When the Irish potato famine occurred, those Irish immigrants were called "filthy, lazy, not true whites". When the Italians immigrated, they were called "filthy, lazy, gangsters, not true whites". Then the Chinese, Koreans, and Japanese came.....the cycle continues. The colour of the skin doesn't define the immigrant lifestyle, a country's history and culture is not based on race alone. I recall a date now known universally as 9-11. Aircraft bound for USA landing in my home province because US airspace was shut down. 17 large aircraft parked in St. John's (where I live), and 27 parked in Gander (much smaller town, but has a big airport). I've lost track of whatever other aircraft had to find a home and a home for their passengers. Today, over two decades later, this is a stain on the US executive. Not Americans, the executive office. Congress took a powder. The executive office should represent Americans, but it doesn't. I feel sorry for the American citizens who will suffer.

He's living in a fairytale world fighting an unwinnable war. I think the US is right to pull the plug on financial aid to try to pressure Zelensky to negotiate to end the war. Unfortunately, to end the war Ukraine will likely have to concede the land they lost. But the reality is Putin will never give that land back. But it's better than more people dying everyday. What kind of infrastructures/housing? Will they be based on monetary gain or durability. What kind of materials will they be made of? Will they be energy efficient or easily weathered down that repairs will be needed every so few years? What about weight distribution on the land? Easy to say, build more homes, just wish people took more time to think befor they speak and that greed wasn't at its forefront all the damn time, or control over the masses instead of unity. I am Cuban. I came to the US legally in 1967. My parents left their families and everything behind in order to give my sisters and me a better life in the freedom and democracy of the US. We flew out of Cuba the day after my 7th birthday. I was young but old enough to see the look on my mother’s face and my grandmother’s face to realize that they new they were never going to see each other again. We left a land ruled by an iron fisted dictator. It was the sacrifice of a lifetime for my parents to bring us kids here and now my sisters can’t understand why I don’t want to talk to them because they have voted for a man who wants to be a dictator, who disrespects women and took away their right to control their bodies(I have a college graduate daughter….what if someday she needs an abortion to save her life because the fetus did not develop right?), a man who is clearly a racist in every sense of the word, who only projects hate and division, but does everything he can for white billionaire men. This Mexican-American woman and my sisters disgust me. My sisters have betrayed my parents and the sacrifice they made.

70% of Mexico is uninhabitable. When America took the southwestern states from Mexico, it pushed their people south and squeezed them into smaller land areas. It's really sad. I believe that has contributed to the destabilization of Mexico economically.
