Please stay away from Canada I moved here and I regret it every day. I'm a citizen through my parents and getting my certificate took YEARS which stopped me from being able to go to school or work which means years of my adult life wasted that could have been put to much better use for something that wasn't even my fault. I also lost good opportunities too because of it!!!! Not happy especially since I genuinely needed the money. I won't forgive Canada for that. Also everything here is really expensive and the selection is just not very good. Also work opportunities are not as good as in the US. Anyways I finally got my certificate and got my life started up again just over 2 years ago, but I still often think of returning to the US after just being here for 4.5 years. I now warn some of my US friends not to go to Canada just for the hype if they mention it. I also know of a friend who moved here and left after 1 year, they came to hate it here.

Americans have really drunk the koolaid and don't realize that they are the only ones who think their country is so amazing. There are some cool things about America but nothing worth moving there for especially from Canada. I think the only people that would think America is so great are people who are running from some terrible country (probably couldn't get into Canada). I use to enjoy visiting America every now and then but in this climate there's not a chance you'll catch me even visiting.

I am of Indian heritage and from what I am seeing around the world its disgusting how Indians are behaving, its made me ashamed of having that heritage and its not just in Canada, they are destroying the reputation for all Indians, and you can't just say its only a small percentage. I was born and raised in England in the 60's, we respected the culture, and country we were in, and would never see this kind of behavior that we are seeing today. Step 1: Study at a legitimate school if you come here to study. 60-70% of the Indians, especially those from Punjab and Haryana study at these scam colleges attending bogus diplomas, often lured by agencies in India. How do you expect to get a good paying job with that diploma? Plus almost all these students barely speak any English. So you get automatically cornered to low-paying jobs at restaurants, fast food chains, etc. Working in the Canadian corporate world requires you to have the right skills and a good handle with English, which almost all these diploma graduates lack. I have not seen a single Indian student who graduated from UBC, McGill, McMaster, UVic, UofA, UWaterloo, etc struggle to find a job or get PR, and they almost always land good paying jobs.\n\nCanada has entered a correction phase. In the next 2-3 years, you will see a lot of these diploma students forced to leave the country.

Well nothing like that, I live in Canada and can verify that. Problem is quality of immigrants, especially student is trash in Canada, Australia and Europe. They come to shady universities for studies, work full time both legally and illegally rather than studying and at end of their education, they have a fake degree with zero value. Just like most of the new graduates in India who have a degree with no practical value. \nIf you have a good degree, right skills in tech and some experience, there are tons of opportunities in Canada. I cuss Canada everyday but that's because I lived 10 years of life - studies and work in USA. So whether I move to Canada or any other country in the world, I would do the same as US has no equal in the world. I lived in US for 10 years, then India for 3 years and came to Canada 3 years back. I would still move to India after getting Canadian citizenship, but not because Canada has something bad or India has something exceptional to offer, but because I want to live with my parents in India. Thats the reason I left US but came to Canada to get a backup.
