I came from France back in 2015 whith my familly when Harper was still prime minister at the time , really I'd say things have been really great , my family and I have worked hard to get to where we are today and have always wanted to give back to our community here but I am disgusted to see in 2024 what Trudeau has done to the country and to see that immigration is no longer as prestigious as it used to be. Unlike some people we have today, I had to wait 3 years with my family before receiving approval to move to Canada (after so many exams, appointments and waiting times). I did my middle school here until college and I'm currently still looking for work in correctional and when I see that people arrive here afterwards without being permanent residents, who are literally flooding spots at colleges/university and also jobs that are normally open for young canadians in their 15-16 (When I was in high school, my first job was at a McDonald's, and without exception, everyone there was Canadian. Today, when I go back to the same McDonald's for a cheeseburger every now and then, the entire staff is nothing but Indians) .As a person with an immigrant background, I'm the first one to say that there's a very big problem in Canada, and that current immigration, mainly from India, is no longer for economic reasons but to reunite families.(They do not, and will never, assimilate into Canadian culture.)Now that I've grown up in Canada for almost half my life, I'm already thinking about either returning to France or start over somewhere else if nothing changes.\n\nThe Trudeau government, uncontrolled immigration, dangerous idelogies from extreme far left idea, rising unemployment, and economic misery getting worse every day , gradually pushes me away from the country I love, Oh Canada.

Based on this video, we should address another two problems. That immigrants think that Canada has no culture. And that everyone is talking their own version of English and you can’t understand half of what they’re saying.

I was an immigrant and i say f immigration. We have problems here we dont need more immigrants to make things worst. I got 3 tenants who are immigrants being paid 1300 each per month for room and 600-800 for spending and they get their meals at the food bank. Guess where their money is going to?

Easy fix. CHOOSE where you spend money. Choose who you work for and supply support for. Choose Canadian business that have ties to Canada not another country, make sure the income from businesses and personal gains stay in Canada. Being an Indian living in India I can tell you one thing that mostly people who are not 'good enough' in anything pay lumsum amount of money to move to Canada. For instance, most of the students going to Canada for study, lack foundational knowledge that should've been taught to them at school. Take a GRE-like exam by randomly selecting Indians residing in this area and u will understand what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, the current Canadian govt knows this and capitalise on this problem as they have turned the education system of Canada into a money-vending machine. Furthermore, no skill development opportunities and lack of jobs intensify these problems as these individuals are never exposed in a multicultural urban setting. That is why likeminded individuals aggregate and live in silos. Lastly, for my Indian brothers and sisters, I would like to say that yall should try to assimilate with the culture rather than live in silos. That doesn't necessarily mean yall should abandon ur religion and culture, but try to participate more in various activities associated with Canadian culture. Like Im a Hindu, but I participate in Eid & Christmas as well in India.. We should be open to new experiences, especially when moving to a foreign country, one should be able to adapt.. just like one adapts to the weather, one should also embrace the culture.. Try talking to people who are 'non-Indians', have a genuine conversation, find out the history of the place and various other key milestones in the region.. mostly engage in amicable social behaviour. I am dorry to say this, but you were lied to. People immigrate becourse they can. There are countries that are better to live in where you will have more security in life. I think he's not the best person to interview about the problem. They should have interviewed people who recently immigrated with semi skilled or vocational jobs. Like plumbers, electricians, or truck drivers. These professions are in demand in Canada due to shortage but the remuneration is low compared to the very high cost of living in Canada. I'd say it's better to live in a poorer or middle income countries like Thailand or the Philippines but with better affordability.

Canadians ffs its a request stop saying indians are coming to your country all the time. Most of us don't want to come to that shithole of urs. We are happy in our own country. Most of the indian origin people you took are from 1 state of punjab out of 28 states and 9 f union territories of india so yeah no No f indian is coming to ur country to get settled. 28-year-old Female Sydneysider from Australia here. Apologise in advance for the long post and rambling.\n\n\nNot sure if it is just me, so please correct me if I am wrong. Just probably now too overly 'realistically too cynical'. So please take my input with a grain of salt. 

For context’ sake, for most of my adulthood I have always been poor & I am born with special health needs (E.g. disabilities).
\n\n\nSometimes on forums we are often contrasted to Canada, for some reason. Both Canada and Australia have remarkably similar problems with a different coat of paint. Sydney, for instance, has always been high up in the list of the cities with the highest cost of living in the world. Usually within the top 10-20. 

COVID-19 obviously made this issue clearer in some circumstances because we couldn't 'work' at all. Unless you were an essential service worker, to mentally block out personal and local difficulties.\n\n\nWe still have not recovered from that 2–3 years global shutdown. The only reason I was allowed to work for a period was because I work for the animal industry and aid in animal welfare. 

I still lost my job due to COVID-19 regardless and knew I would never get a decent job again. Merely just the last poor sod on the boat to be thrown off. 

Could not become a vet nurse despite working very hard. Just because no one wants to give me '2-years permanent paid experience’ to be taken seriously. 

