It's for all people that immigrate to our country. I agree, I think if people come to my country, they need to assimilate. Learn our languages, understand our culture and integrate. I feel that they need to create another sector to follow up on visas, check in on people, monitor. I’m grew up in Brampton, born here to immigrant parents who came in the 90s. The new generation of immigrants have really created a bad image for Indians here, I will encounter all kinds of racism online or in real life, and the hatred is real. I wish it wasn’t so, but Brampton and for that matter the GTA is not equipped to handle these many people. I feel like a foreigner in Toronto for sure, especially my area. The Indian population skyrocketed when Trudeau decided to solve one problem by creating another (I'm being polite here). Good riddance to him, but the problems remains, bringing with it cockroaches and bedbugs (the latter of which was not a problem until their arrival.. just sayin'...). Fortunately for me I can afford to live in a more affluent area, but I see what is happening. Every.. and I mean EVERY service here... is now run by Indians. I'm not a racist.. but I AM a classist (and saying what we are all thinking), and the class that came over in droves the last 10 years are turning this place into the slum they came from.

I’m a proud Indian who is now a Canadian citizen, and I’ve made a conscious effort to assimilate into Canadian culture and values. What bothers me is how this conversation has been reduced to blaming one group. The reality is that the Canadian government failed first by not properly managing immigration volumes, not enforcing document verification, and not honestly assessing whether the country could support such rapid population growth. That policy failure created pressure on housing, jobs, and social systems long before resentment followed. We also need honesty within the Indian community. Some Indians struggle to adapt being overly loud, culturally rigid, and sometimes lacking empathy for Canadian norms and shared public spaces. I studied Canadian and Indigenous history in school, and respecting that history matters. Assimilation doesn’t mean abandoning your culture, but it does mean understanding and respecting the society you chose to join. Cultural education should be expected, not optional. That said, one Indian doing something wrong does not make all Indians bad. Most Indian students and workers I know are hardworking, punctual, and serious about contributing. I’ve personally worked minimum-wage jobs for years, and what I noticed was not jobs being “taken,” but fewer Canadian youth willing to stay in or commit to these roles long-term. Indians didn’t replace Canadians, they filled vacancies that already existed. I also briefly volunteered helping the homeless, and what I saw was honestly shocking. It’s not that the government isn’t trying to help there are rehabilitation programs and support systems in place. The difficult truth is that a significant portion of the homeless population struggles with substance abuse and refuses treatment because it requires giving up drugs. Over time, homelessness itself starts to function like a culture, where benefits and assistance unintentionally enable continued substance use rather than recovery. This is an uncomfortable reality people don’t like to talk about. None of this is simple. Immigration didn’t break Canada, and neither did one community. Poor policy, weak enforcement, lack of accountability, and refusal from governments and individuals to adapt responsibly is what brought us here. Blame is easy. Honest solutions are not.

As an Indian, that's really sad and I'm sorry on behalf of everyone Every country needs to protect it's identity If you're proud of your country, stay there. I think RocaNews you need to be a little more thoughtful into your questioning. I'm also feeling like it's a little lazy to do this research and not include certain data points with it. Or to actually create processes/opportunities to get "newcomers" and "long-time residents" to speak together, a division of people that is far more complicated than the division you add to in this documentary. Think about your values and what the goal of this is. Reflect on this before you just go do the same elsewhere. Look at the comments. What are you adding to/contributing to relieving tension within and between communities? What is your overall purpose.

It would be really nice to see them round up in Surrey BC and Brampton Ontario these communities that are infested with drug dealing and extortion of their middle class families back home. This is the fault of Canadians. The whole concept of Multiculturalism is a façade. What the hell did you all think would happen when you bring a bunch of people to the country but tell them they can hold on to their own beliefs and cultures? I'm sure the reason why the concept seemed like a good idea because you thought it was a way to keep immigrants out of White Canadian spaces. Fast-forward a few decades and now look at the mess it has created.

