Do you think most of the white people are Canadian for 1000 years and not first/2nd/3rd generation immigrant themselves like from Italy, Greece, Portugal, Ireland, etc.? Anyway, I enjoyed the video. Wow, What a 'hot take'. 🙄There are assholes everywhere - So when the country increases immigration massively, Canada will see an influx of both amazing people AND assholes. Reducing it to a race issue is so reductive and incredibly ignorant. This is a complex issue - most communities are suffering from a lack of infrastructure and planning with the sudden mass immigration that's happened. Let me also remind you - Canada is a MULTICULTURAL country, with most of it being TREATY LAND. Which means that at one point, us or our ancestors were the assholes who came here and didn't assimilate. If you're not ready to have some grace and embrace people individually, feel free to move down to that melting pot you're so fond of.

Im from England. We have this problem here but with muslims. But I don't thing America has a right to speak against immigrantion when every white American comes from Europe. Nothing wrong with it, but America isn't a white country it's a big melting pot of different races.

I grew up in Brampton. When I was going it was really multicultural, I lived in a Portuguese neighborhood. There were many different ethnic neighborhoods, it was a melting pot of cultures. I had friends of all races and I got to learn about their cultures. It would have been the perfect place to raise kids.It's not multicultural anymore it's just Indians, it's filthy there, crime has skyrocketed and housing prices is insane. You also can't rent apartments as all the landlords will only take Indian tenants under the guise of "vegetarians only". It's a shame, it used to be a great place to live.

The biggest problem with multiculturalism I think. Its a softer melting pot. You get these grops of people that stick with their own culture. Speak the same, dress, act the same. They aren't integrating or very little. Your going to start seeing much more of the mulim population start now that HAMAS is here. Your already seeing protesting on a regular basis. Here in my little town in Australia's Top End, we have a genuine melting pot. Filipinos, Chinese, Nepalis and the list goes on. The Sikhs are fantastic and I hope we get more, but younger Indians and Babgladeshis can be annoying. Still, our PM seems sure that they will repopulate our overpriced nation - c'est la vie.

Canada is one of the worst countries in the world, if not THE absolute worst for men. The intimidation game is beyond brutal, that's what you get with melting pot madness. Better then Islam I guess. Most Indians are fine and well mannered but I feel they have no interest in Canadian values and culture and prefer to keep there personal and business lives within there own circles. I never usually comment, but really had to speak up. Those of you from the US should not be involved in this conversation considering ur melting pot country with little diversity who is unaccustomed to diversity anyways (i went to america and was shocked at how little coloured minorities there were, and if there were it was just one type that was not brown). Canada has always had brown people, and many of the people you are talking about could be those that immigrated many years ago here or those that were born here. This is different from those immigrating who are also brown - you are grouping those from all different countries in South Asia (with brown skin) as Indian. Just because you see a brown person working in Walmart, it could just be someone who was born here or came here a long time ago. Brown people and Indians included are not in a majority in any way - just look at the population stats.

I have friends from india they did there best to integrate and have similar values to other canadians. Indian food is my favorite but too many people come here and dont want to adapt or adopt canadian values they stay in the community they are most fammilar with and retain values that arent in line with canadian values if you plan on living here get to know the locals and we will treat you well canadas a melting pot come chill with us we got good cocaine and shit

After living in Brampton now for like 3 years, you can feel the change. Millions of low skill immigrants is just not an option.\n\nI have a high skill field and will probably move to the US for work in a few years because of the cost of living, housing, immigration crisis. The problem is with how immigration is set up. The general population is ok with immigration as long as most people coming in adapt at least somewhat to Canadian culture while integrating their own.\n\nI'd say thats what Trudeau had/has in mind cause thats what Montreal is like. \nBut its like that cause the Quebec government focuses on secularism & French Nationality which creates a sort of blended dynamic that's still uniquely Quebecois.\n\nThat doesnt work so well in other Provinces.\n\nAlternately, the goverment may be trying to turn Canada into a true melting pot, which would create a different Canadian culture and identity than we currently have. \n\nHowever, that only works out when you bring in an equal # of people from different Countries wnd ethnicities.\n\nWhat we have right now is a system that seems to bring a certain percentage of immigrants per Country. Using that math, India and China will always send out more people as they're the most populous and crowded. Hence why Eastern Canada has a lot of Indian immigrants and Western has a lot of Chinese.\n\nThe government will need to get a handle on it and at least even it out if not also slow the flow, lest we risk a rise in xenophobia/isolationism and racism which has already started to make the rounds.

In the U.S., immigrants always assimilated until the 1960’s and we had a “melting pot”. More recently, immigrants want to retain their culture and now we have a “salad bowl” of multiculturalism. It’s failing. We’ve never been more divided.

The logistics of immigration is one thing but why focus only on India? Toronto is NOT a melting pot. I would say Montreal is a melting pot where all cultures contribute to the French culture. Toronto just has a bunch of different communities coexisting rather than melting in a pot.

So let me be clear: the Aboriginal People have absolutely every single right to be disgruntled and complain if any nation is to do so especially after having been swindled and bamboozled out of their land and space and way of life. Canada, unlike the US, was always more of a salad than a melting pot. Many separate ingredients in one bowl. It wasn't that long ago that Canada was dealing with the Quebecois issue. Beyond that, there are issue with First Nations relations. To expect Canada to be a melting pot is too much. It's a country primarily of English speakers, a large number of French speakers mainly concentrated in Quebec, First Nations people, and then European immigrants who in a generation or two become more basic English-speaking Canadians. You can't expect more than that form Canada. This is not even addressing how Chinese Vancouver is. That's another ball of wax.
