It’s crazy to see all the comments about turning her back on family. You do understand all illegal immigrants are criminals as they didn’t go through the legal process to come to the USA. She doesn’t want to support criminals and there is nothing wrong with that if anything it sounds like she wants then to do it the right way so they never have to worry about it again

If you are a international student you come for Quality education and take that quality back to your country to help better it! Period you don’t come here with the intention for migration or PR! You can apply for legal immigration after you graduate and after a year or more apply! Your countries issue and political stuff are your countries problems don’t bring them here! It’s your responsiblity to do your best to help make it it better! Don’t take advantage of our system illegal migration is a crime and you get punished for it!

First of all:\nEducate yourself TLDR about the difference between illegal immigration (which is already a criminal act and if in large enough numbers an invasion) and legal immigration. They are NOT the same. Its like confusing a paying customer at the store (legal) with a shoplifter (illegal immigration).\n\nIf CA and NYC, then that's easy, send all of those people to those 2 states and see how long these states will last.\nSecond, its easy to make a country take back its own people, since you have the largest military available. I have cousins who are illegal immigrants, I’ve been trying to sponsor my wife to come here legally and it has been the most dreadful process I’ve ever been through. Meanwhile these guys are here already receiving food stamps and housing. I make 220k a year. I pay my fair share in taxes and don’t need any government assistance. I’m definitely for returning illegals that are jamming the immigration system.

It's wild to me that anyone thinks that any amount of illegals immigration is ok, if one stranger jumps my fence it's a problem but if 40000 or more a month show up no one cares? The entire thing makes no sense, who are they what diseases do they have? Are they dangerous until they can legally show up with all that and ask permission they should just be dumped on the other side of the border and banned for life for committing the crime of trespassing

I see a lot of (what I assume is MAGA) crying about confusing illegal and legal. Clearly this video was mostly about illegal. But the few charts with legal immigration data included show that there is a turn against both legal and illegal immigration (see chart on left at 1:50 ). Seems like MAGA victimhood seeking, as per usual ? Also note the massive run-up in Trump's 1st term in encounters (tripled from 2017-2019) ? He was only saved by COVID collapsing the economic drive for illegal immigration. And even then, most of the run-up post COVID lockdown was in place by Jan 2021 ( 3:30 ). So he does not have a great 1st term record, despite the hot air. Let's see this time, will be interesting to have the massive military deployment needed to detain, intern and eventually deport the 12m or so total ? Note again how that number has been basically constant over very slightly declining since 2005 see at 4:15 . Hmm, manufactured crisis? ???? Can't wait for the induced Trump inflation. ? Temporary protections and waiting for asylum processing are both legal recourses, i.e. the government actually can't do anything to kick them out because it's written in the law. There is a very big problem with trump's xenophobic screed to create fear and hate of immigrants. Instead of addressing the need to fix the difficulties immigrants face to enter the country legally or how many legal immigrants we will need to grow the country - we have demonized immigrants for trying to make a better life in the US.?

A parallel society forms, where people learn to bypass hurdles with the help of others already entrenched in the system. This would naturally lead to many illegals 'deporting' themselves in search of countries where they can blend in more easily. But instead, Democrats often seem to do everything possible to favor their presence, especially in certain cities.

You really did a piss poor job here of distinguishing the difference between legal and illegal immigration. I'm completely on board with legal immigration (within reason). The US is a nation of immigrants. That does not, however, mean I support it being an open field day at the borders for illegals to come pouring into the country completely indiscriminately and unchecked. Besides distinguishing between legal amd illegal immigration, it would be good to know the numbers behind the types of undocumented immigrants. Many of these 11 million plus people actually belong here in the US, such as the Haitians and the Deeamers (which y'all neglected to mention). But if your asylum claim has been rejected or if you've overstayed your visa (which accounts for many), then deportation is fair. But we need a grand compromise. A path to citizenship for Dreamers and people who are under special arrangements (again, like the Haitians), deportations for most others, with a new visa regime for people who have been working in parts of the economy that - to be blunt - Americans won't.\n\nAlso, most of the people here without proper documents are Mexican. And most came through Mexico. AMLO let that happen. Sheinbaum is going to need to address that. Many Mexicans are also greatly unhappy with what's been going on for the last few years.

My main concerners are human decency and the chance that a legal immigrant will get caught up in the mix.\n\nFirstly, i am concerned we will return to the concentration camps of the 1900s and the people in them wont have adequate supplies and support ehile they wait to be deported.\n\nSecondly my concern is for those on a green card or other form of legal immigration getting caught up in the mix and not being let go. I guess this also includes children of people here illegally who were born in America.\n\nFinally i think we need to stop thinking of asylum seekers as illegal immigrants. If you have come here and submitted the proper paperwork to be here then you should be allowed to stay until your paperwork has been processed.

The video is a bit biased in the presentation of their argument. Most people are still pro immigration just that they want legal immigration.

Many, many Americans make a distinction between legal immigration and illegal immigration. The center and right are supportive of LEGAL immigration, as it is part of the unique fabric of our country - but are against ILLEGAL immigration. The American left tends to purposefully muddy the waters on this issue, so they can make anyone opposing illegal immigration look like they oppose ALL immigration.\n\nThis is also a distinction that is often muddied or glossed over by Europeans when they try to understand American politics. In Europe, being opposed to immigration, generally means you’re opposed to all of it, legal or illegal. So many Europeans incorrectly view the America center-right as being anti-immigrant. That’s not the situation, at all, in the US.

To all those supporting the cracking down on these ‘illegals’ there’s something I need to know. Tell me, if they folks had an option to immigrate legally, would they? Do you think it’s some kind of malicious effort to come here against the law, or are they coming here out of desperation? Many of these people come from places like Haiti, Colombia, or Guatemala. Places that the CIA and American tax dollars destroyed.
