When I left Canada in 1995 there was a HUGE Pakistani population. The west is the west and we can't keep accepting more and more immigrants that don't assimilate. It's not hard to assimilate y'all. The USA does have a culture despite what other cultures say.

As a Canadian I think immigration is a good thing, but the liberal government has completely broken that system. The last generation of Sikhs were good. Worked hard. Assimilated into the Canadian culture. The new ones were a bum rush by Trudeau to keep the GDP numbers up while he robbed the country. I have Sikh friends who feel the same way. They feel like the new “students” and business subsidy abusers are ruining everything the old immigrants built. Has nothing to do with your skin or culture its not that deep and your not that special for most people to think about at all. Its the insidiousness of the actions and loopholes that are used by immigrants of all races or cultures that allow themselves to thrive. While the people born here of many colors get nothing but higher taxes to pay for the services that get totally abused. Birthright citizenship for people born here needs to end if the parents are not legit citizens. Housing capacity laws need to be created with fire code enforcement so you cant have more people living in a house than rooms available. All religious facilities even the white ones... need to be taxed. No more preferential treatment for visas because your related to someone who lives here already. Everyone across the board should have to immigrate the same way with no special treatment. Cultural celebrations and traditions. Respect everyone. Lot of people....the original citizens feel the burn since the world around them is changing. It's natural that they harbor these ill feelings. Most of them are ill informed and have these racist views. It's true for every immigrant community that emigrated from Europe as well. You have Irish immigrant towns, little Italy's, China towns, little India's, polish neighborhoods in Chicago etc ...these kind of neighborhoods are all over north America (USA & Canada). This is natural. Assimilation happens in 1 or 2 generations. Economic expansion and fulfilling social security benefits for the older generation needs population growth and a new younger workforce. This is achieved thru immigration of skilled labor force of all kinds. Population dynamics and demographics keep changing all the time and it has happened thru out human history. Now we are living in an interconnected and inter dependent world. It's better to adapt to change and move on and retain your loyalty to the country they migrated to and contribute positively to their economy and try to assimilate as much as possible and be aware of the sensitivities. This new immigration is from Asia and they are of different ethnicities and cultural background unlike european immigration that happened earlier. So some backlash to these new people's is to be expected and there will be lot of scapegoating and stereotypical epithets that will employed to demonize the new immigrant groups. We all have to adjust assimilate and move on in this great circle of life.

I agree that immigrants should adapt local culture and assimilate but I do not think immigrants have to be exatcly the same. bruce Lee adapted local culture while adding something new and beneficial for the locals. If the things you bring is beneficial to the locals, then I do not think it is problematic if you bring them in while keeping ur original identity. I’m an exporter, if your exports align with destination country’s customs and at least certain aspects of it. It increases your export success rate. On contrary, if there is nothing that connects the locals, it will doom to failure.

Quebec sees the long term problem for preserving French language and heritage as threatened by the huge numbers of immigrants. If left unchecked, the province will struggle in the future to keep their cultural distinction as these residents enter politics and leadership roles.

This is the fault of Canadians. The whole concept of Multiculturalism is a façade. Look at India — poor infrastructure, declining quality of life, and a government more focused on propaganda than progress. Importing that mentality, even among the so-called “educated,” won’t benefit Canada. Core values and a willingness to evolve matter far more than degrees. Your govt should also stop permit or spending public money on building temples, mosques, or any religious structures. Why do we even need them? Faith is a personal matter — keep your beliefs and celebrations at home. Things starts with these things only.

Immigrants should keep their culture eithin their house and communities, but all canadians have to respect all culture if they are not nuisance to other people that they dont belong to your culture.

As a Brampton raised kid, I lived there from 97' till about 2023, I'm caribbean and we have a large indian/muslim/hindu population too on our island. (Trinidad) and the issue with Brampton is: Indian people will gladly intergrade, but Canadian borns won't welcome it. Walk with me- I'll use food for an example. Every other grocery store is middle eastern/asian/african in Brampton and its becomes harder finding more western style food. I love international food, I cook it often but if you're used to burgers and pizza and only know how to make spaghetti it feels like a 'take over' These people want what they want and even though all these places are free for you to also enjoy they don't like it cause it's too 'foreign' to them. It doesn't mean there isnt still a No Frills or a Walmart or Metro, but because the african and halal store are closer and more frequent it seems like more of a convenience to others and not to you. When people say we're multi-cultural, they mean 'yeah he's brown or black but he keeps it to himself' They aren't going to go to that Sikh temple giving free food, and only go to the church at the beginning even though they're welcome to both. It's the same for Diwali and other things, white people dont care to be interested in those things, and just wonder why they get to have it at all. I do agree with that indian lady at the beginning though, with lax immigration you come in feeling like you don't need to do anything to assimilate. They're doing themselves a disservice by only helping themselves. I hate stereotypes being perpetuated onto people but like that Pakistani guy said too, you live in a bubble and you don't pay attention to that. You can go days without speaking english to someone. You can't immigrate somewhere and shut out everyone already there. I get you may not feel welcome by the white people like the ones in the beginning and so you dont mess with them, and its easy not to. But there needs to be openness with helping everyone benefit from multi-culturalism and not just some of us. There are issues with immigrants not wanting to go outside their bubble and for canadians not to want to either, It'll be hard to (with the current issues we're facing as a country) to actually blend together more.

An example. In the small village of about 60k people where I live, we struggle to keep a descent Chinese restaurant or two. Indians are attempting to put a restaurant, shop or grocery store in every shopping center in town. Not to mention eyeing every house that goes on the market in my neighborhood. Then there's the immigration abuse and fraud that comes along with the particular culture.

