There have always been a few questionable people that are immigrants and refugees but it was in the early 2000s when you first started to see the foreign students and immigrants/refugees start to me more the "gimmegrant" type. If you come to canada, seeking asylum, or immigrating, they should all be required to work day 1, Healthcare, fine, handouts no. Welfare no. Work. Like my family when they immigrated. All the government needs to do is set up programs with farmers, or any industry to provide worker spots. Fed Government can either top up(not preferred) or like the good old days require an employer to provide lodging, for a nominal rate, towards their total income paid(3 square included). The minister was probably chosen specifically because she was inept and wouldn't know what was going on in her department; that reduces the likelihood that anyone would be turned away a while longer. As Lorrie said - just like my Political Science professor pointed out almost 50 years ago - immigrants largely vote for whoever was in power when they arrived in the country. A very large percentage of the people that they bring into the country under a Liberal government are likely to vote Liberal. That's a (practically) guaranteed stream of new Liberal voters to replace the old Liberal voters who have become disillusioned by the Liberal Party's actions. It has to stop. We need to vet EVERYONE who comes in and we shouldn't be giving them gold-plated health care until we've granted them refugee status or permanent residency and they should be told that up front so no one is shocked or feels cheated. If they know that and still come, they'll know what they're facing. If they choose not to come, they've made an informed decision.

Why is it so difficult to have reasonable conversations about this? Most of this video is completely true — but so many comments show love to that bike guy who was factually incorrect and pointlessly racist. You should come to Portland OR and Vancouver WA, Seattle area too - compare and contrast these communities to the Russians that moved here in the 90s. Another fact if a skilled immigrant like a Doctor come to Canada under a skilled immigrant program , apply wait in home country and gets his PR before coming.. the doc need to show funds to support him/her and the family. I feel this video does cover what's happening but don't answer the question why its happening. Here's what i think- To start with - A major population of indian immigrants in Canada come from two provinces/states - Punjab and Gujarat. From Punjab - Most of the population who migrates to Canada are villagers. They are notoriously famous in Punjab cities as well for creating trouble. They have no civic sense, always getting involved in illegal stuff, some use drugs, no etiquettes, poor hygiene and very arrogant sometimes. Another thing, Canadian government over the years stopped taking in-person interviews and got lenient with rules for gaining a visa especially for students which doesn't make sense and one should be catious so of what kind of people they are letting in their country. This leads to letting in a bunch of wrong people who are already a troublemaker in Punjab and then represents a bad of side of Indians. A side note - Every Indian province is very very different and not all people are same in India. It's definitely a shit situation which shows Canadian government definitely needed a better way to handle immigration. A lot of international students has been exploited by the system as well if you get to know from there point of view as well. So immigrants won't be able to use public services for free? Like healthcare? Unless they were born here? What about about naturalized immigrant that have been in Alberta their whole adult life and are now retired seniors. Will they be denied free public services? In order to help the government balance its budget? To speed this along, will Alberta set up its own immigration and customs enforcement?

Sad thing about all of this. I am sure there are people from different parts of Canada and immigrants voted for her. Canada is not a terrible place to live. We have issues like every other country in this world. Hopefully things will get better in the future, but I will not turn them away because their skin colour doesn’t match mine.

Alberta is a province. Immigration to Canada is a federal responsibility. If Alberta wants to compete for those workers, they will need to improve public services, and assure workers are paid enough to afford to live there. Alberta is an expensive place to live. I know that from experience. Alberta also benefits from the education and investments made by Canada. And Alberta benefits from the pipeline that Justin Trudeau forced through. SO STOP WHINING. My cousin came to canada under a 1 year work visa,, shes white french woman.. Speaks 5 languages, has 3 degrees, ran a business in France.. she landed here 1 years ago,, had to spend 400$ to prove she speaks ENGLISH, (she speaks it fluently),, she paid taxes the moment she landed and got a job, bought a car, a small apartment. Everything Canadian,, not like these degenerate scum sucking immigrants. Had to spend another 500$ to extend her visa for another year.. Everything was going well. Until these worthless liberal cockroaches knocks on her door and told her she has 1 month to leave, because shes taking a JOB away from a CANADIAN!!!.. Are you fuckin kidding me.. These worthless ungrateful, self serving pakis, indies and chinese and who knows what else we let in, are getting subsidies to work at tim hortons,, Walmart,, canadaian tires.. A 15K reduction by the Carney government is insulting. There are multiple immigration catergories- add them all together its more like 1 million a year, not 400k. Wake up Canada, this policy has serious impacts on many components of your life and future generations of your family's life.

The Syrian refugee crisis sure seems like a distant memory now. Who knew that wave of rather forced-looking empathy would lead to a hog-wild immigration and refugee spree? But at the end of the day... who wants the cheap workers? You're going to have a mixed bag of supporters for that, I reckon.

As a Canadian, I believe that we should reduce immigration while not completely removing it like America has. Especially because crime rate has increased a little since canada became so international
