It is absolutely wild the difference in immigration now vs pre-2015. I had a brief marriage in my early 20’s to a man that was a Turkish PR and when we had our child in 2012 - back when Kenney was minister - we were unable to get a 3 week visitor visa approved for his mother and 17 year old sister to come to Halifax from Istanbul to meet the baby because they were considered at risk for not leaving. This is despite my former MiL providing documents showing she had property, a business and an ailing husband to return to. They appealed the decision once, the result was the same and they were then told they couldn’t re-apply for a certain length of time. We ended up taking the baby there when he was a few months old as it was so much easier. Now everything’s a free for all

When your claim is rejected then you should not go back out the front door but rather you're taken out the back door to a bus that takes you to a waiting plane to your home country. Appeal from there

Immigration is a federal responsibility, not provincial and Canada should remain a welcoming country to all immigrants imo, but, if you're here on a work or student visa, newcomers should have to prove employment, training, full-time enrollment, and residency on a quarterly basis. It would drastically limit people becoming ghosts in the system. Refugees and asylum seekers should be allowed 1 appeal only and removed immediately if their claim has been denied. A 90-day grace period should be enacted to get their paperwork and affairs in order. If you're here for a better life, steps should be taken to ensure you're actively trying to accomplish that goal until citizenship is granted. Jmho.

Bill C-12 is a serious attach on the Canadian juridical system allowing the minister in charge to interfere with legal process of any refugee at any time , even before the legal process starts the minister in charge can terminate the file and can stop the legal process. This is an immigration and refugee lawyer who owns a law firm and actively represents refugees/asylum seekers and immigrants from other countries who want not wish to become fully Canadian citizens My very important question to her As the principle Is how are you paid for your legal services and representation Lawyers always tell me they can be referred to by Law society of Canada For a 30 minute free legal consultation But once that is paid out by that association that is where lawyers and para legal professionals pay dues to join Then it’s up to those professionals to charge Hourly fee flat rate And All additional charges associated with the file/case law once opened and documents signed So how much does it cost to 1. Refugees claims 2. Asylum seekers claims 3. Immigration claims 4. Detainee claims 5. Deportation claims in the form of Appeals How many can they have Who pays these professionals? When media such as CBC Also government employees who are paid by the federal government Do not ask these questions Which are again Paid to NGOs By us poor taxpayers!!!!! Permanent residentency shouldn't be an option for anyone. It's like that in many other countries. If an immigrant gets involved in serious crime or t*rrirism they should be immediately deported without appeal.

Asylum seekers who commit serious crimes here get a lessor sentence as not to affect their claim. If their claim is denied they appeal and still get $$ during appeal. The asylum seekers go thru many countries to get here when they should be intercepted before arriving . Our taxes go up to pay for all this.

As a person living in India, my appeal to the Canadian people is don't let "asylum seekers" from India into your country without proper vetting. Legal migration of skilled labour is one thing you shouldn't be looking out for. They're already westernized. What you need to look out for are those that immigrated illegally.
