There have always been a few questionable people that are immigrants and refugees but it was in the early 2000s when you first started to see the foreign students and immigrants/refugees start to me more the "gimmegrant" type. They wanted sponsorship, benefits, housing, etc but didn't want to put in the work or participate and some were very dim also. It just got worse every year from 2006 I would say but with Trudeau in 2015 letting more in and telling them we have no culture spelled our doom but then you have ministers like Rempel who also like to play according to the wind. She was all about Islamophobia and supporting Muslims when convenient but now seems to want to close doors.

I grew up in Brampton from 1985 to 2010. I watched it change. Not for the better. I got the hell out there and every time I go back to visit my fam, it's even worse. Almost never seeing any other race but Indian lol. It all has to do with Trudeau's dad designating that city as a go-to place for Indian migrants. The Trudeau's are part of the whole Satanic New World Order, and part of that order is using mass immigration as a weapon to destroy 1st world countries. His father started it back in the 70s. And yeah the driving is absolutely horrible. The car insurance skyrocketed. They destroyed the city I grew up in. It's a shit hole now. Many of them will tell you that India itself is a shit hole, but the more of them that come to Brampton, or wherever, they turn it into India. I don't consider it racism. It's their people but it's not like it's all of them, but it is a lot. From personal observance, they're the most unhygienic people I've ever met, and they love easy jobs the involve scamming others out of money. All of those scam callers are Indian. Nothing else. They have no dignity. No self respect. They just want money and don't care how to get it. I generally don't like them, but it's because of their negative behaviors. There are plenty of other races that come to Canada that people love. Have you ever heard of anyone complain about Filipinos? No. They're loved. They come here and know how to assimilate while keeping their own heritage intact in respect to our own. They're friendly, respectful, hygienic. Indian people just want to come here and make this place Indian and they have tons of kids, so that's exactly what's happening. Brampton was cooked years ago. It's just going to devour itself and fully become an extension of India, and it already has been spreading out from Brampton to the surrounding cities.

You know, Brampton even before trudeau was becoming basically little India, and most Canadians just said whatever let them have it, we kinda accepted it. But after trudeau with mass immigration and them taking over other cities its when it became a little too much and started to take over canadian culture. I had a friend visit from the u.s for the very first time, and we did some sight seeing, you know going to places around ontario that tourists would check out, went to niagra falls for the first time in maybe 10 years man it changed. It was 90% Indian people. She noticed it right away but didnt say anything, i said a lot of indians huh? and she said yeah didnt think canada was like this. When you think Canada its always been mulicultural, you just think of all ethnicities and people of different cultures but at the end of the day everyone was Canadian and they assimilated. Now you dont think of a multicultural country you think of an indian country thats changing the canadian culture and way of life and not in a good way. Identity is being taken away and it needs to stop. Canada needs to take notes from Poland before its too late. Poland closed their doors and guess what? economy went up, crime rate went down, people are happier. Canada opened the doors, crime rate shot up, economy crashing, more homelessness then ever and so on. Not saying its specifically Indian people, its the amount coming in and how they adopt canadian culture but instead bring their culture and trye changing the country to fit them rather then fitting in with an already established country and culture.

Why? How? I'd say blame it on former Trudeau and his team of misfits that allowed criminals to enter our country. Immigrant that exceeded the limit. Allowing rights for stuff like genders and equality and all other fucked up mental issues. Government talks a big game but barely do anything. And yes blame it on the same Canadian people who voted again with liberals that started all this in the first place. It's frustrating

I'm a proud Canadian Immigrant of Indian origin. I came here to do specialized studies in Game Development. I took my time, and studied 6 years as an international student, paying 3x the tuition, sank $200,000 of hard earned money into the Canadian Education system — Not as a fast track gimmick to immigrate, but so I could achieve my dream as a Game Developer. This money was family income, earned on 1/4th the salary, taking 4x longer to save. I was a great privileged to me. Today 15 years later, no one would ever think I'm from India. I sound Canadian, I behave Canadian, I have Canadian values, and I am Canadian. I came here because I loved Canada. I would watch hours upon hours of indigenous history, and on my Citizenship day, I watched Juno Beach to celebrate. However I must say this... I suffered through s*icidal depression here for 8 years, because I had far less leverage here than in a developing country, and it's really telling what sort of situation we're all in... Rent caps in Canada were removed... The housing market was open to foreign investors / and real estate monopolies with a 20% year-on-year rise... Rents went from 1000$ to 2100$ MINIMUM for a 1 bedroom through Trudeau's term and the govt said "It's not a federal responsibility"... Auto insurance is like 2.5-3.5k a year in Ontario and if you get a dent, you pay a deductable... I was quoted 8500$ for two wisdom teeth surgeries while it costed me 260$ abroad... During Covid - property owners, banks, and grocery stores exploited our misery and made record profits!... The govt stopped filtering through it's immigrants with "interviews", and it's operating like a scam — "Bring all your foreign money, convert it to CAD, and keep our GDP stable.. while we neither have the infrastructure, nor the job market to support these numbers". I think some accountability is due... these issues are "symptoms", not the problem — The problem is our Liberal govt / policies, and our wonderful voting body who voted Liberal term after term after term while complaining. Why does this govt safeguard extremism, foreign politics, foreign separatism? Khalistanis are as much of a threat / nuance to India than it is to Canada, but in Canada they actually have a unrestricted platform. Instead of resenting immigrants, we need to start resenting how mismanaged Canada is by our govt, and hold our voting body accountable. We had a chance to vote differently, but once again a repackaged and rebranded Liberal term. Because my ethnicity is Indian, I've become an object of collective resentment / hatred, and I don't think that's fair.. Please direct it at your vote, and govt level policies. Why should I (and other's like me) be crucified with the sins of other immigrants? It's like hating all your neighbors in a burning building, when the management has been lighting the fire.

