drinking beer, etc. The second gen might. The West has lost it's way and religion isn't the solution but a culture not so decadent would be a good start.

Just wanna say, cause I don't think its said enough, I commend the journalistic integrity that you started out with and maintain throughout your work. Thank you for your commitment to hearing many sides of the story. My brother is a journalist in NYC and he also amplifies voices that are so often drowned out by louder, flashier ones. As a Canadian, who was born in South Africa, but have grown up in BC since elementary school, I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity this country has given my family. We all work hard to build on the values shared in this nation. I love learning about aspects of Canada that I am unfamiliar with, but ultimately help shape its identity. 🙏

Videos like these would be nicer if you did research/fact-checked people's statements. I know the purpose is to get the POV of the general populace, but it sucks hearing at the end of the video "Well, idk why" when you could improve the quality of the video by supporting or rejecting claims people make. Also, asking more balanced questions instead of biased ones is another way you can improve. For example, no difficult questions or claims against the anti-immigration Canadians were given - they were basically just asked "why do you think this?" On the other hand, the pro-immigration migrants were given questions regarding claims made by the anti-immigrant Canadians - which again was never fact checked by your team. It's difficult and feels like a waste of time when we're just hearing testimony - as important as each individual's story is - but without any critical thinking or research applied.

These politicians need to be held accountable!! They think they are above the people that they represent. Corruption and lies are the fundamental platform for Federal, Provincial and Municipal governing bodies in this country. Our politicians are living a life of rockstars and Hollywood actors while the rest of the country is struggling to put food on the table. Take away the hefty wages and pensions and let’s see how many people want to be politicians then. What happened to accountability in this country?! There is no accountability anywhere! All you hear and see is excuses and lies!

This is a great mini doc that takes time to hear out all sides. It's interesting how white immigrants see themselves on a higher tier, the Polish guy was saying Indian immigrants all get hotels- totally untrue! If you compare how the anti-immigrant ppl are speaking vs the immigrants you can see which side the hatred is coming from. I like when the Sikh temple leader tells him we see eachother as the same, we are all human- this strongly counters the thoughts ppl have on Indians clinging to their own. Ofc not all think like him

Immigration has increased because the government needs more people for the economy. The population 25+ years ago was enough to keep with the costs and demand. Now, Canada probably has a lot of demand and needs an influx of people both for education and jobs. Indians are enticed to come because they hear about towns that cater towards Indians like Brampton. Chinese people used to be the majority of immigrants and that was because Chinatowns would cater to them. Not to mention, these immigrants likely have temporary worker or student visas. These an whole thing with the student visas but I don't want to get into it. So Amazon and other large companies need a lot of workers for their demand and look outside of Canada to fill the job numbers. Meanwhile, Canadians that have been here for awhile are on the streets and jobless. So basically, Canada needs immigration for its demand but I think when too many people come all at once and from usually one country, Canadians will notice the change and feel the tensions that come with it.

