"Alberta was calling" because there was a labour shortage. Now it's different. Policies adapt to current needs and future expectations. As a regular person, I just wish my kid could have room for lunch inside during school and us don't need to wait weeks to fix broken bone. I don't care how, just shut up and get it done.

This is what gets me, I’m an immigrant. I came from a place where we speak a broken dialect of English. As part of my processing, I had to demonstrate my ability to speak the queen’s english. To work, the expectation is you’re able to communicate effectively with whoever you’re interfacing. These folks come here, make zero attempt to improve or learn English or French - the national languages. They go home after the day is done, revert to their native tongue. How would you ever perfect something like a language without some degree practice and immersion? And they do this with their generations. The 1st and sometimes 2nd generation kids will speak their native tongue first, before learning English or French. It’s like the language they should speak to effectively work and live in Canada is an accessory. The govt at all levels encourage this by having driving tests and forms in other languages. And don’t get me started on the pockets - Brampton for example. The politicians kowtow to the voters and give in to them having huge temples, and nonstandard shopping complexes. It’s a running joke how many Indians will be living in the same house, renting from other Indians collecting money under the table in completely unsanctioned and illegal rental scenarios. Companies set up by Indians, to service Indians. So they don’t even care to present as Canadian business with English / French. I’m in the midst of charting my family’s exit from Canada. It’s become something entirely unrecognizable. Where those who know how to game the system get ahead, those of us who play the rules - stay behind. I’ve worked my way up to being upper middle class. I’m about done paying for Indian “students” who later claim to be refugees. Who are now claiming to be in gay relationships, to support their refugee cases. It’s all a joke.

Indians are not dirty, and we don't eat poop, that guy who said all these horrible, nasty things shoes how much he hates Indians, it's true that this place has a huge indian community, but as long as they're harmless, they don't don't violate laws they must stay, look indian people contribute towards the economic growth of any country they reside in, ofcourse some indians lack civic sense, but that doesn't mean everyone is like that ??!! In America, Drugs has taken over, almost 30% people are homeless, burglary, theft is common, Cops will do nothing, Psychopaths are on the rise, Murder, break ins, killing by guns, accidents, are rising, Trump is weaponising ICE and killing USA citizens, putting kids in jail for no reason, complete chaos, no jobs are there, no buses, trains for easy commute, Relationships are broken, nobody is happy in all the western countries, divorce, cheating, and mind you, most indians are contributing towards the economic growth of USA, all the software engineers from India, now you're Deporting them as if your citizens are all geniuses, Indian community is not at all a problem, your mindset towards us, is the problem, this is racism, this is discrimination, America is supposed to be the origin and flag-bearer Of democracy, do something about that, other than Focusing on people who are residing peacefully with you guys, yes you have the law and order, enforce them on everyone, but don't blame them just because they're different, different in colour, religion, accent etc.

Unplanned immigration policy of present government is causing problems like employment housing and also in some extent in culture. * Government is not encouraging entrepreneurs in creating labor oriented manufacturing companies. Companies those employing more labor should be less taxed. BYE CANADIAN Only. HI TAX for imported goods. * Build thousands condominiums by government and rent them to low income people. Decentralized from major cities. * Lower the TAX like USA * Implement Health insurance like USA. Easy Medical loan who needed. * Women should be encouraged to take babies and raise kids for population growth. Increase child benefits and handsome pregnancy award to give birth. Maternity benefits for 3 years. * Culture is freedom of choice on one hand and it should be practiced in private places or in closed boundaries. There should not be any national culture or majority culture. All should respect each other and don't try to impose anything to others. So no public display or disturbances by culture issues. * Omitting bilingual system of English French. It's very stupidity. In office or workplaces ONLY English Please. Quebec only French. Not both. Government language only English. In private places you speak anything but outside only English. It could be broken English but English. It's important. The solutions are in front of us, government don't want to act

