Guys, I looked at the GDP of Canada and Mexico on Google. About 2 trillion each. The US has 27 trillion. I'm not Canadian or American or Mexican, I'm just wondering: do these countries have anything to counter Trump with?

Turn off the lights in America! It can be done….Canada provides electricity to most of northern America. Every crisis in America has been helped by Canadians. Canada sends linesmen down to help repair power lines after storms. Canada will always help us, don’t doubt it. Trump and Vance r complete idiots. If Trump and Vance are in power for much longer, I can see the devil rising because Trump and Vance are Demons. I’m a 60 year-old disabled woman and if I could I would fly to the Ukraine and help them because my country is doing nothing only upholding Putin!

Please remember this Canada. It’s our politicians who have mismanaged our country for decades and brought us to the state we are in now. Ignoring climate change and creating National Debt that can never be paid. Most of us here in the USA love our friends to the north of us.

I know I will get attacked in the comments for this, but I grew up in the US watched many presidents come and go, and I have never seen the country that I live in turn so corrupt and evil in my life we have been lied to by our president. A man I did not vote for and it almost feels like it is turning into a fascist regime. As a US citizen who didn't vote for the president (Trump) we have who is corrupt, self- serving and would have gone to prison if he had not been voted as president. I too am appalled at what he and his minions have done already. \nI understand what Canada has to do to protect itself. I support Canada.I feel for the Canadian people. During the Second World War Canada punched way above its weight in supporting it Allies and defeating Hitler and the scourge of fascism. It’s not a country or a people I’d want to take on lightly but as Prime Minister Trudeau highlights this is going to hurt US citizens as much as Canadian.

if a country with a net deficit puts 25% tariffs on the net credit trader, and the net credit puts on 25%, the net deficit profits substantially overall, they collect more tariffs, consumers just buy local, so more national business growth etc. i.e. canada is screwed, the us does well out of this. if the us put on 100% tariffs on canada, that country would go bankrupt, and the us would be fine.

I've always respected Canada as a intelligent, polite but tough as nails country. I have not and will not forget how you helped liberate my grandparents by spearheading into their German-occupied country and for providing refuge for their royal family. I love Canada. Canada will always be our ally, but there appears to be some “one sided-ness”. As an Australian I am so proud of Canada my second favourite country -- well done. I'm not buying anything American and certainly won't travel there. Direct flights from Brisbane to Vancouver mean I don't even have to go over the US.

Canada (and many other countries) spent decades supporting the maintenance of US hegemony. Look what it got us? To a position where we're pretty much greatly dependent on, and at the mercy of the US. We need to invest more in our own country and make our own products. We should also trade with other countries regardless of what the US thinks of those countries. Trump wants Canada to put tariffs on China in the attempt to further impede that country's economic growth so the US will remain the economic hegemony. Never mind that a trade war with China would put Canada in an even worse position. Given the current events, I say we trade with China even more!