Just take a look at India,the world's biggest sh!th0le and then ask yourself why you think importing millions of them is going to turn Canada/U.S/Australia/U.K/Germany/Japan into paradise. All i hear is the same WEF excuse:"the whites are too lazy to work" which can be translated as "we need cheap third world labor to drive down costs". The ruling elites of the West are all WEF. As a proud Canadian I am so very done with these immigrants literally bombarding and overwhelming our beautiful country. We, Canadians need to come together. Unite. Deny all immigrants. I’m tired of hearing about these people that are not Canadian, not born here, migrated here, and are doing so many sickening illegal things to OUR PEOPLE. Kidnappings. Abductions. Stalking single women. Stealing. Squatting in homes and properties. All that with no consequences. Zero. None. And yet they receive all the jobs. All the income. All the amenities that natural born true Canadians should receive and very well deserve. I have never understood why these immigrants all of a sudden bombarded our small towns and cities like swarms of rodents or insects and expect to be welcomed with open arms. It seemed like it happened overnight! I remember seeing a few immigrants wearing their traditional towel wrap things on their heads in a mall one day and I was okay with it. Figured they were tourists or something and then BAM there are THOUSANDS of them moving in our towns and act like they own the place. Trying to intimidate US! In our OWN COUNTRY! It really angers me from within but at the same time I don’t want to come off as a racist or a hater or wtv. I’m not a racist by any means, but I am a very protective Canadian and I love my people and my country and I will help do whatever it takes to protect my country from immigrants and them thinking that they can push us around, intimidate us and try to act superior when they are the ones pretty much INVADING our beautiful, peaceful country. I am so happy people are starting to speak up. Sadly, I am changing. I am becoming angry. Angry at immigrants and the system. Am I becoming racist? Or just so lost at how things seem so wrong. My main upset is for my teen son. Turned 16 after Christmas. So excited about looking for a part-time job, earning some money, getting experiences and (unbeknownst to him ) expanding his social circle. This excitement came from me. LIke all us Canadians who remember our first part-time jobs (mine was at a McDonalds), I regaled my son in stories of that first part-time job. How much I learned from it, and the so many benefits it would have for me as I got older. He listened, and couldn't wait to turn 16. Also, like most parents, I raised him on the benefits of working hard in school, getting good grades, learning, getting involved, etc. Do these things son, and you will have a good future. He listened. Honours student all his life. Played on school teams. Performed in talent shows, Volunteered his time, etc., etc. Not a bad resume for a first time teen seeking a job. It is now heading into September. He has applied at all the traditional teen job hotspots, (all the fast food joints, grocery stores, drug stores, etc). Dozens of resumes, online and in-person applications. Not a single response. Then I walk into the local Burger King. Not a single Caucasian, Black, Hispanic, Indigenous, or Far Eastern employee. All East Indian (or Pakistani). Suddenly I am really noticing this trend everywhere, especially in the franchise fast food industry; especially upsetting when I even see it in a Harvey's (even more Canadian than Timmies). It's either East Indians or Arabs. I don't know for how long I have been hearing about diversity and fair hiring practices (which I have always supported); but to see this trend makes me furious. Are the owners of these franchise exempt from fair hiring practices? Are they not taught we are a diverse country? This is wrong. I want to finish with two sad situations which we should all be concerned about. When my eldest was looking for part-time work after the pandemic, he walked into a Mr. Submarine. He asked if he could leave his resume or fill out an application. The Arab cashier told him in broken English they were not hiring. As he was walking out, a young Arab man walked in. He approached the same cashier and asked for an application. She gave him one. WTF. My last comment, is the most concerning of all. My 16 year old, who works so hard at school, and at everything he does, recently commented, after yet another non-reply after handing out a slew of resumes, "Dad... what's the use of working so hard if I can't even get a job at McDonalds." I wonder how many other Canadian teens are feeling the same way. Not just white teens. Black, Hispanic, Indigenous and East Asian teens. Seems the broken English East Indian and Arab teens and young adults aren't asking themselves that. How long until my son thinks I am just spewing BS about this hard work thing? This is not about racism. This is about fair hiring practices, especially in more and more franchises; however, I do find myself listening to more and more of these videos, and find myself developing sucb negative feelings towards these two cultures. This is not Canadian. To be thinking this way, especially, is not Canadian. What do we do? Speak up, and we are racist. Stay quiet, and our teen kids move into adulthood without job experience, money put away, or just having a life experience that any of us over 30 (no matter our race) experienced. Something has to change; but I haven't a clue how to do that.

I agree with over percent with what the white women said at th e beginning.. The part that she actually does have to hear and accept is the truth..Her ancestors were and are colonizers, those are basic truths.. But the Government must turn the taps down on immigration right away, it is totally out of control.. Things are at the point where no one Zero more immigrants from India and Pakistan should be allowed to enter the country, for at least the next few years , until the government can get a true handle on things.. I really don't think the government officials have any idea of the pace at which Canada is rapidly changing.. It is mind boggling the rapid changes and that's from every single nook and cranny of this once beautiful country you will see new immigrants.. There are places i went to as a child with my folks, where you would never have seen nothing but white people, maybe a few native people, a couple of black and oriental folks and that was it.. Now there are car loads of east Indians running around some actually living in those communities.. I am not a racist person, but that's my own observation on the ground.. I think every single Canadian in this country would have the exact reaction..

