Democrats use weaponized empathy and lack basic common sense. They would rather have the country be overrunned by millions of illegal immigrants than be called racist. Make it make sense.

Sorry Guardian but no one that mentioned their degrees actually have any education or skills that Canadians are lacking, the SKILLED TRADES. The gov are just letting in people and students who are filling up a glut in the market of white collar jobs, none of these people at the Institute for Canadian Citizenship who mentioned their degrees actually have skilled trades, it's just more of the same. So more competition for white collar jobs while we're STILL not bringing in enough skilled trades people. This is a recipe to turn this country poor.

I think it’s important to note that her choice of words implies a greater issue than just supporting Trump, lack of empathy. The bulk of people that vote for Trump have two mentalities: “if I had to do it, so do you” and “this doesn’t affect me personally so I don’t care”. It’s bizarre to me that people think we need to take America “back” as if this country isn’t made up of a majority of immigrants. Most of our ancestors did NOT come here legally. America is in dire need of education, not just about elections, but political theory in general. So many people think Socialism = Marxism and immediately write it off as diabolical to even mention. The truth is, more communal ideologies will boost the economy not hinder it. I was worried when Trump won, but now I feel like maybe we need to experience authoritarian regimes like his in order to actually wake up and see how our lack of knowledge and care is running the country into the ground.

They keep talking about losing a huge part of the workforce with mass deportations. So Americans aren’t looking for work? I’ve worked for Amazon for 3 and a half years now. I transferred from Va back home to ny last October. In va Americans are being hired. In ny Amazon is literally hiring nothing but Haitians. We hire a hundred and twenty people every year between July and January for prime and peek. I promise you without any iota of exaggeration, every last new hire is Haitian. I know of plenty of ppl who have applied to no avail. They really need to say if you’re American don’t apply. They get tax credits for hiring them. And because of this they do little to no work because they know nothing will happen to them. So all of the work falls on us . Out of the 120 new hires this year and last year 115 are under 27. They try to alienate us , intimidate us,and are extremely rude to anyone who isn’t Haitian. These are young people who are on straight gang time. I’m a black man telling you this and I’m from the street. It took me 6 years to finally make 20 dollars an hr, they come right over making the same as me while I’m working harder to accommodate their lack of productivity and at the same time hope I don’t lose my job for standing up to their rudeness and intimidation tactics. But the media will have ppl convinced that these are hard working meek and humble ppl just trying to make a better life for them and their families. I’m 45 years old and every year of my life we have always had a block party every summers end . For the last three years none. Because my neighborhood has been inundated with migrants who don’t care to assimilate.

However, the Liberal politics of the last 9 years have been a disaster, from high inflation, uncontrolled immigration, lack of pro business investments, homelessness, housing… this is to list just a few issues. I’m a Canadian citizen. I married a Jewish African woman. And helped her get her citizenship after we got married here in Canada. Then we stood outside in the -20 degrees c freezing cold in a long lineup of good people trying to get their citizenships like my wife, all legally obeying the laws of Canada. I’m white so it doesn’t mater our skin color or religion. Its about love and respect to the laws of our country. What I was talking about before is we here in Canada have been suffering from over taxation, extremely high rental rates, high food costs, greatly reduced medical care (My Mom died recently from lack of proper med care resources). They put her lonely dying body in the hallway where she was robbed of her cell phones, money, food and respect. Due to migrants and illegal immigrants overloading the beds and rooms pouring in from other countries. they drained our existing medical system resources and much more. Drug addicts who overdosed on Fentanyl they take first and push all other patients aside. Doctors take them first before helping a dying mother, father, brother or sister, infant and children pushed aside to save a drug addicts life first. I have been told many times this is also do to them taking care of the pouring in migrants and illegal immigrants using it all up. Where is love and justice? Yes, you failed us Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. You sold us Canadian citizens out and tossed us aside for your own agendas. You are a disgrace to Canada and we the people want you out of office.

I'm very skeptical of the steps that our Government will take. I will only change my opinion when I have evidence of effective action. Remember that this government touted a budget with a $40 Billion deficit as being a fiscally responsible one. Further, we've watched our public service grow by 40% while nothing but nothing is actually working better. The ability to effectively manage anything is sorely lacking. The only people in the United States who are not immigrants or descendants of immigrants are Native American Indians. So it's the height of hypocrisy and arrogance for these people to whine against immigrants. We also have a law that justly provides safe harbor for immigrants seeking refugee protection because they are fleeing their country of origin due to persecution, violence, victimization, etc. It is morally correct to receive them here without any mistreatment or demonization. It is prejudicial, inhumane, and unlawful to turn them away or deport them. Is the administrative system and process inefficient or faulty? YES, obviously. That's not an excuse to be derelict in our duty. Our obligation is to fix whatever is lacking or broken in our system, so that it functions properly, fairly, and rapidly, for anyone seeking either asylum, or ordinary immigration processing and approval.

I'm a black Canadian who's a naturalised citizen, and I agree that the immigration quota at 500,000 per annum under Trudeau until very recently was way too high. With high inflation, rising employment, brutal real estate and rent prices, a lack of housing for students and workers, and an overburdened healthcare system, the problem is not immigrants but our inability to be able to absorb that many while protecting the services and interests of Canadian citizens. In short, this is the Liberal government's fault for this situation. When I was finally able to visit home in Calgary in summer 2023 after years of Covid travel restrictions, it shocked me how messed up things were.

Good information. All international students and temporary workers should go back to their home countries. Our Canadian residents and students are suffering due to lack of jobs availability for them. International students must leave after their studies are completed. If they don’t leave then they must be deported immediately.

Unfortunately Canada lacks sunlight in winter. This could mean Vitamin D deficiency. The cure is sunlight so go out and expose your hands and face to sunlight in winter especially on mild days . Wool socks not cotton.

It's disheartning to see lack of diversity in many establishment, because the workforce is predominantly indians with a token effort at exclusivity. This trend makes Canada less appealing to many which leads to an exodus of people. It almost feels like the country should be renamed India .\n\nPeople don't hate Indians but just like everything, there should be moderation or else one gets tired and sick of it.

And who cares about the international students anymore or the money “they bring in”. Universities are registered not-for-profits in Canada, so the for-profit argument can’t track. \nCanada needs a RICO law so we can more easily seize their assets and expel them, and hold universities to the fire for this crap, and the government officials getting kickbacks. The GOC is the largest human trafficking pimps, and the universities are bottom bi***es. And don’t think we don’t know that the 30% cap DOESN’T apply to companies like Navitas who recruit for the universities, are housed in the universities, but are separate, private companies.
