The United States has elected a president who is turning its longest-standing allies into adversaries. This isn't just about Canada. The entire Western world is watching. While the U.S. has the power to harm its allies, those allies also have the ability to push back, and the USA is rapidly losing friends who may not return. As America’s alliances weaken, so do the obstacles its rivals face. \n\nTake Australia, for example. Should it continue aligning with the U.S. in the Asia-Pacific region? Should it continue hosting critical American surveillance infrastructure? Should it keep supporting and supplying the U.S. fleet? The USA enjoys a trade surplus with us, but do we need to spend USD$50 billion over the next decade buying your hardware? The Europeans seem to be a more trustworthy ally, who don't make us a target.\n\nThe USA would argue that their presence ensures security, but the reality is that countries like Australia only face threats because they are tied to U.S. strategic interests. Perhaps a more pragmatic approach that avoids unnecessary antagonism with China would serve us better. \n\nAs for Canada, it will adapt and find new trading partners, just as Australia did when China attempted economic coercion. And through it all, Canada, know that Australia will stand with you—always.

Trudeau is a clown. This is a guy who thwarts free speech and jailed his own people and took their money away during peaceful protests. Canada has enjoyed a a trade surplus against us forever. They also do not have to pay for military since they are right next to us. They should be doing whatever we want. Canada was sending recyclable trash to the Philippines. When the trash arrived it was not recyclable. Philippine president said stop sending but Canada continued to send it. So finally he said if you send one more ship, we will declare no war on you. And if that happened, without US help, even the Philippines would destroy Canada in a war. Way more fighting aged males and Canada has a worthless military. Canada has a GDP of 5-10% of US. So Trudeau acting tough is hilarious. Like a chihuahua barking at a grisly bear. If push came to shove, in the time of US war need, the US would simply take whatever it wanted from Canada. That's what happens when you don't develop your own substantial military-just like Europe now.

We need to make a democratic front with the EU, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand and any democratic nation sharing our values in opposition to the US and cancel out the US during the Trump presidency

Thank you for separating the american people from the very small percentage of those in the White House administration behind these actions. Most americans are not in agreement with any of what's coming out of the president's office. He's lost sight of what American really stands for - and that his role, along, with those of his administration, are paid servants. Obligated to SERVE every citizen of their country - including representing and fulfilling the wishes of the people they serve. The only reason the US imports so much from Canada is because the Democrats stopped production of all the materials Canada supplies the US because of their green policies. \nBut President Trump is reopening the gas, oil, electricity and agriculture production, so they won’t need to import so much from Canada, in fact probably reducing it substantially. \nProbably what will happen now is discussions on various goods to become equal on terms of cost in both countries levelling the playing field.

Every country should be responsible for their own goods. The day we start relying on other countries for what we need we're in a heck of a mess. Because China couldn't get our merchandise to our plant we had to shut down for almost a month. We messed up sending some of our work to China. After this we got everything in the US. Cheaper prices are not the solution. Cheaper labor is not the answer. Trump is concerned about the drugs coming into our country and since the borders are affected these drugs will be coming into our country many other ways. You know where criminals go to get out of the US. Canada. Trump is doing this for our country and you can bet on this. I'm sick of drugs in our country killing people everyday. I'm sick of guns but just about every household owns guns. Children are killed in their own homes with guns. Who cares about alcohol being sold in their state. Honestly. People are homeless because of addiction to alcohol. Yeah saying president Trump using fentanyl for this for this trade war was a bad move. President Trump is doing this for the drugs taking over this country.

If we are going to be an authoritarian, antidemocratic, fascist dictatorship, we have to shed our old friends who would get all judgy about the the human rights abuses. Meanwhile, we need a president and I can only say F-no to Vance and I don't know how many other dictator butt goblins in the line of succession, so, since Trudeau is going to be looking for work, lets make and exception and hire him for president. I'd much rather have one with a pro-Canada bias than one one who seems to think he is Putin's Elon Musk.