That should scare all the lgbtq plus communities that are supporting the liberal government to hear that Mark Carney has spoken and said muslim values are Canadian values. ? If you think the Christians we're bad when you heard their biblical words. ? By hearing what this Muslim was speaking. Hear me out. I think Trump was threatened by Netanyahu to do this to all the countries that agreed with ICJ's arrest warrant and promised to arrest him on arrival. Netanyahu was the first leader Trump met and suddenly EU, Canada, and Mexico are being treated like this.

Trump is a sick man I think. He has a protectionist mind. And he loved to hear from his aides who don't have the right mind.

Current republican here. And although i dont usually see eye to eye with CNN's points of view. I'm here seeing what the 'other side' thinks on this topic. And I don't disagree with everything they said. Don't be too closed off to hear good ideas from someone you may not suspect to have them. Just listen and be willing to hear.

Let's hear Trump's well-thought out, articulate and intelligent response that will justify what he's doing and show a willingness to co-operate. I don't think that's what we'll hear, if anything at all. I will give him the benefit of the doubt........

Thank you, Prime Minister Trudeau, the sane Americans still love you and your great country. This government is not who or what I voted for. I am so sorry, friends. I think MOST of us do not want this either. Our government is a failure and we need to change it. We, the people. The REAL people. Not the fake numbers you hear about from this corrupt administration that lies like it's their religion to do so. Keep doing the right thing for your people, and know you have our respect. To stop drug trafficking, you have to investigate money laundering. I'm not sure how committed Donald is to this important aspect of the war against fentanyl.

The ChiComs, working with their Liberal minions, have made sure that any election will be rigged. Trump is trying to save Canada because he will send Troops into Canada to eject the Chinese military. He wants to do it with laws by getting Canada to join the USA. If that does not happen, he will use the military to do it, and Canada will be seen as the enemy of the USA allied with China. Trudeau admitted that without the welfare the USA has been providing to Canada, your economy will collapse. The Bank of Canada is bankrupt. The Canadian dollar is about to collapse. How will you feel next year when you need two dollars to buy what one dollar buys now? And plan on having fewer dollars to start with because your carbon tax, your sales tax, your income tax are all going up. WAY up. This is what happens when you decide to compete with a USA that is unshackled. The USA can produce more of our own oil than we can use, and we will sell the extra to YOUR foreign customers cheaper than you can produce it. Then you will be BEGGING for a pipeline. So Trump invited Canada to become a member of the most successful and powerful union of sovereign states in history, something that even our own territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and all the others do not have. An invitation to be a bona fide member. Why do you think that is? Minerals? The USA has all the minerals we need. We have more oil, coal, and natural gas than any nation also, and we can produce and refine it cheaper than any country can. So Canada was invited to become a state so Trump could peacefully eject the ChiComs from North America. And did you accept? No. Did you say no thank you? No. You gave us the finger and said f&$k you to Trump. We hear you Canada. But now is not the time for pain, that comes later.

Your General said this is isolating Canada. No it isn't. The UK, Europe and Asia are very open to trade. Ok, I realize that this is CNN reporting this. I don't like tariffs either. But I would like to hear what went wrong to cause a tariff that had been delayed, to go into effect. I believe any thinking person would like to hear the other side of the story before going crazy over it.

But no, you booger globs must think that there are no people in America who speak French, and no people in America who would like to hear him speak French. You are part of the problem, CNN. I think we have cheaper alternatives in the US. How about 50%. As long as we have 250% tariffs on American goods, I say keep going. We need reciprocal trade and need to fix the border issues also. I'm European, but I lived in Canada for a couple of months and actually got to see Trudeau speak live in Parliament. He gave a very different speech that day - a eulogy. I did not think then I would ever hear this man this very obviously pissed off. He's like one of those teachers that don't need to shout to show their students they are in big trouble. I don't know if I would vote for him if I was Canadian, but I would certainly be proud of him right now.
