Affordable internet is indeed a problem, same for the cell phone plans they are too expensive because 3 reasons: 1 its a huge country so you need more cell towers to provide for everyone, it has a low population density so individuals have to pay more for it. Now those first 2 are unavoidable. HOWEVER the 3rd reason is inexcusable: The companies don't like to share their infrastructure with the competition. Everytime someone new comes by they need to build their own infrastructure from scratch. So even if telecom came to Canada it would still be super expensive because they'd have to build their own network from nothing because the existing companies are too selfish to share their infrastructure.

I have a work visa for the US and go there often. I go to many places that are not in the cities. I'm actually in South Dakota as I write this and find it to be a very pleasant place. I generally find everybody to be very friendly but can't help feel there are some topics that I just don't feel comfortable talking about in fear of triggering a strong response. I like visiting but would not consider moving there to raise a family. There is just a much greater chance of volitivity there. \n One time, while dinning out, I had a guy ask me, that because I didn't have a gun, what would I do if someone came to my home to rob me at gun point. I told him it never happens. But he insisted many times, but what if they did. I told him that it's not something I'd ever thought about and that I probably had a greater chance of dying on the plane ride home than being shot by an armed robber in my own home. But he kept insisting. I eventually told him I would help the robber take my stuff out of the house because that is what I have insurance for. I could not believe that this guy did not understand the concept of NO ONE (other then criminals shooting other criminals in the city) having a gun. \n I actually do have a long gun at my place in the country but that's to keep me safe from large animals that may come out of the bush. It is locked up in a gun cabinet by law. I would never think of using it against another person. I'd go to jail for sure if I did. Many of my friends hunt and have several guns but the restrictions on where and when you can use them and the strict storage requirements help ensure that they are not travelling around with a gun at hand. There are actually a few places in Canada where I've been that you do, or should, have to travel with a gun but these are remote areas of the country with large predatory animals. 99% of the population do not live in these areas.

I've been a caregiver for over 40 years and I just love it, but recently, I've been seeing a few people, including the HR Department and the people who hired me, try to surprise me bye popping up and the client was very upset because they didn't want to listen to her and a employee that was working with me,I wasn't aware of the problem situation that was going on, so basically I was set up with them saying that I wasn't taking care of the client honestly the client told them I've been helping them the most the employee said that I wasn't changing the client,,and I noticed that the trash Bin was being opened and I bought it attention to the client and she said be careful with the company and the co-worker that is working with us is lying on. Me and I brought it up to my supervisor and then she said that someone had said that I wasn't changing her underwear and she the client said that she would let the boss know but she came back from told me that I wasn't able to continue to work for them and I asked them why they said someone was coming from Africa to join their company and I Said that I'm not going to signing anything that is a lie ...

As far as I’m aware Venezuela can be really dangerous to live in. I might do the same thing if I was born there especially as a woman or someone with children. But even men want to live. Easy to say that you should band together to overtake corruption but harder to do it when your life is directly on the line. I wouldn’t want to lose a father grandfather brother or son even for the sake of my country. This is coming from a Texan. I’ve had illegals do my lawn care and construction. Many are just trying to make a living. They sit outside all day long in the summers by my local post office waiting for people to come by and ask them to work. Cheap prices, too.

The Canadian government website is written in simple English and French and is very straight forward and you can apply to come on your own, but people insist in going through agents who are just making money off of them. Please read the website in detail. The government hides nothing on their website. Don't blame the government and try to understand what some of the immigration lawyers and agents are doing to you. If you are not well versed in the English or French language, get someone to help you with the website and application. Stop paying unnecessary money and go directly to the government. The agents and lawyers will be doing exactly what you can do. Not all of them are genuine. The government tells you not to pay people money, come to them. There are refugees sleeping on the pavements. Why come to the country under those conditions. We don't have enough housing right now for people and rents at the condos are very high. A one bedroom apartment in Toronto is about $2,000 plus.

Please do you homework before coming here. Canada is a first world Country. Not a developing, or 3rd world nation. Obviously the cost of living is higher. Amenities and services have a cost attached to them. Someone has to pay for it right?

