I'm all for referenda, the trouble is when government picks the issue, they are usually doing so for political reasons, not legislative ones. Harper pulled the same thing when he took a first nations treaty agreement that had been twenty years in the making between THREE levels of government and threw it to a referendum of a population that had NO idea what it was about, so they just reacted along racist lines thinking 'first nations are taking over'. But in any case, a referenda is better than not, sure as hell wish we had Citizens Initiatives in my province to stop some of the horrible public policy decisions.

This is the Canadian govt’s fault for not making immigration stricter and allowing low tier Indians in. I’m not sure why they weren’t more selective in handing out visas cause their mishandling of immigration just paints a bad picture of all Indian immigrants (even those who assimilate with the country and contribute strongly to the economy). The US at least keeps immigration under control and only allows mostly smart Indians in. The Indian demographic in the US achieved the highest average annual salaries and most have assimilated well. That’s proof the US carried out good immigration control.

I was going through college in southern Ontario about half a decade ago. The faculty was alright but the one that always stuck with me was an elderly Indian man who had a PHd (what he was doing teaching at a community college, I'm not sure). He immigrated from India sometime in the 70's, I think, and sometimes told us stories about how he'd never seen electricity until he was well into adulthood. This was at the early stages of Indian mass immigration to the province, but the international students were already becoming a known problem in the school. They never spoke to anyone else, hung out in big groups together on campus, I swear most of them couldn't even speak English. They constantly cheated on everything and shared answers, I heard like 7 of them got failed for submitting identical lab reports one time. Most people knew they were a problem, but no one was comfortable saying anything. Except the Indian professor. He would publicly call them out for shit in class, berate them, shit talk them openly to other students. I've literally never seen anyone more angry about those Indian students than that Indian professor. It's not hard to see why, he busted his ass to immigrate to Canada, get work and get into a good university. He completed a doctorate, for Christ's sake. He didn't see a street light until he was 25, and worked his way to the bleeding edge of digital science. Now there's a bunch of lazy assholes invited in by the government brazenly trying to cheat their way to a degree in his goddamn class. I'd crash out too.

This is why when you come to a different country you should try to assimilate. I am all four people keeping their culture alive. I wish as an American I had more of a culture. But for one you should learn to speak the language you can speak your native tongue also but you should also speak the language to the country you’re going to, and the driving issue I’m pretty sure is due to the way they drive in India there’s like no road laws and its insane driving. Maybe there needs to be more laws regarding some of these things you should have to take driving lessons in the country you’re moving to. I don’t exactly know but there needs to be more rules. I’m sorry to say but it is not OK to go to another country and basically give them the middle finger to the way they live!!

The Canadians call Brampton , Bramledesh . I can't stand when I get sent there for work, I can't stand the smell of curry. I would love to have my country back to the way it used to be in the 80's. I got rear ended by an Indian woman while driving down the road, I'm not sure how she got her license ( I know how she got it... $$$). There is no laws in India for driving a car so they don't know how to drive.

I feel like a foreigner in Toronto for sure, especially my area. The Indian population skyrocketed when Trudeau decided to solve one problem by creating another (I'm being polite here). Good riddance to him, but the problems remains, bringing with it cockroaches and bedbugs (the latter of which was not a problem until their arrival.. just sayin'...). Fortunately for me I can afford to live in a more affluent area, but I see what is happening. Every.. and I mean EVERY service here... is now run by Indians. I'm not a racist.. but I AM a classist (and saying what we are all thinking), and the class that came over in droves the last 10 years are turning this place into the slum they came from.

What is the national Canadian language? English. Can you speak Punjabi or Hindi? Can you even speak more than 15 words of it? Probably not. I can't, and i shouldn't need to. In Canada the language is always an always has been English or French. Yet all the signs i see you put up in your businesses are written in Hindi or Punjabi. I have never seen a Indian owned business with English signs. Do you expect me to just learn your language to accustom you to living in my country? I'm not doing that, and I'm sure nobody else will want to either. If you come here, you need to get yourself adjusted to how we live and learn our language. You're not in India anymore, You're in Canada. I'm not angry at Indians for doing this, I'm angry at Canadians for allowing this.

I'm glad Tyler is more or less neutral in his findings. It's true, many Indian's have come to Canada and I'm sure many do wish for a better life. Canadians understand this, but the methods the government of Canada is doing to push the numbers too high and too quickly is what's surprising to many. It's the accountability of the government that should be under scrutiny. If immigration was moderate and consistent, the social issues would not be as rampant, but social media loves stir the pot. This is also happening while Canada's housing infrastructure is crumbling, healthcare is deteriorating and general cost of living in Canada has skyrocketed and priced many Canadians out of simple living and enjoyment. Do you think Canadians today are as happy or well off as Canadians even 5 years ago? Do the results reflect that of other countries besides Canada?

Indians have been in Canada for a very long time. Many came from Punjabi closer to colonial times. The racism in the comments is inexcusable. People of all different backgrounds commit crimes , public nuisances, etc. and the complaining of dominating every industry? I’m not sure what angle that is. Maybe the other groups should do better at dominating industries or advocate for businesses to hire other Canadians (equal opportunity employment). And the whole “ cow poop video” Tyler posted is one village in India ; which of course makes Indians collectively look bad and gives way for many of you in the comments to continually perpetuate this idea that Indians are sub-human. And Tyler, word of advice, if you’re going to show parts of the Indian community and Hinduism religion in Canada — at least learn to pronounce words correctly so you don’t sound like a complete idiot.

