11:23 how can you say you want due process while also basically denying the right to appeal
|
| 2026-02-27 | 0 |
It is absolutely wild the difference in immigration now vs pre-2015. I had a brief marriage in my early 20’s to a man that was a Turkish PR and when we had our child in 2012 - back when Kenney was minister - we were unable to get a 3 week visitor visa approved for his mother and 17 year old sister to come to Halifax from Istanbul to meet the baby because they were considered at risk for not leaving. This is despite my former MiL providing documents showing she had property, a business and an ailing husband to return to. They appealed the decision once, the result was the same and they were then told they couldn’t re-apply for a certain length of time. We ended up taking the baby there when he was a few months old as it was so much easier. Now everything’s a free for all

When your claim is rejected then you should not go back out the front door but rather you're taken out the back door to a bus that takes you to a waiting plane to your home country. Appeal from there

Immigration is a federal responsibility, not provincial and Canada should remain a welcoming country to all immigrants imo, but, if you're here on a work or student visa, newcomers should have to prove employment, training, full-time enrollment, and residency on a quarterly basis. It would drastically limit people becoming ghosts in the system. Refugees and asylum seekers should be allowed 1 appeal only and removed immediately if their claim has been denied. A 90-day grace period should be enacted to get their paperwork and affairs in order. If you're here for a better life, steps should be taken to ensure you're actively trying to accomplish that goal until citizenship is granted. Jmho.

I would day no refugees get anything beyond emergency or maintenance health care. And no appeals.

Haters...pretty pathetic. But I guess they are appealing to their base....

The liberals will give them citizenship, the courts will do nothing and if ordered home they will appeal.
|

Well if there is anything to learn here, it is that you should be careful what the news tell you. Even if their reporting appeal to your ideology

The white farming town way of life appealed to outsiders, so now they will make it like India. This is happening because they dont want to live in their home country, white western countries appear safer, cleaner, and more inviting, who wouldn't want to come and live off that sweet white culture that created a community and culture that others flock to... just so they can refuse to assimilate and make that once inviting place like the place they ran from.

and how many are here illegally yet nothing is done to remove them
$4400 to have 1 illegal removed
and how many Ten's of Thousands wasted in appeals
each claimant should have to be informed IN PERSON that way they are deported the same day

Bill C-12 is a serious attach on the Canadian juridical system allowing the minister in charge to interfere with legal process of any refugee at any time , even before the legal process starts the minister in charge can terminate the file and can stop the legal process. Furthermore, there is no recourse, i.e.
the decision is final and can not be appealed before court !!!!!!!
C-12 is is a very serious attack on the Canadian juridical system and the legal process of refugees.
This bill was tailored by a group of hatemongers, Zionist liberals to target Muslims !!!!!

If given a fair review and able to provide their case and a right to appeal then…..?

This is an immigration and refugee lawyer who owns a law firm and actively represents refugees/asylum seekers and immigrants from other countries who want not wish to become fully Canadian citizens
My very important question to her
As the principle
Is how are you paid for your legal services and representation
Lawyers always tell me they can be referred to by
Law society of Canada
For a 30 minute free legal consultation
But once that is paid out by that association that is where lawyers and para legal professionals pay dues to join
Then it’s up to those professionals to charge
Hourly fee flat rate
And
All additional charges associated with the file/case law once opened and documents signed
So how much does it cost to
1.
Refugees claims
2.
Asylum seekers claims
3.
Immigration claims
4.
Detainee claims
5.
Deportation claims in the form of
Appeals
How many can they have
Who pays these
professionals?
When media such as
CBC
Also government employees who are paid by the federal government
Do not ask these questions
Which are again
Paid to NGOs
By us poor taxpayers!!!!!
Towards these professionals who represent economic migration and only cost us
Canadians more money