I am descendant of Latinos, and I do not agree with this administration has caused. I met someone in a Walmart parking lot from Venezuela. He had been here in Atlanta for 10 days and didn’t know anyone. He told me he came to the US because Biden promised all Venezuelans asylum and therefore be legalized in the US. So I genuinely asked him how his country was, and he said that things were very difficult; not being able to afford basic things, so then I said “well, I’m sure that is the result of the presidents decisions, most precisely socialism/communism,” I thought he was going to agree and he said “no, our president and former president had good ideas and plans.” My point is that all of these people coming from Venezuelan are fleeing their country because of the negative situation that sadly is taking place in their country, however their mindsets have been corrupted by thinking they deserve to have “free” things. All of these ppl will be legalized and they will be able to vote very soon, so these ppl will vote democrat because they were given this opportunity by Biden. Why are they not opening fire? I'm not sorry for your situation as we have problems here too. If you want to act like fools charging the gates to our border, that is an act of war and should be treated as such. One warning shot would have made them stop. Can someone tell me if Canada is a good place to move for a couple of years? I'm from the UK but lived in Spain for most of my life. The reason I want to leave Spain is because the average salary is low and job security I.E work contracts are all terrible unless you're in a big city like Madrid or Barcelona. Plus I live in a tourist/ retired destination so work here is seasonal as we are only busy over the summer time and trying to meet people around my age 20, 30s is difficult. I've heard so many good things about Canada from people I know but looking into some more I'm seeing that there's a big financial issue for those who plan to move over as the taxes are very high. I'm just looking to come over for a couple of years, save some money and then move back to the UK. If anyone that has travelled to Canada for a few years could let me know what its like now that would be great ?.

it's funny I moved to Canada a little over a year ago and I want to move back to Australia for some of the reasons you want to leave Australia and more. Housing affordability here is a pipe dream unless you like living near mountains and want a laid back life like the life in Perth, in Calgary. But Calgary's job market is not great and that pretty much extends to every province except Ontario and BC. Living cost in Canada is very high... compared to what I experienced in AU, this is more expensive than living in Sydney. (I live in Toronto but this extends to Vancouver as well.) The healthcare system is weak, inefficient and inconvenient. Bureaucracy is again very slow, inconvenient and in some cases so backwards. Banking is not great, super inconvenient, not people-centric, inefficient and very much backward imo.. work-life balance or quality of life is way better in AU. Infrastructure development is slow and not great at all for a world-class country and personally, I expected better from Toronto.. (I do understand why it is the way it is right now, some justified reasons but some not so much) Things I do give props to CA... Diversity and inclusiveness is not just marketing slogan like in AU.. I don't feel like an outsider here... Its incredible. Job market is here much better than in AU. If you're moving from a country like AU, you will feel how capitalism here is made to make more money out of you every step of the way. But also, you will see how you can use that system to make alot of money. I think Canada is a great place to live if you're an entrepreneur or business person and making money is a primary requirement. But if you're someone who loves quality of life and work-life balance and want to probably own a good house, right now CA is not there. Also this doesn't mean CA isn't great, its fantastic... but compared to AU, canada comes short in many fronts. Also I love the weather here even if we have a pretty long winter.

The biggest problem with this, it vetting. Why? Anyone that comes to a another country and does not follow the process of security, should do their best to get vetted. If no vetting, we will be letting people into the country that drains the country of monies for it's own people, allows criminal minds into the country and worse, someone that just want to comes to a country because it has Welfare.

They all have cell phones to orchestrate and come to our borders with free food and travel. Someone is funding them, since I know for a fact, cell phones cost a lot in their country. Since they are using physical force to infiltrate our boarders and demand entry with no vetting or proper documentation, like any other country would require, they need to be pushed back with adequate riot equipment or lethal force if necessary.

Yes and if these people truly believed in God and Jesus they wouldn't run from their countries but actually stay on the ground and stand strong in their faith that God and Jesus are going to help them persevere through all this. As a fully disabled American citizen with a child that doesn't even get $1,000 a month and there's no available housing at all where I live no waiting list to go on people on SSI disability don't get any extra housing help we're not offered separate housing are put on separate lists and low-income Able Body people or the migrants jumping the Border but I was born and raised here paid taxes and worked until my body literally couldn't anymore but I don't hear anybody bitching and screaming and crying about the fact that my son and I would be on the streets if it hadn't been for one of my family members stepping up and giving his housing after a lifetime restraining order issued during my pregnancy on my son's biological do do with domestic abuse situation. So for all of you that want to post your personal assumptions about homeless people because that's all it is unless you've actually been homeless or spent time around homeless you really have no clue what's going on in the homeless population except what you've been told by the same political talking head media bulshit that's been lying to everybody about a bunch of other stuff too.