I lived in Canada for 11 years, 2008 - 2019, went to university and worked in Toronto. I come from an upper-middle class family in China, went to a top university in Canada, landed good jobs and I speak English like a native. I got my PR in 2015 and I remember the painful uphill battle I had to go through just get that. All the bureaucracy, redtape, unnecessarily rigid rules, high cost and long wait I received from CIC/IRCC felt like a humiliation to me. Every document was scrutinized and every step had obstacle that fealt unreasonable (my TOEFL examiner ask me why I had to do the language test required by CIC, and I had to visit a notary to validate my Chinese national ID card). It felt uneasy but I understood that these were the rules that everyone had to go through, and moving and integrating into a new society was never meant to be easy. I went back to Canada in 2021 and 2024, and it was evident that the country I once called home had gone down the hill. The streets were screaming crime, unemployment, inflation, drug and filth, it's total social rot. As someone who went through the whole immigration process (and many of my friends who went through the same have left Canada for good, like myself), I attribute much of this to failed immigration policy. I cannot help but feel confused, angry, betrayed and humiliated when I look at the recent immigration policies of Canada and their results, and compare with what I had to go through. The feeling sums up to: Canada penalizes the hard-working and law-abiding people, and rewards the undeserved and the cheaters. Example: when the US creates wars in the Middle East, why does CANADA bear the cost of bringing in refugees? I never regretted moving back to China and East Asia, and I feel bad for those who still truly think of Canada as home, as I am one myself. When the leadership of a country deviates from pragmatism, reason and common sense, and instead embraces idealogies, hypocrisy and political optics, this is what happens. The prices are paid by everyone, immigrant or not. For this, Trudeau deserves a court trial for his incompetence and dereliction of duty; and the people of Canada need some honest and serious retrospection. I will share some words of wisdom by the late Lee Kwan Yew: “Whoever governs Singapore (LKY was the PM and founding father of Singapore) must have that iron in him. Or give it up. This is not a game of cards, this is your life and mine. I've spent a whole lifetime building this and as long as I'm in charge, nobody is going to knock it down.” I hope the clownish weakling politicians in Canada (and, in much of the western world nowadays) can be enlightened a little bit.

I'm in NYC, my neighborhood is literally every kind of immigrant, Filipino, Jamaican, West Indian, Indian, Haitian... all low to middle class, with some who really _saved_ up working for their 30-50 years here. Kids born or here since little kids, educated and making good money with few exceptions. And so of course the neighborhood.. looks just like any neighborhood in America (albeit denser and more traffic). Must be all that 'wokeness' in NYC. This has nothing to do with white or black or brown, of course. This dynamic plays out anywhere with people that are unwilling to challenge themselves and their ego just finding an easy scapegoat...

We were well educated professionals with university degrees, healthy (checked), had to provide funds allowing us to live for at least 6 months without any support from welfare organizations, no OHIP for 3 months. The only reason you can use the term Immigrant is because the govt issued visas. But that being said the govt fast tracked the usual immigrant process which takes months to years. There's also piles of IDs at that border crossing also. Anyways these open border policies has cut out in depth screening so we really don't know who is in Canada as true asylum seekers or immigrants. To add to this complexity, over 300,000 Canadian travel documents have been stolen from CBSA Canadian Border Services Agency. 280,000 of those were blank Canadian passports. SO we really don't know who's walking on Canadian soil. This was confirmed by Luc Sabourin a former CBSA agent. It’s really disappointing to see some immigrants not making any effort to adapt to this beautiful country, but instead trying to recreate everything exactly as it was back home. I’m an immigrant healthcare professional myself, and I visit many nursing and retirement homes. It feels extremely disrespectful when immigrant workers speak only in their own languages even when others around them don’t understand. Just a few days ago, I was in a park and witnessed someone spitting red tobacco all over a tree trunk. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable in Canada. We came here for better opportunities and a better life, so it should be our responsibility to respect the culture and the public spaces here. I genuinely believe the government needs to be stricter about who they allow in. Canada doesn’t need people who refuse to integrate or who create a nuisance in public. Diversity is about sharing and respecting each other, not about ignoring Canadian values or lowering public standards. If someone is not willing to respect this country and its culture, then maybe Canada is not the place for them.

