The Canadian government website is written in simple English and French and is very straight forward and you can apply to come on your own, but people insist in going through agents who are just making money off of them. Please read the website in detail. The government hides nothing on their website. Don't blame the government and try to understand what some of the immigration lawyers and agents are doing to you. If you are not well versed in the English or French language, get someone to help you with the website and application. Stop paying unnecessary money and go directly to the government. The agents and lawyers will be doing exactly what you can do. Not all of them are genuine. The government tells you not to pay people money, come to them. There are refugees sleeping on the pavements. Why come to the country under those conditions. We don't have enough housing right now for people and rents at the condos are very high. A one bedroom apartment in Toronto is about $2,000 plus.

There's a ridiculous homeless issue in the U.S. where I've met plenty that apply for jobs all the time and do not get hired. They even ask random people if they can work for them just for food, literally just for food. There are people everywhere that take things for granted including the U.S. but that's not the issue here. There are U.S. leaders that steal your money in taxes and retirement funds then misuse the funds. How is it fair for a hard working individual to have 30% of their gross removed from there paycheck then still required to pay the government when filing income taxes. You can buy a house, pay it off and never own it. The government is your forever landlord because property taxes are always due and are increased whenever authorities want them increased. Every country has serious issues.

What Americans do not understand is that there are people in other Countries who are starving because their Countries have gone bankrupt, or their government system has collapsed in those Countries. Venezuela, Brazil, Greece, Pakistan, Argentina, Haiti, Cuba, and a whole list of more of which media is not telling the American people. Canada doesn’t have an economy anymore: it only relies on an outdated 1970s immigration system to keep boosting its population growth by around 1% a year! The immigrants are required to bring in roughly $10k per person which quickly evaporates within the ‘economy’ as most new comers struggle to,find decent jobs in the first 1-2 years of their arrival. big problem with the housing is also trudeau taking in so many immigrants and refugees before having enough available housing for everybody. I think they were taking in 200k people a year. while we need atleast 1million new houses within the next 10 years in order to supply enough to the population. There was also an issue with forieign purchases where people from other countries were buying houses in canada and nobody living in them. Trudeaus votes comes from majority indian people and arabic since thats a lot of the population in canada, and to win those votes and get more hes friendly with them accepting a lot of immigrants from those countries, its not a bad thing since a lot are very well educated and their peaceful people for the most part, but the problem is there isn't enough housing. Even renting has become competitive , owning is near impossible without help. Trudeau really messed up the country, houses are riduclously expensive and they often go into bidding wars if in a good area, banks interest rates keep going up now, loans are harder to take out, sadly we need to limit the amount of immigrants that come into the country until the right number of houses are built in the country, if anything new and major cities need ot be build in other locations with jobs in order to get more people spread out around the provinces. Once there is enough houses and jobs i believe the doors should be open to whomever wishes to come (obviously with a background check) but until then there should be a limit so the houses stop going up.

According to refugee rules they have to migrate to 2 countries outside of their home country to seek asylum. Maybe Canada was not their 1st choice but a means to an end to get that 2nd country eligiblity for asylum. Now to what an individual country offers in protection is up to its citizens to change the laws not to complain about it.

My sympathy with Venezuelans, they are victims of socialist policies of Nicolas Maduro. But America is not a right place to seek refuge because America is getting screwed up very badly itself. They better board a ship and go to somewhere in Europe. Europeans welcomed the Ukrainian refugees, so there is hope for Venezuelans in Europe but not in America.

They came from other countries, through Mexico (a safe third country partner), through the US (another safe third country partner), and into Canada to seek asylum and refugee status, therefore they do not meet the eligibility criteria for sanctuary as they traveled through two other countries to get here.

Shame on those in here whining about what they don't get that refugees get. We have access to all of that and more. Did you know that the basic needs that are provided to refugees or immigrants must be paid back to the government? They get a loan, we don't just give people money because they want to live here. Once they get their SSN and are deemed fit(usually means they speak and write English) for work they are required to find work. Many come from war torn countries or unable to provide food for their children or a safe place to live. Are you that unfeeling you don't want to help them? Canada used to be compassionate and helped others. It wasn't so long ago that our relatives immigrated here for a better life.

The USA are a secured country, anyone trying to flee it through that illegal passage should not be considered as refugees, but as immigrants who are trying to get in illegaly.