The biggest problem with multiculturalism I think. Its a softer melting pot. You get these grops of people that stick with their own culture. Speak the same, dress, act the same. They aren't integrating or very little. Your going to start seeing much more of the mulim population start now that HAMAS is here. Your already seeing protesting on a regular basis. Then eventually theyll keep pushing for sharia law. They've already tried several times in the GTA. It wont stop. Look at London and whats going on in Europe right now. I keep saying, there are certain sectors that should be closed to Canadians. I'm talking about white Canadians and possible black Novia Scotians whose family been in Canada since the 1800s. The collapse of family farming in Brampton or other part of Canada for instance, was not caused by immigrants but by corporate consolidation.....which since its being made into a race argument ...is driven largely by white elites. Totally agreed. If you want to maintain your culture then do not migrate. But whose fault is this? Canada and some other western countries give too much freedom to immigrants to do whatever they want. So people started keep practicing their own culture instead of adopting the Canadian culture. As an immigrant to Canada (in 1982), my family and I integrated into Canadian culture. That is what immigrants used to do. Yes, you can keep aspects of your own culture, but the expectation was that you become Canadians first and foremost. I don't see that with many new immigrants today. They just milk Canada for all it is worth and try to make it a version of their country of origin. I love diversity and multiculturalism, but it has gone way too far IMO.

No doubt about it, Canada is for Canadians. If you wanted to, you could deport millions of immigrants, but let's be real about the cost. The Canadian economy, its pensions, its farms, and its health sector all rely on immigrants to pay taxes and fill jobs. If they're a success, they're still a problem. They can't win. This old colonial mindset is alive and well. But when those same folks go to Asia or Africa, suddenly they feel that old nostalgia and are much more comfortable with the social hierarchy there. It would be ideal if no one had to leave their home country for a better life. When we have more justice in the world for everyone, maybe we won't have to keep having these conversations.

Lets keep i real. The desire that most immigrants have is homeostasis which is the familiar. All humans do this. Individually indians are usually smart and decent people. Are you kidding me. Are you not in Canada right now. Canada is now the most poor country in the World. Immigration has gone to the roof. No housing. Rents and forget about buying a house in BC, AB, Quebec, Ontario. High unemployment, Inflation is high and going up more. We also do not have a military defense system and the U.S. is tired of Canada not spending money to meet their responsibility as a Nato country. Many Canadians are leaving the country permanent. Hello Anna and Anastasia your channel is truly a hidden gem full of useful information and insight. I am an international student myself and I agree with all your points in the video, Canada used immigration to fix a deeper problem and that is its difficulty to incentivize the economy by having a heavily regulated environment, high taxes and low productivity. It will definitely alleviate some of the pressure on the system but, the real cause is still there. The first sector that is going to be affected will be the education as colleges and universities became over reliant with the revenue coming from Int. Students (which is not particularly small) and institution will need to adapt. When I first came here I fell in love with the country and I really feel fortunate to enjoy this beautiful place and doing everything to assimilate and integrate myself into the culture. I think here you can have a sense of hope of things improving in the future (something that is not the case in my home country) but if they do not fix the underlying problem it does not matter how much immigration they reduce, Canadians will not see a significant improvement. in my work we have mostly immigrated east Indians from various area's 5 white males and 2 white females the rest in our local branch out of 47 employees are non white keep in mind though that is a ground level branch number up higher are wealthier white manager positions were the ratio is primarily white bodies but one thing i hear them saying a lot is that they do not like going back home that when they do they are targeted as wealthy off the planes and are stalked and targeted apparently one thing i never would have thought is they also say there is a ton of roaming mob crime in india that girls and men are targeted who are of native blood and that even in there homes they are not safe so i mean if we bring in majority young males from these regions you have to think that bad habits come with them i would probably disagree if the majority were young girls mostly because i dont think any culture has a surplus of problematic immigrating young women it just doesn't happen

See, I know this is wrong. But we have to be honest I am an Indian but moved to America. I stayed in New Jersey and the environment we created there is absurd. We made the place dirty, uncivilized behaviour and the list is long. This is happening in Canada too. Canadians identify everyone as Indians but the major problem they have is with Khalistanis. My experience girlfriend was Canadian, her mother owned a departmental store she caught and called cops on many occasions were our peyare caught on camera stealing, damaging the store and also peeing right in the corner of the store. I saw all these footage. The major problem with Canada is most of the Indian immigrants that went there were uneducated and directly went to Canada from Indian villages, it's a cultural shock for them and during the initial period everyone behaved in a uncivilized manner. There are many people that voted for Trump that is against mass deportation of law abiding illegal immigrants, but are for deporting violent criminals and securing the border and keeping illegal immigration out. I also came to Canada in 2006 as an immigrant with my 2 bags and started my new life with empty handed which almost all Indians had started on their time. Yes it’s very hard to adopt other cultures 100% for first generation. But have you think how this new immigrants have their own house and good jobs or business. Why their kids achieved higher education without any loan because their parents worked 7 days without looking around so called culture. They believe in work hard and focus on their family and kids and in extra time visit temple or Gurudwara just to keep live their believes. Do you know how many places where you find 3 times free hot food for everyone in Brampton at Gurudwara and Temple without looking at his originality. \nDon’t think the immigrants are coming here are poor in their country or helpless like refugees. Most of are millionaires in India but in Indian culture the stupid thoughts is to earn for next 7 generations so because of that greediness they work here 7 days and that’s why they are not homeless.
