the 70,000 students were coming in illegally i believe, 70k out of 1million+ that have come per year isn't so bad. I blame this whole situation 100% on the government and it totally does suck that these 70k people coming in are going to be deported but again there were and are so much scams that have been going on. If they lied and cheated on the system i don't think we should feel bad. Canada used to have higher standards. My family obviously are immigrant too but there has been no background checks, no proper procedure in the last few years and 2 races have been getting preferential treatment. Most if not all people that come in from Africa are left on the streets while the your country men, indian, and white looking are given a free house, food budget, and dont have to work.. As an Indian living in India, my advice to Canadians is that don't listen to their Demands, do what's best for your country and deport them if you have, but just keep them safe that's all.

I'm from Eastern Canada and its absolutely unreal how many Indians I see around. Not a single business have I gone to in months that doesn't have multiple Indians working there, or just Indians. You'd swear they were like 50% of the population. It's crazy what its doing to jobs for locals, both post secondary and not. Let alone housing. Its insane to be in an engineering field with colleagues still living with their parents in their late 20s and early 30s. \n\nI'm very worried for the future political discourse and social cohesion for this country in decades to come if the majority of immigrants that have been brought in are not deported. Some of the data shared is incorrect. For example you dont need 190k salary for mortgage. Even someone with an average income of 60k can own a home. Housing crisis is in major cities like Toronto, Vancouver the same like we see super expensive housing in Mumbai for example. \n\nPregnant lady does not have to wait for 30 weeks. That is completely incorrect. \n\nThe drug problem and the images that you share is from Vancouver which you mentioned already but that is not the case you see in Ontario, Alberta or any other province. Its like how Punjab has drug problem but it doesnt mean that Gujarat is the same when it comes to drugs. \n\nThe protests currently happening around deportation is also due to the fact that so many students from India were scammed by an Indian agent who sent them to Canada on fake admission letters. few points are absolutely wrong-\nCanada provides one time post graduation work permit(PGWP) only once after completion of study..They never promised to any international students to give PR or Citizenship but Canada gives you time to establish your comprehensive ranking score in order to get the permanent residency but these students who are protesting could not fit in that criteria, Thats why they are looking for the extension in their work permits which makes no sense actually.A fun fact a lot students can't talk in English here bcuz they hardly study or learn some skill. Your language proficiency is one of the main criteria to get jobs and later to get your PR here.\nCanada didnt promise that. Been there for the past 5 years and i gave up my PR and returned back to India, all these points are cent percent true except for the students deportation, initially this occurred due to fraudulent admission letters to Canadian academic institutions were one of the primary reasons behind the deportation of Indian students, the scams happened in India itself, similar issues surfaced with Australia...later on new provincial laws were updated in PEI etc, where students had to face the heat of deportation. To add on the problems racism and weapon culture is also increasing day by day which makes you feel insecure. Inflation in grocery transport real estate is peaking, buying home in canada is dream if you and your spouse aren't working.