If you add in our more studious teenagers, truly reformed felons, and immigrants who actually deserve a gold card, that number plummets to less than 25%. I won't ask people to wake up, if you are reading this you are already more than capable of finding out that I speak only the hard truth. This means less than a quarter of america wanted this. This means your vote and opinions DO count. I know it is incredibly difficult to reach for and find answers in a world where your president or primary candidate throws 'fake news' in your face on a regular basis. He is actually telling the truth. When he is not telling you is that he is a primary enabler of 'fake news'. To him, only his word is law, only his opinion matters, only he deserves to be on top, and he deserves authority over all of your lives. Do the right thing, we all have a civil duty to understand our candidates to the very best of our ability. When a man has been convicted of dozens of felonies, and we tell you that this is only what we were willing to expose. You may want start believing us. The genuine facts of his past are unilaterally corrupting to our children and good people alike. Do not let the american people repeat their mistakes, force Mr. Trump to atone for his mistakes. No not empower him to sweep them under the rug for the sake of his own arrogance, because that is exactly what he is doing by trying to dismantle the CIA and FBI. These two institutions are shining examples of America's pursuit of freedom and justice. Freedom to keep billionaires from corrupting the morals of our children. Freedom to know that the rule of law is immutable, our constitution is not just a paper with fancy traditional sentiment. Even if the law may sometimes be bent for the sake of decency, forgiveness, and the pursuit of 'united we stand', our constitution cannot. Amendments require the FULL support of nearly all Americans, not 27.5% of unrestricted adults.

I support Trump and I support MAGA. However a president needs to keep his word and Trump appears to have broken his word here. He asked Canada to reign in illegal immigration to the US and Canada complied. He said do something about fetanyl and Canada did. Trump said the tariff's were because Canada was not acting on these but now they have and we imposed the tariff's anyway. We look like liars and cheats. \nEven with Mexico we threatened tariffs if they didn't help with crackdown on illegal immigration, fetanyl, and drug cartels. Mexico complied and is also helping us. And we still slapped tariffs on them. We lied to Mexico too. \nAnd now we want everyone to trust us to negotiate a peaceful end to the Ukraine war with Trump threatening more sanctions on China and the EU. What the heck should they trust us and believe us after what we just did. \nWhen it comes to defining your character your willingness to keep your word overrules absolutely everything else. Our president gave his word that if these countries took certain actions there would be no tariffs. They did and now he slapped them both in the face with sanctions anyway. He broke his word. This is a dishonorable action. I hope it does not escalate from there. \nIf it was about promoting or building domestic industries, I think the Canadians could have helped us with that but now.... good luck now that bridge has been burned.

Who cares? Seriously Of course he's upset. Canada relies heavily on the U.S., with about 75% of its exports going to America, making us a major contributor to their GDP. Instead of making other countries richer, we should focus on manufacturing and building here at home. This would keep more money circulating in the U.S., boosting economic growth and strengthening our own GDP. A stronger domestic economy means more jobs, higher wages, and greater financial stability for Americans. Regardless of who’s president, we need fair trade policies that benefit the U.S. just as much as our partners.

They have been putting our corporations out of business that compete with them here by giving those Canada companies subsidies so they can sell their materials cheaper than ours. It’s really crazy how people were so happy to pay more money for everything when Biden’s people manipulated us to think it was important to support Ukraine’s war and that was why prices were going up. Now, no one wants to support businesses coming to the US. \nThere are way worse things than prices going up for a few years. We do need to start chipping away at that $36trillion. We are the 1st country to not go belly up with the GDP ratio to debt as high as ours. Economists that aren’t connected to our government and top CEO’s said last year that it didn’t matter who was president, our dollar will reset and our economy will crash. So, somebody has to do something. Trump and his people has to think outside the box to stop it. Especially if interest rates don’t go down, because if we can’t pay the interest and our corporations can’t either, the crash will happen.

Donald Trump is managing the [very rapid] decline of the post-war US empire. He understands that he needs to let go of the levers that made the United States a de-facto empire after the end of World War II. Those levers of power will - WILL - be taken away from the United States, whether we like it or not, and regardless of our willingness to give them up. President Trump understands this. The only thing that makes sense is that President Trump has been compromised. We need to stop for a moment, ignore the chaos and demand an investigation into the President Trump. Too much of his corruption has been aggressively swept under the rug. Agencies that have investigated him have been targeted.\n\nWe know that he is an ego maniac. Why would he do these things that would make people on both sides of the aisle hate him? Why would he publicly align himself with dictators and known enemies of the U.S. and then destroy relationships with our allies in just over a month in office?\n\nSomething isn't right. We need to demand a deep dive into the President and VP JD Vance. We need to do this before they plung us into civil war.\n\nWhen we are poor and struggling, we tend to voice our frustrations within our communities and turn on one another. This isn't the time for that! No matter how you voted. No one voted for this! Put your differences to the side. Price hikes, unemployment and being cut off from resources will not discriminated based on your race, religion, economic status or citizenship.
