I am a French Canadian. I did not hear it From Trudeau in English but I heard it in French, the real reason of the economic war is annexation. Fentanyl, immigration was just a Casus Belli. Well, Trudeau is wrong about a couple of things: first, Fentanyl for medical use is a good medication (e.g. in emergency rooms). and second, Donald Trump is NOT A SMART guy. He is an idiot. Otherwise Trudeau is spot on. Can the US have him and get rid of Tronald Dump?

The tariff war won't last. It will get ironed out in negotiations on other matters, probably in the form of tighter border restrictions, correcting some farm goods imbalance, and increasing tariffs on Chinese imports. Trump states pretty plainly in his order that this is for purposes of leverage, not punishment. I'd wager Trudeau caves to his demands within a few weeks.

I live in Vancouver and it has the largest open air drug market in North America. I can't recall Trudeau ever speaking about the Fentanyl pandemic so frequently. I worked with NPO's when they declared a public health emergency...hundreds were dying a month, and it seemed at the time that there was so little dialogue due to fear of public backlash for taking a stance on this issue.\n\nI'm not trying to get on a soap box here...but I'm just shocked.