Reality will kick in very hard for these racist when they have to pay tution fee, because currently they'll are enjoying free eduction due to hefty fee paid by poor Indians in canada's colleges. Go to CRA and ask which community contributes financially through taxes. Go to CSIS and ask about involvement of Indian community involved in crimes. Go and check the streets of your metropolitans, which community is involved in selling and consuming drugs. You won't find Indians selling drugs, but you'll certainly find canadian zombies in the streets. You know why you always target Indians for earning revenue from youtube, because Indians are calm and peace loving. They keep cool when they saw fools and goons, who're frustrated from their own. Grow up and start raising questions against trump, who wants to occupy your whole country! I'm pretty sure all of North America is being influenced by many countries across the oceans. The same thing is happening in the UK. People are obsessed with moving to another country to take advantage of their public services, lifestyles, and deductions because their own country doesn’t offer them. People prefer to leave their homes and cultures instead of making changes within their own communities. They rather take from others. It’s just sad and lazy.

As a non Indian Canadian born and raised I’m disgusted where my country has gone. Our population has doubled since 1980, not by birth rate, but because of the amount of Indians that have immigrated here. Unfortunately, they have no desire to assimilate, they bring their own culture and they stay in their own communities. The government offers tax breaks for businesses, hiring foreign workers over people born in Canada, leaving the youth without any part-time work. On top of that some of my favourite restaurants growing up, I haven’t eaten at in years because it’s been taken over by Indians, the quality of food goes down, you end up getting food poisoning and if you aren’t in their community, you get worse service and get charged more than what an Indian would pay at the same restaurant. They don’t understand cleanliness or sanitation, they leave their garbage and waste on the street and dump it in random locations, and quite frankly have no respect for anyone who lives here or the country that has taken them in. I feel like a minority of my own country and I truly don’t understand what being Canadian means anymore because I’m pretty sure being Canadian is a thing of the past. Most of my friends have moved further north, to Vancouver island or moved out to the prairies to get away from them and higher prices as everything gets more expensive, thanks to our government, caring more about immigrants than citizens. When a family gets accepted to come here they bring their parents their aunts and uncles their brothers and sisters on temporary visas, they also collect social assistance as soon as they arrive and when their visas expire, they have no desire to go back, which has resulted in thousands of illegals remaining here. I mean I get it. Why would you go back when you’re getting treated better here and are given food, housing and an allowance every month but it’s gotten to a point where India outnumbers Canadians. I want them all sent back.

lol no fatso these are not the upper class Indians. These are farmers and other lower-class people that escape India and go to Canada. The upper-class Indians are either in India or in the US because that's where they go with their college degrees to make money. But Canada is very lucky to even have these people. What most people around the world do not understand is that without immigration, countries like Canada have negative population growth, and their economies would collapse. There would not be anybody to work in Tim Hortons or any service positions at anywhere near reasonable prices. Indians do not try to actively change the local culture like Muslims do which our fatso also noted and they do not go on welfare. All of them add to the economy. Which Fatso I'm sure is also doing just like them as he delivers Uber Eats or whatever it is to them as they do the more complicated work. I have an Indian friend who I'm sure is a Sikh (has the turban. Never asked though). He's also very much a proud Canadian, so I can just picture him being mad about the Indian invasion the most.

One thing i can and do respect about indians is that they will never be pushy with their religions. Sure you'll find some "bad apples" but rare. Then there are other countries, that are much more pushy with their religions. I have no respect for that. So there might be a lot of them, but they don't ruin it as per say. As long as they don't shit on the beach and use garbage cans and not sidewalks. I won't go to india an impose my belief or way of living. And i don't think they do that in canada either. But others do it. Sadly, by association of the religion, some will see them as the same people. Anyways we're in 2026, religions are stone age laws to scare people. Now we have actual laws that are based on being a decent person, not the winner or the best, or the only right way. No need for some boogeyman in the sky to scare you, 10 years in prison should be enough to make you behave like a decent human. Even 1 month is enough for me to not be some idiot. Indians are in fact not nice people, as a Canadian I can confirm this and I'm not sure why everyone disagrees. They only hire each other, they are extremely rude and refuse to interact with anyone who isn't them, and they bring their class system they have in India here as well. They are some of the worst people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

I’ve lived in foreign countries as both temporary and permanent resident but I never ever felt entitled to reside there forever. While I’m sure some are caught off guard, they still have a home to go back to. We already have a mess with incompatible newcomers. Maybe we can work on that next.

I get a lot of mail for my job. Over the past year, all of the delivery guys in my area (Nova Scotia) have slowly been swapped for Indian men. I try to interact with them on friendly terms as I did with all of the folks that used to deliver my packages. They generally completely disregard me, don't look at me, don't smile, act completely aloof and cold, throw the package on my deck, sit in their truck on their phone for 10-15 minutes, and then rip out (generally driving over my grass) and speed down the road texting all the while. It is a drastic, drastic change we are being forced to swallow. I'm sure CBC would call me alt-right just for daring to ponder that fact, but it is the reality of the situation. Gas on the flames of a housing/ inflation crisis. It is absolute unchecked insanity.

This is the fault of Canadians. The whole concept of Multiculturalism is a façade. What the hell did you all think would happen when you bring a bunch of people to the country but tell them they can hold on to their own beliefs and cultures? I'm sure the reason why the concept seemed like a good idea because you thought it was a way to keep immigrants out of White Canadian spaces. Fast-forward a few decades and now look at the mess it has created.

It is so unfair. I strived for about 10 years saving, learning English, investigating, studying something relevant. Achieved to arrive in Canada from Mexico in 2022. And now all these mor0n$ from India putting us all in bad word as students. They don’t attend classes, they cheat, abuse AI, steal other’s school projects. Total waste of air. There’s no even room for PR anymore as they flooded the system. In a year I’m going back to Mexico, if I meet any shaky head there I’ll make sure to show my appreciation.