Can thank Trudeau for the immigration mess we are in. Between 2015 to 2024, Canada took in just over 3 million immigrants. This does not include temporary foreign workers and international students both of which saw a significant increase especially after mid-2022. About over one quarter of the new immigrants are from India and Pakistan. This likely explains how Brampton became the fastest growing city in Canada (ninth most populous municipality in Canada) and the third largest city in Ontario surpassing Mississauga at the start of 2025 behind Toronto and Ottawa. Trudeau preached immigration diversity but this is not diversity when over a quarter came from 2 countries.

I am Canadian and I am glad Trudeau is actually hard on fentanyl. Surprise. If so, I would like to know if Trudeau, and his successor whoever that may be, and the Liberals of course, will be just as hard if not harder on fentanyl dealers, users, and criminals. I heard a person on the Jake Tapper, C NN, this afternoon say all the companies are coming to the USA not Canada, he didn't mention that they come because they don't have to pay a lot of taxes. Us Canadians take great offense that the spawn of the devil wants to annex our country and he refers to our Prime Minister as governor. I don't like Trudeau, but this speech was great. Intelligent when he needed to be, simple when addressing Trump. A strong start to this trade war which as he said, we don't want. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau thank you for your address to Americans, to the american Bully in chief, and to your people. I am among those who started pushing back before trump took office, many are. We’re watching legislation and countering it. It won’t be easy, but we, the other half who understand that trump is crooked and dysfunctional, will not give up. Generally, Americans are not great when it comes to hitting the pavement and letting our voices be heard, but we’re getting much better. We need to be more like France, but without the destructive automobile fires and other property destruction. Life will be hell here, in my own democratic country, until the Bully is gone. I want the entire republican party gone, they only serve themselves via stock insider information, and messed up wishes to control a dystopian society while kowtowing to the billionaires. I want the democrats rebranded to acknowledge the important social programs we have. Let’s face it, they did not protect us from this trump/project 2025 takeover. Instead they allowed unchecked lies, and the ability to buy his way into office with so many felonies under his huge belt. In a country that is intellectually compromised, lies are very effective weapons against democracy. We need better hate laws to control this lying issue.

All the businesses increased the prices of everything due to this unnatural population growth. Supply and demand is not working the way it is supposed to anymore. In a normal household we make plans and prepare for changes. You just said ok, let's bring people here and forgot about the preparations. Infrastructure first man. If your going to bring half a million people over here, build the houses first bro. Nobody in Canada should be homeless which is another result of poor preparation. The housing prices and everything else went through the roof in large part due to the unnatural population growth. Anyway, think first before you act just like in a private home. Why is there such an imbalance of payments between so called friendly countries. You may not like what Trump is trying to do, balance the offset, but you did set up the imbalance in the first place so this is karma. I see a LOT of emotions here in the comments from people who like to tout where they're from for some really weird reason. I imagine to represent the soap box they stand upon. I find it ironic people are giving underhanded insults to Donald Trump by comparing how Trudeau speaks, yet I can almost guarantee those same people brag about how they refuse to listen to a word Donald Trump says. So its a really silly way to try to insult someone. Also just checked some of my stocks daily returns. Up over 2%. So he was wrong within the first 10 minutes. I suspect the market will become more bullish as some of the companies that have made deals to create factories in the US complete them and start churning out products made locally.

I'm European and I really can't understand how you can make an economic trade war with an ally like Canada, a close and so friendly neighbor.... A dumb decision not only for the W Post... Agree with Trudeau here, and as a Canadian conservative, that’s not something I say easily. But let’s get real here. Trump is NOT a smart guy. He has cratered most businesses he’s started, he has no understanding of economics whatsoever and he speaks like a five-year old. Conversely, here in Canada and around the world (including many in the US who are voicing heir support here) we have A LOT of smart people and an enormous amount of good will, and we will persevere and overcome. Trump did a good thing. All you woke, soft hearted liberals don't get the fact that the USA has been allowing these other countries to eat off of us for free. Well, that' stops today. The President/PM of Ukraine will also learn a valuable lesson today as well. Never bite the hand that feeds you. All of our tax dollars have been donated around the world to other people's causes while we are made to suffer. We have a financial crisis right here in America that needs to be addressed. This is the start, and in the long term, we will prevail. Canada is like a little sister to the US. Trudeau is talking about fighting and they can't survive a war without our help. Neither can many of the other NATO countries. So, middle finger to him and any other country that opposes us. It's time stop being taken advantage of and for the USA to start acting like we are the most powerful nation in the world. Many of you don't like Trump's decisions simply because you don't like the person. Get out of your feelings and look at then big picture.

Trudeau sounds like a child that just got kicked out of his mom’s basement and told to go start making a living himself instead of getting the free ride he has been accustom to. Time to pay your bill Canada. We just can’t afford propping ya up anymore. Don’t worry it’s not just you,it’s the end of all the reckless spending that our bloated government had been doing for years. I’m sure you will be fine, but you’re going to have to get rid of all the waste in your government too.

I voted for Trump, but it's hard not to agree with Trudeau on this even though I find this guy to be extremely unpleasant. There's no reason to start trade wars all over the world and in particular with our neighbors. It's one thing to threaten tariffs and a very different thing to actually apply them. If you do it has to be accompanied by a lot of diplomacy so that the other country is not overreacting, but Trump has been super combative prompting our neighbors to respond in kind to save face. While past deals may not have been great for US, this is not the way to handle our differences. Billionaires like Trump and his friends will be fine, but the majority of ordinary folks in the US and Canada will suffer. Very dumb, indeed.