At the same time, way too many employers will happily take 2+ years of veterinary students volunteering at their vet clinic. With the vague promise of a permanent job.

Which, of course, never happens, then say we are being too demanding or spoilt for politely asking for said job.\n\n\nHow are we supposed to pay off our student debt if any financial service expects us to have a per meant job to pay anything off??

 No, they do not want to train nor help you. They just want free labour, then kick you out once your time is up. All my jobs have been casual, and my animal industry has already become heavily casual based ages ago. Permanent job is like looking for a magical unicorn.\n\n\nSo, even if you and your relatives lived in the way outer suburbs of Sydney for decades, being typically considered roughly lower-middle socio-economic families. 

The younger adults and kids all know and have been aware for years, they have no future at all due to having an inflated cost of living. Sugar-coating it, saying it might go in a positive direction, sounds like a blatant lie. We all know it is a lie.\n\n\nNowadays, in contrast to the late nineties and early 2000s when I was just a tiny naive kid that didn't know any better. There seems to be a more jarring split between the income brackets of what the country assumes who is poor, middle class or rich today. 

\n\nBy today's standards, my family is no longer even considered close to the very lower end of the middle class if you were reaching hard. We are considered 'poor' just because my parents do not earn roughly $50,000 — $150,000 AUD a year on their own in 2023. When something does not change within roughly 5–10 years, it is more than simply just valid for us to feel like we cannot fix what has been broken.

Trudeau has nuked the way of life that Canadians used to enjoy. The problem with the election system is that you could get elected prime minister even with about only 30% of the popular vote. Not saying that a popular vote is the right way to go, but we have a population of around 38 million, and only about 30% actually voted for Trudeau. Canada is a sinking ship.

You guys need to realize the problem is the same all over the world. It was the dirty 30s 90 years ago, now it us the dirty 20s. Then there were no jobs, now it is the pay has not kept up with the cost of living. It does not matter who the government is. Companies aee being greedy. My son gets paid 20 an hour as a warehouse manager. His boss says he does need more. Greed is the problem, self centered ness these days.

As I hope you know that, in that in Canada a city doesn’t usually choose newcomers directly factors of, ethnocentrism, pricing, etc are.  \n\nIt was or used to be that newcomers in many cases had to move to less populated centres i.e. in Saskatchewan/Manitoba etc, to help make the place more profitable and big as born Canadians usually didn’t want to move there. You should dig deeper instead of the old squeaky rhetoric repeating, you forget to mention Gurudwaras do have langar known as no charge meal, but you have potential to be known and yet ask people if they or why they are or aren’t willing to integrate. Any colour fair game, aside from asking Ukranian displaced on temporary refugee visa, not bc they are lacking melanin protection, but because their country is unsafe from aggression by a crazy. However, social programs are missing or drug users not willing to take up a program for various reasons. Maybe through proper fact checking, explain how India has over 200 ethnic and linguistic communities and why only one group is province, ethnic/attitude is prominent in Canada.  \n\nAlso do explain that there were many that were here in late 1800’s along with Chinese and Irish making railroads dragged over by British, the same British who invaded lands of established native nations people in Canada. I can see immigrants causing a housing problem, and maybe taking their jobs. The fact that these immigrants are attending school, getting diplomas, and doing as well as you say, tells me that the locals are NOT taking advantage of the available opportunities. I imagine they must contribute something to the local economy. It's easy to blame immigrants for your problems, but you have to consider multiple factors before you can do so. I didn't see a single homeless immigrant.

As a immigrant who recently got Canadian citizenship, I would like to clear few things here. I noticed that the host of the show has some wrong perception in his mind for international students. I agree that the basic jobs should be allocated to the young population or elderly population and international student should sustain themselves, but on the other hand why don't' the colleges charge the same fees that they charge to domestic applicants ?...the international students pays 5X to 10X the fees that the local student pays for the same courses. Also, when the student applies for visa they already pay 20000K to a Canadian bank for the future monthly payments that they will get so sustaining is not a problem. most of these students work so that they can contribute to the 5X fees that they have to pay. Also, when it comes to skill, the students skills are assessed by the universities and colleges and only after that they come to Canada. If you see an immigrant working in Tim Hortons or Food basics, don't worry he will be out of there in 2 years to a high paying skillful job that local population won't do. Now, when I say all this the immigration problem is real, but it is not because of the student who comes here, pays higher fees and than work in Canada, pay higher taxes and contribute to GDP and economy. your problem is with refugees and immigrants who are brought in mass immigration, who does not have skills. Because this is the population which you brought with to match the labor shortage but can not work so you provide them subsidies, assistance etc. and dig a hole in government funds...…now for the host he seems to have an agenda against Indian immigrants in particularly. I don't mind that though we are used to it. I don't hate him but can he make a video for other countries as well ? how Many Chinese students who didn't even past the language test come to Canada to study and drives expensive cars even without working a single day ? how you bring a immigrant under refugees status from any country to match labor shortage, but who also has 5-7 kids which means you get 1 guy benefiting Canada with 5-7 person who will take benefit from Canada?.....