I am not racist in any way shape or form- my grandfather was in Germany and he was on the Beach in Normandy. He saw his friend die in a foxhole beside him and my grandfather came home with shrapnel in his leg. His suffered all of this to give us our freedoms and a safe place to live. One of my uncles would never speak his language - Italian in front of anyone that didn’t understand it. I asked him why not? His answer was simple “its’s a rude!” Such eloquence from broken English. I am sick of not being allowed to stand up for my way of life, my culture and belief system without being accused of stamping on somebody else’s! I am Catholic I pray at home or at church in my car out on a walk! Nobody is subjected to it or restricted by it religion is a deeply personal thing we have churches and religious places of gathering that are everywhere that have been permitted when other countries would absolutely not allow such freedoms but it still is not enough and we are wrong for being upset by their intolerance and rudeness. I am disabled - if I was not married I would be living on the street. Students immigrants are given better housing and more money to survive on than me - who was a part of this workforce and a taxpayer from the age of 12 I have had some sort of job until I was injured at work. We aren’t racist we are fed up, abandoned and disgusted with out social safety net being handed out to others who do nothing but complain that it’s not enough! I just want to be able to survive in my home country - the country I have paid taxes into all my life. Is there another country in the world that puts itself and its people last as Canada does??? I am so happy people are starting to speak up. Sadly, I am changing. I am becoming angry. Angry at immigrants and the system. Am I becoming racist? Or just so lost at how things seem so wrong. My main upset is for my teen son. Turned 16 after Christmas. So excited about looking for a part-time job, earning some money, getting experiences and (unbeknownst to him ) expanding his social circle. This excitement came from me. LIke all us Canadians who remember our first part-time jobs (mine was at a McDonalds), I regaled my son in stories of that first part-time job. How much I learned from it, and the so many benefits it would have for me as I got older. He listened, and couldn't wait to turn 16. Also, like most parents, I raised him on the benefits of working hard in school, getting good grades, learning, getting involved, etc. Do these things son, and you will have a good future. He listened. Honours student all his life. Played on school teams. Performed in talent shows, Volunteered his time, etc., etc. Not a bad resume for a first time teen seeking a job. It is now heading into September. He has applied at all the traditional teen job hotspots, (all the fast food joints, grocery stores, drug stores, etc). Dozens of resumes, online and in-person applications. Not a single response. Then I walk into the local Burger King. Not a single Caucasian, Black, Hispanic, Indigenous, or Far Eastern employee. All East Indian (or Pakistani). Suddenly I am really noticing this trend everywhere, especially in the franchise fast food industry; especially upsetting when I even see it in a Harvey's (even more Canadian than Timmies). It's either East Indians or Arabs. I don't know for how long I have been hearing about diversity and fair hiring practices (which I have always supported); but to see this trend makes me furious. Are the owners of these franchise exempt from fair hiring practices? Are they not taught we are a diverse country? This is wrong. I want to finish with two sad situations which we should all be concerned about. When my eldest was looking for part-time work after the pandemic, he walked into a Mr. Submarine. He asked if he could leave his resume or fill out an application. The Arab cashier told him in broken English they were not hiring. As he was walking out, a young Arab man walked in. He approached the same cashier and asked for an application. She gave him one. WTF. My last comment, is the most concerning of all. My 16 year old, who works so hard at school, and at everything he does, recently commented, after yet another non-reply after handing out a slew of resumes, "Dad... what's the use of working so hard if I can't even get a job at McDonalds." I wonder how many other Canadian teens are feeling the same way. Not just white teens. Black, Hispanic, Indigenous and East Asian teens. Seems the broken English East Indian and Arab teens and young adults aren't asking themselves that. How long until my son thinks I am just spewing BS about this hard work thing? This is not about racism. This is about fair hiring practices, especially in more and more franchises; however, I do find myself listening to more and more of these videos, and find myself developing sucb negative feelings towards these two cultures. This is not Canadian. To be thinking this way, especially, is not Canadian. What do we do? Speak up, and we are racist. Stay quiet, and our teen kids move into adulthood without job experience, money put away, or just having a life experience that any of us over 30 (no matter our race) experienced. Something has to change; but I haven't a clue how to do that.

