A good friend of mine lives in Northeast Calgary and I drove to her house right before Nick Shirley exposed all of the fraud in Minnesota. You know who hates Indians the most? Other Indians. 100% honest truth, I worked with many Indian dentist and they blatantly said straight up "we want a white receptionist and assistant" then they offered me $8 over my asking wage. I don't mind Indians at all. They are hard working people and don't usually create problems. The Somalis are horrible. I studied Canadian and Indigenous history in school, and respecting that history matters. Assimilation doesn’t mean abandoning your culture, but it does mean understanding and respecting the society you chose to join. Cultural education should be expected, not optional. That said, one Indian doing something wrong does not make all Indians bad. Most Indian students and workers I know are hardworking, punctual, and serious about contributing. I’ve personally worked minimum-wage jobs for years, and what I noticed was not jobs being “taken,” but fewer Canadian youth willing to stay in or commit to these roles long-term. Indians didn’t replace Canadians, they filled vacancies that already existed. I also briefly volunteered helping the homeless, and what I saw was honestly shocking. Poor policy, weak enforcement, lack of accountability, and refusal from governments and individuals to adapt responsibly is what brought us here. Blame is easy. Honest solutions are not.

As a Brampton raised kid, I lived there from 97' till about 2023, I'm caribbean and we have a large indian/muslim/hindu population too on our island. (Trinidad) and the issue with Brampton is: Indian people will gladly intergrade, but Canadian borns won't welcome it. Walk with me- I'll use food for an example. Every other grocery store is middle eastern/asian/african in Brampton and its becomes harder finding more western style food. I love international food, I cook it often but if you're used to burgers and pizza and only know how to make spaghetti it feels like a 'take over' These people want what they want and even though all these places are free for you to also enjoy they don't like it cause it's too 'foreign' to them. It doesn't mean there isnt still a No Frills or a Walmart or Metro, but because the african and halal store are closer and more frequent it seems like more of a convenience to others and not to you. When people say we're multi-cultural, they mean 'yeah he's brown or black but he keeps it to himself' They aren't going to go to that Sikh temple giving free food, and only go to the church at the beginning even though they're welcome to both. It's the same for Diwali and other things, white people dont care to be interested in those things, and just wonder why they get to have it at all. I do agree with that indian lady at the beginning though, with lax immigration you come in feeling like you don't need to do anything to assimilate. They're doing themselves a disservice by only helping themselves. I hate stereotypes being perpetuated onto people but like that Pakistani guy said too, you live in a bubble and you don't pay attention to that. You can go days without speaking english to someone. You can't immigrate somewhere and shut out everyone already there. I get you may not feel welcome by the white people like the ones in the beginning and so you dont mess with them, and its easy not to. But there needs to be openness with helping everyone benefit from multi-culturalism and not just some of us. There are issues with immigrants not wanting to go outside their bubble and for canadians not to want to either, It'll be hard to (with the current issues we're facing as a country) to actually blend together more.

Try ordering food with any delivery company. It is the worst experience ever. I remember delivery people used to be so chill, probably because they could afford to live on minimum wage. I recently gave a driver a huge tip and requested it be brought to my door because I was having a movie night, they called me and said " COME OUTSIDE! COME OUTSIDE!" and I said "I requested for it to be delivered to my door", then he hung up and left with the food. Probably ate it. I had to reorder my meal and wait another hour. I wonder if they discussed how when Indian students who unalive themselves in Canada, the deaths are not treated as such. There are many families who have the remains of their kids (usually young males) repatriated and the death is left unclear. The gov’t of Canada has been obfuscating many such deaths. Was it the Canadian govt fully at fault for the deaths? Not quite… these students are often met with predatory individuals who take advantage of their vulnerable situations: such as predatory landlords who have sometimes 15 or more students renting one house, or unjust working conditions because the employer knows that the immigrants citizenship hopes are tied to the job, etc etc. Ultimately, it’s the Canadian government turning a blind eye to these realities and trying to make the deaths appear due to things other than unalive attempts. This shouldn’t be surprising considering the way the Canadian government has been pushing dystopian legislation around their medically assisted dying program (MAiD). Canada’s medically assisted dying program has the least guardrails of any program of that type in other countries. Not just this, but the legislation for MAiD comes at a time when Canada’s healthcare and mental healthcare systems are collapsing. Trudeau said he would address this with one his re-election promises in 2021: he promised 5 billion for mental health programs. I’ve worked in the field for almost 20 years with youth and that money never arrived, nor has any serious attempt to fund programs occurred since the brutal Canadian pandemic policies massively exacerbated the youth mental health crisis. Perhaps one day someone will be able to trace how the 5 Billion promised was send off in provincial transfers that did not benefit any programs and likely only helped pay for all the upper management, because Canada’s healthcare, education and mental health care systems are absurdly top-heavy. Canada becomes moral dystopian by the day, with regular folks (working class, blue collar, low-income) bearing the burden. As someone who comes from latin-america and has been travelling and touristing in Canada for the last 10 + years, and finally decided to take the step to immigrate to Canada through the front door, I can safely say you guys are losing your amazing country. My permit was not approved and you know what, I am not even mad. I see a lot of these people leeching off your government and for some reason they get preferential treatment over people like me who come to do things honestly, work, study, and adding to the country instead leeching from it. Like I said, I first came to Canada a little over 10 years ago, and I am telling you this country is changing for the worse. One thing I also noticed is how back then I always used to hear the memes of Canadians being nice and always saying "sorry". Those memes no longer exist. I know it doesn't say much, but what I am trying to say here is: The quality of the Canadian citizen is 100% decreasing.

I work with someone Sikh. He happens to live in Brampton. So what? He's a great guy and he works hard. He's probably first generation, and he's as Canadian as anyone else I know. I came here 25 years ago from India. While growing up, I would go to the terrace of my home and turn the antenna to get Cbc at night. I watched Air Farce One, the green show, NFB and Cbc and was always fascinated with Canada. I knew then when I was 20 that I will make Canada home. I wrote my IELTS ENGLISH test, studied here with good grades. And I did. I have an amazing career and young kids. And I have loved everyday of it. I have watched rerun of trailer park boys about 10 or so times already, watched Corner gas, watch hockey, I have embraced the weather, the people and the values this nation stands for. I have travelled coast to coast and to the great north. Heck I have been to more places in Canada with my job than other Canadians who are born and raised here. Now all I see there these ignorant, entitled effs thinking they can come and change the way of life. Like how Don Cherry said, they want the milk and honey but won't respect the values. I am effing done with this immigration and the government. Steven Harper was the prime minister when I got my citizenship and it was the proudest moment of my life. I really hope Canadians wake up. I know exactly why the racism has gone up and I don't blame the Canadians at all. These clowns bought it on to themselves.