Being the US's neighbor wasn't a choice. It's geography. For decades we worked together to create a safe and friendly border. Anyway, I’m gonna tell you about my cancer story.\nTwo years ago at the age of about 53-54, I realize that I hadn’t had a mammogram in a long time because I’ve moved cities so I was on the list but in another city. So I decided I need to go get a mammogram. I contacted my GP and he gave me a referral within a couple of weeks. I had my mammogram. They didn’t like it within a week. They did it again. They didn’t like it. They decided to do an ultrasound. And still, they found areas that they were not happy with. So within another week, they did two biopsies. And they came back as cancer cells that had not gotten together yet to create a tumor. So it’s called stage zero cancer. Within two weeks I was in surgery where they took out everything they needed to and I was told that I have good margins. I then had six weeks of radiation. Five days a week for six weeks.\n\nSo about nine months after that and that healing, I had a referral to a plastic surgeon. She reduced my other breast so that I was even. That was about eight months ago. And this week I had a further reduction, call it a fine-tuning, to further ensure that I was even.\n\nThis was all done in Montreal Quebec Canada. \nI paid zero dollars, except a few times I may have paid six bucks for parking. \n\nI am cancer free. I’ve gone from a double D to a B, which you know is better than dying. I am so happy that I live here.

There are enough trans athletes in the world and good enough shape to compete on a world in Olympic level and all the levels beneath those, that I'm going to say that if someone transitions who is already in the military and they can still pass all the requirements to remain in the military, they should be allowed to remain in the military. Edward Snowden, while in boot camp, and correct me if I'm wrong but I think he was training as a Navy SEAL, hopped off his bunk and his shins that were already broken disconnected and threw him on the floor. After his surgeries and Rehabilitation he was allowed to return to training. And this was with two broken legs that took weeks to announce themselves by disconnecting and misaligning to the point he could no longer Walk and Run on them. If he can do that then somebody suffering through all the crap that they have to go to go through to become another gender and the hormone balance they have to maintain afterward and they can still do their job they can still get in the rain, they can still run an easy 10 before breakfast, with a full pack they can still Shoot Straight they can still command they can still follow they still love this country and want to uphold our Constitution and defend it against all enemies foreign and domestic, then they should be allowed to stay in the military. A physical and mental Fitness is all that's required then I'm going to say this officer qualifies. Now what about the mental problem of being a man and considering yourself a woman or being a woman and considering yourself a man? I personally believe there is one God and his only son is Jesus who died for our sins and this guy created the universe and loves us but Mormon Jehovah's Witnesses Catholics and Muslims do not believe the same thing that I believe. Their ideology is different from mine as this man who identifies and has had surgery to become a woman in the US Military believe about himself.

And I'm sure with some people coming across the border. There may be a sense of entitlement, but I would think for the majority, it's a sense of hope.\n I wish we could embrace every person. That is good coming across that border with open arms and tell them Hey, it's gonna be all right. It's gonna be okay for you and your family. But unfortunately we can't. It's a hard pill to swallow and it's a final thing to watch. People have to struggle that world is a very cruel place for some. And for others it could be very easy in a sense. I think sometimes we have to have empathy for other people. And if we don't have that we're never gonna grow as a human race. Color should never, ever be a barrier. Language should never be a barrier. The only barrier that we have is hatred and just evil people and good. That is, the barrier that we should be looking at if we ever want to grow into what God created us to be eyes need to be opened. These people aren't coming over here and take what we have. You're coming over here because they want something better for their lives. They have struggled most other lives. I'm sure they have seen death. Famine pestilence, things that we have never seen in this country. Our generation.\n S are spoiled when it comes to things like that. We have to open our eyes a little further broaden. Our horizons and take a look at the situation at hand and not be objective. Be like the men of old and what they were put on this Earth to do is solve problems. That's what men are good for solving problems. And that's what the men of this manner should solve the problems. Use your heads think we can find a solution.

I understand wanting your people to have dignity, but I’m not sure if the Columbian presidential plane is the best way, the best way to provide dignity for your people is to create a country where they don’t have to leave, where there is opportunity, where there is safety and true equality, when we leave our home countries it’s because our leaders have failed us: I hope this is resolved peacefully.