If someone scam the system, why those have the right to appeal???
|
| 2025-12-21 | 0 |
hey only the fkn stupid get laughed who listen to this bullshit - fact check what you read from these idiots
1. You can enter Canada with "One Click" and no security screening.
FALSE. While the "One-Touch" digital system exists to speed up paperwork, every asylum seeker must still provide biometrics (fingerprints) and undergo a security/background check against global law enforcement databases upon arrival.
2. Denied claimants keep their health benefits.
TRUE (But temporary). Benefits continue as long as the legal process is active. Because Canada allows for appeals and judicial reviews, a person whose claim is initially "denied" by the board is still considered to be "in the process" and keeps coverage until all legal appeals are exhausted.
3. There are 500,000 "lost" people due for deportation.
FALSE. This number is a massive inflation. It likely refers to a total estimate of all people in Canada with expired visas (including students and workers). The number of people specifically "wanted" for deportation after a failed refugee claim is estimated to be closer to 30,000–50,000.
4. Refugees get dental and vision care that some Canadians don't.
TRUE. The federal IFHP program does cover basic dental and vision for claimants because they aren't eligible for provincial health cards yet. Many Canadians only get these benefits through private insurance or specific low-income programs, though the new Canadian Dental Care Plan is currently closing that gap for seniors and children.
5. 10,000 people "vanish" from the system annually.
UNVERIFIED. This was a specific estimate given by a union head during testimony. While the government tracks "abandoned claims," they don't officially classify them all as "vanished," as many are eventually located or leave the country voluntarily.

Permanent residentency shouldn't be an option for anyone. It's like that in many other countries. If an immigrant gets involved in serious crime or t*rrirism they should be immediately deported without appeal.
|
| 2025-11-21 | 1 |
There should be no appeals after a decision is made, no welfare, no healthcare. Then they should be held in detention for deportation.
|
| 2025-11-21 | 0 |
Asylum seekers who commit serious crimes here get a lessor sentence as not to affect their claim. If their claim is denied they appeal and still get $$ during appeal. The asylum seekers go thru many countries to get here when they should be intercepted before arriving . Our taxes go up to pay for all this.

Good journalism, it's good to get out and hear what people are thinking. In viewing, it occurs to me that it's hard for white people, and maybe Christians, to understand some Asians. I'm an American, so-called white American, and love Sanatana Dharm, or what most people call Hinduism - that term should soon be forgotten. Anyway, this video shows a variety of people called Indians but whom are vastly different in belief. So much so, they maybe fighting in India but abroad, they stick together. Islam and most Indian philosophies (they are not religions as there is no overarching institution or organization) feed the "devotees" several times a day...it is a part of the culture, shared meals with those who share faith. The Indians, they basically want a better life and will send money home. Muslims will buy land through a trust and then buy more and more. I don't know about Canada, but there are no such cultures in America - well, the Church has bought a lot of land but does nothing to serve people. The Mormons have land and a strong daily schedule, some community churches have very strong programs, but as a whole, The Church has done nothing to make itself appealing and therefore, there's no opposite or equal force. What to do? and as far as assimilating, yes, they should, but to what? Should they start playing hockey, drinking beer, etc. The second gen might. The West has lost it's way and religion isn't the solution but a culture not so decadent would be a good start.

Good idea to toughen up on fraud. Could we also get Michelle Remple to tackle that fraud from at Loblaws grocery chains while she is at it? Maybe she could take on the banking oligarchs too? Naw! That wont appeal to the christian fundamentalist racist base she is trying to cultivate for her base. More theater from our political class.

Canada has changed significantly in recent years, and I believe our post-COVID immigration policies have played a major role in the challenges we’re facing today.
Here’s how things went off track: Many individuals who couldn’t pass the IELTS (English proficiency test) entered the country on visitor visas or through spousal sponsorships—some of which were questionable or fraudulent. During that time, the government was converting visitor visas into work permits with little to no scrutiny. Background checks and rejections were rare.
Meanwhile, colleges rapidly expanded their intake capacity—understandably so, since international students pay three to four times more in tuition. At the same time, due to inflationary pressures, the government allowed international students to work 40 hours per week instead of the previous 20-hour limit. This created a new, ready-to-work labor force in just a year or two, heavily impacting the retail sector.
As a result, a large portion of retail jobs shifted toward a single ethnic group, while many Canadian citizens found themselves sidelined. One key factor was flexibility. Many immigrant communities—particularly Indian—were more willing to accept irregular hours and last-minute shifts, often adopting a more compliant, “yes sir” attitude that employers found appealing.
However, I’m already beginning to notice changes in the retail landscape, likely due to the government finally tightening immigration rules.
Going forward, we don’t need to close our doors—but we do need smarter immigration policies, with proper checks and balances, to ensure fairness and sustainability for everyone.

