Once a temporary status expires, and if there’s no other legal pathway to stay, the person must leave Canada.

IMO France 24's reporting is a little confused on this issue. You're getting the perspective of 1) immigrants that have been denied a path to citizenship and 2) corporations that can't offer attractive wages to Canadians.
