My parents paid into the tax system for 80 years. Ask me how they are treated? It's beyond gross. They gave everything for this country. And what they got in return? Medically? Financially? You have no idea. And im stuck dealing with it. When I should be doing things to help our country. My education and skills are going to waste.

We have a similar crisis here in London. I myself am a British Born Indian guy, my grandfather came to London in the 50s after serving in the British Army. He worked hard, paid his taxes and integrated. Sadly the kids coming here now are uncivilised, loud, disrespectful and don't know how to integrate. Break down from a Canadian who moved to the US. Basically, Indians moved to Brampton because it was a cheaper area, yet close enough to Toronto. Immigrants drove taxi or drove truck usually were paid in cash, leading to tax evaluation. So they were able to save more... They were able to buy a bigger house for cheaper basically. New immigrants move to Brampton probably cause it easier. They don't need to assimilate as much as they sued to. My government has failed me as a Canadian, I paid in to cpp since I was 19, i had a stroke and went blind in my left in 2024 at 56 and cannot get cpp disability, but hundreds of thousands get my tax payer dollars every year……just rotten

To be here as a citizen today, I had to pay CAD$35.000 for a two years program in Toronto. But to get the study visa I had to prove a lot of things, including money, proof that I had paid the college (at least 1st year), English, a Bachelor degree (education), a clear criminal history, and what attach me to my country. I had to study hard, and only after graduation I could have 3y work permit. By working in Canada I could get more point to become a permanent resident. After 2y having my PR, I could get the citizenship, but I had to prove I pay taxes, clear criminal history, and other things that show I would be a good citizen. So, I worked (and still work) hard, I am currently in two jobs and at school taking my masters, I respect the laws, I respect the culture (I never tried to impose mine), and I pay over CAD$10.000 in taxes per year on my income. That said, I feel as a slap on my face when fraudulent and dishonest people are able to be here cheating the system in any way. Some people may say I am an immigrant against immigration. NO, I am in favor of people taking the right path to immigrate, and make real contributions for this country, not coming to be scammers and criminals.

Employers choose Indian students over local Canadian students bc they only have to pay them half as much. The other half of their wages are paid by us tax payers through a subsidy program. There's nothing wrong with good honest working people moving to a new country and living and working like the locals. Yes in the 80’s as a new emigrants we had to work for our living. We never ever thought to get help from the government we are all integrated in to a Canadian society.
