Im an immigrant from Colombia living in Canada. I moved here because I legit wanted to study this program I was interested in and improve my English. After finishing my studies a tech company hired me and I've been working here for over 4 years. I have yet to hear from the Western media any concern for the human rights abuses of the Tibetans in occupied South Tibet by India. P.S. I am using the word Tibetan as an umbrella term to include the various Sino-Tibetan Burmese people (Monpa, Abotani (called Lhotba on the Chinese side),..etc. The Sixth Dalai Lama was a Monpa) in South Tibet. The Sixth Dalai Lama is known for his many love poems and romantic escapades outside the Potola Palace. Sadly, his hometown, Tawang, is now under India's occupation since 1951. The Tawang Monastery is the last major frontier monastery before the area merged into the tribal region. It historically enjoyed a close relation with the Beijing central government. It's the untouchables that are supposed to clean up all the trash and feces off the streets, but they never do. They don't get paid to do it. This is why their trash clean up is so poor as far as having trucks go around and pick it up to take to a landfill. There are very few untouchables and the other people won't work for the trash pick up companies, because they feel it's beneath them. So, they trash their country and instead of cleaning it up, they move to another country to trash it. My brother used to be a truck driver for many years. Every time he saw a truck rolled over on it's side, he'd say "Must have been an Indian", because every rolled over truck he ever saw was driven by someone from India. If you look at videos of the traffic in India, you will see lot of trucks rolled over, and you'll see no one pay attention to stop lights, stop signs and everyone just cuts off everyone. Westerners have a hard time driving in India because we are all raised with everyone in mind, not just ourselves. We are a community, not an individual. I think RocaNews you need to be a little more thoughtful into your questioning. I'm also feeling like it's a little lazy to do this research and not include certain data points with it. Or to actually create processes/opportunities to get "newcomers" and "long-time residents" to speak together, a division of people that is far more complicated than the division you add to in this documentary. Think about your values and what the goal of this is. Reflect on this before you just go do the same elsewhere. Look at the comments. What are you adding to/contributing to relieving tension within and between communities? What is your overall purpose.

I do not agree to keep immigrants who are not abiding by the immigration laws. If its expired, you need to go. No excuses. I am ok with enforcing the laws. You know all those immigrants from US are fleeing to Canada now because we don't enforce. Look at our crime rate. Has Canada offered any statistics on Immigrant Crime rates?

Discuting! There is family who were in Québec for 2-3 years and learn french, have a job and there children go to school and now are afraid to be deported! It is unfair because they were in a program who said that come to Canada and you will have citizenship if you adapt to our country. We change the rules in middle of the program!!! Those people left everything to come to our country! It's an honor for us that they choose to come here. We need people for specific jobs and send them back??? That is looking like Trump manner!!! It's unfair to focus our attention on just the Indians. Look into refugee applications from Iranians and Turks too, they number in the thousands. Iranians that can come to the country do not need to seek refuge from anything, the oppressed in Iran do not have the means to even buy a plane ticket to come here. Currency exchange businesses run by Iranians are a front for transferring and laundering money. Don't take it from me, Iranians openly admit it and are seemingly proud of it. Invest more in intelligence gathering and espionage to more effectively weed out these refuge shoppers.

The problem is there are just to many off them. Then too many have gotten very arrogant saying thing like this our country now. Taking over cities street with loud music for some wedding and to those who also live on the street cannot even park there car or live in there homes due to the loud noise. No permit, just taking over. The other problem the last few years immigrations number have skyrocket and 90% of them our Indians. The government should have never let such a large group from one country enter. Meanwhile as climate change happen a lot of countries will be in trouble and the people will need to go somewhere. Iran has only 3% of there water reserve left. India has ruin there country and so has China with pollution and dumping of heavy metel in river and lakes. Meanwhile the Caribbean is expected to be unlivable in 15 and 20 years. The USA we are expected to lose 100 miles of our coastline. That area is where 50% of Americans lives. Pretty soon it will be everyone for themselves if certain country do not look at the long term picture. Also the lifestyle we are living today is just not sustainable.

Immigration is a privilege, NOT a right !! WHY do these people seem to have so many rights. People who want to immigrate to Canada need to be vetted and bring something of substance to the country. The rest of Canada NEEDS to WAKE UP and follow suit. Hell, Canada looks way too much like India. Enough!!

Everybody wants a new life... But not everybody gets one, message for Immigrants lobby the Governments from where you came from, to use the money( Billions $$$) they receive to re-build your broken Countries. That money goes into their pockets, why does you plight have to be the Wests problem... We need to look out for our own for a change.