As a person living in India, my appeal to the Canadian people is don't let "asylum seekers" from India into your country without proper vetting. Legal migration of skilled labour is one thing you shouldn't be looking out for. They're already westernized.
What you need to look out for are those that immigrated illegally. Please deport them, honestly.
A lot of these self declared asylum seekers are people who've commited serious crimes here in India and running from the Law.

I am a long-standing anti-Canadian, and I am standing with Canada in this. \nTalk about a dire situation.\n\nJust as the new Snow White, 47 has achieved almost complete world unity, by doing something the majority of us collectively hate.\n\nOutstanding, 47, you are making Keir Starmer and Justin Trudeau look appealing and competent... No mean feat ??

I believe Canada and Mexico will fold and play chicken. Trudeau's appeals to US voters showed Canada lacks courage. On TV, Trump saw many Canadian leaders squirming and making threats. Look at China - Xi stayed silent and implement counter measures.
|
| 2025-03-05 | 0 |
You can tell immediately when he starts speaking to Trump, because the language gets simple and dumbed down. 'Big things', 'greater things' and 'smart guy' is exactly the kind of language that appeals to Trump.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
He tried to appeal to him by calling him a “smart man” , he knows that may actually get Trump to listen, but man that must have been hard to actually say while keeping a straight face. ?
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
It’s going to be reciprocal.. so whatever you charge us , we are going to charge you … if you want lower tariffs .. appeal to your leaders to lower theirs and our will reciprocate. Have a nice day

Countries around the world believe they will be better served by appealing to the American people rather than appealing to Trump.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
You know Trump is beyond horrible when Trudeau is the preferred leader. Geezus, how low can the bar go. Trudeau, Trump is not smart - quit saying that. I realize you do it solely to appease him and to appeal to his fragile ego but quit it. Trump is many things - a racist, a rapist, a pedophile, a conman, a grifter, a criminal - he is not smart. Just check his records from Wharton - oh right you can't. He has threatened to sue if they ever released them. He has redused to take an IQ test which every other President has done. He knows he's not smart.

The freedom convoy won the first case and the appeal the Justin Toxic weak Trudeau possibly losing French Quebec.

I'm sorry, Mr Trudeau. I don't think Donald understands working together, fundamentally, as a concept. Appeals to partnership and friendship fall on the deaf ears of a narcissist. Are you still accepting applications for new provinces? I heard you might be interested in WA state or Oregon. Asking for a friend.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Justin, you are a charismic guy, and your hands are bigger than Trump's. What comes into our country across the northern border is the responsibilty of the American government, not the Canadian's. TRUMP, this should be your prioruty, not PM Trudeau's. His cute socks are far more appealling than your orange spray tan.

I believed the incompetent leader we have in the UK was the worst, but it appears that Trump and Vance make Starmer and Rayner seem appealing—and believe me, they certainly are not
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Level-headed, measured, amicable, educated, a real leader and statesman. Talking to an orange baffoon. I only disgree with Trudeau in one thing. Trump does dumb things cause he is actually dumb. And seeing that he is insulting people and allies left and right I personally would love for other leaders inventing fitting names for him paying him back in kind. Someone came up with Mango Mussolini, I had until now favored Orange Utan, but the Mango version is appealing. And lets face it, Trump's cabinet of circus freaks also literally begs to be ridiculed.

Trump, Vance, and Elon are greedy sharks who would sell their own family for enough profit. It is the downfall of the USA. Stand up and fight for your rights ??.\nIt's an election fraud. You've been lied to by Trump every day and blinded by his pseudo-charismatic appeal and now you're waking up in a nightmare.

Those tariffs are such a stupid thing to do... for every country they are doing this, USA is basically making the chinese products so much more appealing for them. It would be MUCH cheaper to exchange those products for chinese ones instead of paying the tariffs. Congrats Trump, you are so afraid of China that you are actually EXPANDING its influence on the world. \nChina has actually the chance of doing something really funny now: REDUCING tariffs for those affected by Trumps actions. Just imagine...