American here that has extensive relationships in Canada. We don’t want this tariff war but the tariffs being implemented first by the Trump administration on behalf of US were punitive for violating USMCA and tied directly to the border defects. This was made known in advance and you repeated empty promises. Take your medicine and get well fast. Instead of doing that, you are taking an action that will beget reciprocal tariffs. Implement $30B and Trump will add $30B….add another $125B later and Trump will add another $125B. Heads up….America wants good partners and looks forward to being past this as well. In the meantime, we are prepared to pay more (or live with less) as we get back up on our feet. We have a lot of internal healing and cannot carry any other countries right now. Not sure if that was ever a good thing for either of us. Time to heal our broken ways ….sorry if you got used to our last administration being feckless.

I know that most everyone I know thinks Trump is the complete worst thing to happen to the US ever. Hearing such a clear factual speaker really brings me back to being so inspired for the future listening to my favorite US president, President Barack Obama ❤ and it also reminds me of how we could have and should have had the intelligent and overly qualified Kamala Harris as our President. I support Trump and I support MAGA. However a president needs to keep his word and Trump appears to have broken his word here. He asked Canada to reign in illegal immigration to the US and Canada complied. He said do something about fetanyl and Canada did. Trump said the tariff's were because Canada was not acting on these but now they have and we imposed the tariff's anyway. We look like liars and cheats. \nEven with Mexico we threatened tariffs if they didn't help with crackdown on illegal immigration, fetanyl, and drug cartels. Mexico complied and is also helping us. And we still slapped tariffs on them. We lied to Mexico too. \nAnd now we want everyone to trust us to negotiate a peaceful end to the Ukraine war with Trump threatening more sanctions on China and the EU. What the heck should they trust us and believe us after what we just did. \nWhen it comes to defining your character your willingness to keep your word overrules absolutely everything else. Our president gave his word that if these countries took certain actions there would be no tariffs. They did and now he slapped them both in the face with sanctions anyway. He broke his word. This is a dishonorable action. I hope it does not escalate from there. \nIf it was about promoting or building domestic industries, I think the Canadians could have helped us with that but now.... good luck now that bridge has been burned.

Nothing I see suggests to me that the people we've entrusted with enforcing our laws and our constitution will come through for us against this coup that has broken with democracy and simple decency. I feel sick, sad, angry, and scared with everything going on right now. As a veteran, my heart is absolutely broken.\n\nWe're stuck between a rock and a hard place right now. And very few of us have been able to save up enough to move. And moving to another country is incredibly expensive and difficult.\n\nI did not vote for Trump. Many didn't. I'm American, I'm cheering for Canada. Our government has broken its word to yours. I do not believe that Trump's actions represent the wishes of most Americans but many of them DID vote for him (and the utterly spineless Congressional Republicanswho enable him) and all of us are going to pay the price, quite literally.

As a Canadian who lives in (largely French-speaking) Quebec, I don't know if our gov't even NEEDS to tariff American consumer goods, the people here are already boycotting US goods and companies en masse. EVERYBODY is doing it - and the pace isn't going to recede anytime soon. Even after the Orange Turd is long gone, trust me, Canadians will remember this! The American state has proven it cannot be trusted. They have unilaterally broken the trade agreement (negotiated by the previous Donald J Chump administration) on the flimsiest of reasons, the 00.2 % of fentanyl that flows over the border into the US from Canada. That deal now obviously not worth the paper it was signed on.

It’s horrible that all of us In the US have to face the consequences of Trump’s insanity, and be labeled as traitors on the world stage. This is disheartening... this means that my husband will never be able to live with us. My children will grow up without their father, and for some reason, Canadians are OK with Canadian children growing up in a broken home. It's going to take 35 months, for my husband to be able to immigrate to this country. That's 2 1/2 year that my kids won't have a dad, our son especially is suffering. He has a serious disease, is often hospitalized, and I'm a married woman living as a single mother. Now I'll need to rely on the government for more financial support, and my 6 year old is actually depressed because his dad is years away from being with him. I work full time, have a great home, and a side business. But now I'll need to depend on meds and disability support to take care of my child, when he has an ablebodied father that can support us, especially when our child is in one of his regular hospitalization.
