Paying failed "refugees" health care is akin to someone sneaking in the back door of a warehouse on payday and demanding a paycheque like he actually works there.

She wants to allow 1000's of illegals to stay here. She wants to keep the free health care for them. Plus she supports actually allowing foreigners into our military is insane!

The Conservative Party. Needs much more fight ! They have to seriously distance themselves from the greedy pigs at the trough continuously giving themselves pay hikes. I want to see a Conservative party that fights for the safely of kids . Fighting against SOGI and Transgender mutilation. Fighting for the rights of Parents. Fighting against mainstream media. Fighting to protect law abiding citizens for standing up to government corruption and the health care authority that continues to spread false information . Fight for gun owners. Pushing for Castle Law . Fighting the corruption in the legal system that allows the prosecution of innocent Canadians and the violation of their charter of rights. If the Conservative Party isn't willing to fight, really fight, then we are still being governed by one big Uniparty playing politics.

As a tax payer and as a traveller I buy my own travel insurance when travelling out of Canada!! Other than what I am covered by Alberta Health Care-I pay my own dental, vision, chiropractic, massage, MRI I have to wait months or pay for speed myself, I pay for my own Prescriptions!! I am 64 years old and have been paying income tax for 46 years I don’t get squat from the government!! It burns my butt that refugees come and get put up in a hotel, fed and are given thousands of dollars per year on my hard earned money!! The libtards have abused their power to spend CANADIANS money!!

The minister was probably chosen specifically because she was inept and wouldn't know what was going on in her department; that reduces the likelihood that anyone would be turned away a while longer. As Lorrie said - just like my Political Science professor pointed out almost 50 years ago - immigrants largely vote for whoever was in power when they arrived in the country. A very large percentage of the people that they bring into the country under a Liberal government are likely to vote Liberal. That's a (practically) guaranteed stream of new Liberal voters to replace the old Liberal voters who have become disillusioned by the Liberal Party's actions. It has to stop. We need to vet EVERYONE who comes in and we shouldn't be giving them gold-plated health care until we've granted them refugee status or permanent residency and they should be told that up front so no one is shocked or feels cheated. If they know that and still come, they'll know what they're facing. If they choose not to come, they've made an informed decision.

And then we have fake refugees, students overstaying visa and applying for refugee status and playing our system, rejected applicants enjoying our health care system etc. What a mess and insult to genuine applicants who lined up and went legally through the immigration system.

In my opinion it makes no sense that the government does not know where all these people that are missing that are to leave, if they are getting money from tax payers or health care they have to know where they are to receive any of these benefits

Far as I am concerned I don't get free eye glasses or dental or hearing aids. I am a Senior and as far as I am concerned illegal and asylum immigrants should not receive free health care in Canada call me racist I don't care.

Why should refugees get better health care than Canadian taxpayers? I'm referring to physio and vision care which are not free to Canadians. Emergency health care yes, anything else no. One other point not mentioned that will put strain on health care and all resources is Bill C- 3 allowing children born or adopted abroad to Canadian parents to acquire citizenship .

Liberal voters are really poor at math. One woman said it cost $2 a week for a family of 4 in health care costs for refugees. She was off by $985 million for all refugees.

If you want a visit visa for US you are interviewed by an immigration official and these criminals would be rightly refused. Younwant to visit Canada just buy a ticket and you're in, no questions asked and claim refugee upon landing and get showered with free cash and benefits and way better health care than us plebs. Housing and health care for Canadians are out of control, something needs to be done and if this is what it takes then so be it, one of the main reasons is too many immigrants allowed in to the country. Canadian youth born here simply can not find entry level work, I am not anti immigration, I am for limited immigration with better vetting.

No, what divided the country was Canada's loose immigrant program under the Trudeau Liberals. Over a period of 10 years our population went from 35 million to 41 million people, mostly through immigration. That is an approximate increase of 17%. This increase caused problems with housing, health care, jobs and increased cost to taxpayers because of costs associated with providing services to fake asylum seekers.

No it's not dividing anything. Trudeau welcomed far too many people! We do not have the housing, infrastructure, Health Care system to sustain this population growth!

I feel bad that many of these people were given false hope, but this reduction was needed. In the early 2020's immigration levels reached levels that were simply too high. We had a population growth rate similar to Sudan. It strained our education, health care and prevented young people from getting jobs. We are a nation that welcomes immigration, but it cannot be at a level beyond our capacities.

As a Canadian, I work in healthcare in the disability sector, and I am extremely frustrated with what I am seeing the Indian population taking over the sector. There are ongoing issues with Indians who cannot communicate clearly in English with clients. This has resulted in serious confusion and, on several occasions, situations escalating into violence. Clear communication is essential in healthcare, and this failure puts vulnerable clients at risk. Clients are not being provided with proper meals that meet their dietary needs. Instead, food is often prepared without consideration for the client’s usual diet, which has caused clients to become physically ill. On top of that, basic food safety practices are not being followed at all. To make matters worse, the company does not provide proper foodsafe training, despite it being a legal requirement. There are also major professionalism issues. Some Indians arrive late to work—sometimes by hours—and give excuses with no consequences. I have documented these incidents and reported them to upper management, yet nothing is done. During shifts, 90 percent of Indian staff sit in the office for long periods, leaving clients unattended except for basic cooking. This can go on for days until white staff are scheduled. One incident that really stood out involved a client returning from a doctor’s appointment. When I asked how it went, I was told the client “had something on his head” and needed to use a cream. When I asked what the condition was or whether it was contagious, the Indian staff member did not know what the word contagious meant let me remind you I work in health care. I later learned from the client’s mother that it was a fungal infection information that should have been clearly communicated immediately for everyone’s safety. I am exhausted by the lack of standards, accountability, and training in this workplace. If you are going to work in healthcare in Canada, you must be able to communicate effectively, follow food safety laws, show up on time, and provide proper care. Lowering standards for the Indian population puts vulnerable people at risk, and management allowing this is unacceptable. If your coming to Canada follow are values and beliefs are stay in India.

I am from Canada and guess what Canada is NOT the greatest place to live anymore. The high taxes, shitty health care and everything else that come with it.

So by 2027 throughout Canada there is a potential for 50,000 immmigrants seeing their citizenship potential removed and deportation proceedings starting. All this just to reduce the flood of immigrants which has increased crime rate, homelessness, and health care crises across the nation.

"One Edmonton immigration lawyer" should acknowledge the "real life", "genuine" "harshest stories" that are being experienced by Canadians as a result of the massive numbers of immigrants that have taken up residence here in the past ten years. " For every positive to reduced immigration numbers, Canadians are going to discover that there will be negatives. The negatives might very well justify using the word "slash". Time will tell.