He is trying to appeal to Putin(Trump) as Canada is within striking distance from Russia
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
It’s most of the world, and sensible Americans who employ common sense and logic vs tRump and his neofascist agenda. In professional wrestling terms, the U.S. has turned “heel,” but the now occupant of the White House, who should’ve never returned, always has been one. I don’t understand his appeal, and why so many Americans have been sucked into his orbit.\nI don’t want this, many tRump voters don’t want this. This’ll adversely affect the world, and will do nothing to reduce the nearly $2 trillion deficit. tRump’s tax cuts for the wealthy, and fElon Musk’s austerity measures will, and already are raising unemployment, and will further increase the divide between the wealthiest and most marginalized among us.\nThe U.S. siding with Russia, the two countries having the biggest nuclear stockpiles, is a threat to the world.\nIf WW3 starts, it won’t be because Zelenskyy won’t act to end a war in which his country was unnecessarily invaded, it’ll be because of Russia’s invasion of it, and the U.S. turning its back on its now former allies.\nThose of us in the states who oppose tRump and his alliance with Putin need to continue to stand up, speak out, and perhaps even do more. We’ve never seen anything like this before. Hate to say it, but this could very well be the beginning of the end of what was once a great nation. I’ll end this with a quote from FDR.\n“The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerated the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That in its essence is fascism: ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power.”

Our people of America voting this damn guy into office, I don't get what was the appeal to have this type of leader for our nation. We are just in a sh^^ty place at this moment. This is not what America is about and sad to say this may be the destruction of our nation by having such poor leadership, how dare he spoke about Biden or Obama.

Make no mistake, Canada faces an existential threat in Trump. Trump has accomplished the normalization of lies such that he can lie about Canada to justify what he does. And many millions in the USA believe him. just like the victim blaming of Ukraine. Trudeau is right that Trump is intent on weakening us and i would add: along the way creating false pretext for coming in and “saving” us from our tyrannical and dangerous government. validating Russian behaviour where might makes right is part of the process for validating his expansionist goals. He will no doubt claim “nasty” Canadian behaviour like “Canadians are killing Americans by not doing enough on fentanyl” and that Trudeau calling him Donald is “unforgivable”. And all the lies will appeal to his base and justify Annexation. It has come to that
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
The only mistake Trudeau made was calling Trump a smart man.But I guess he was trolling him and appealing to Trump's fragile ego.

Why is it all the foreign leaders think they can appeal to the left Americans to change the mind of a maga lead Country? It's as if they want to insight a coup
|

The only thing I think I'd disagree with here is Trudeau calling Trump a smart man. I know he's trying to appeal to his vanity, but it still feels icky.
|

Trudeau gives Trump too much credit. Perhaps he is just appealing to his ego.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Well said Mr. Trudeau. I come from Germany and would like to support Canada. An appeal to the German government: import more Canadian products.\n\nOh, and by the way: how many languages does Mr. Trump actually speak?
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Smart guy Trudeau. Knows how to appeal to Trump with the biggest lie of all time: you are a smart man ?
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Trump is the ONLY ONE for Peace , NDP, Con & Libs are all played by Zelenski's warmongering to stay illegitimately in power since 2020. The country i live in is a Europeen farce. 51st will sound appealing when the Nukes starts blowing up. Look up Donbas's separatist, disposing of them to put guided missiles on the Russian Border and what REALLY started this . GOD DAMN, your ignorance is costing us World War 3 you bumch of imbecilles.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Mid terms are going to be very interesting. I hope the Democrats correct course and start appealing to the moderates who decide elections.
|
| 2025-02-23 | 0 |
Im Canadian and while the tariffs are gonna suck, I completely understand why Trump is doing it. Our government is an absolute clown show and what's worse is now the politicians and corporate media here have spun this whole thing as Trumps fault and alot of Canadians are falling for it buying into this whole US vs Canada BS. Like this all coulda been avoided if our politicians would've actually fixed the border YEARS ago, instead of legalizing heroin, making a gender neutral national anthem and making it illegal to misgender someone.
\n
\nHonestly I'm so embarrassed to be Canadian these days that being the 51st state is pretty appealing. I support gun rights, low taxes, deporting illegals, love proper BBQ and work for a paycheck. So if anyone in a red state is hiring, I'm happy to relocate..
