I almost moved to the US with my parents when I was a kid but was crying because I didn’t want to go. I am so glad that we didn’t move there. We don’t want to go there for many reasons, free healthcare, a good education system because we pay our teachers well and have good quality teachers, we don’t carry guns and don’t want them, thereby our streets are safer. We don’t have mass murders, school killings and all that fear. We don’t have the racial and ethnic prejudice that there is in the US. I have travelled a lot for my company and personal to the US. I was scared and didn’t feel comfortable at all. We know so much more about US geography and history and the US knows nothing about us. Complete ignorance. Well I have no plans to ever visit again. I love our people, our freedom and our culture. We are nothing like the Americans (sorry). I am staying in my beautiful country! I feel safe and happy here! We don’t want the American dream, we are living the Canadian dream!

This is the look of freedom. This is the human spirit showing us that the will to live, to be free takes precedent over nationality, culture, etc. The United States NEVER stopped being an oasis in the world’s mind. Maybe, the U.S. really belongs to every tired and huddled mass yearning to be free. Who are we, Americans, to decide our legacy was over? Maybe, we ran into trouble when we forgot what we are, and why our own ancestors came here. The people of the world have spoken. We have no right to withhold safe refuge from those fleeing death and oppression. Instead of hanging with dictators, maybe our highest national “leader” should return to his original mantra of demanding other nations provide safety for their own, so that their own stop feeling the need to flee. This is the vast majority of migrants’ character. We can separate law breakers from the masses, without accusing the masses of criminality.

I'm a US dual citizen. I live abroad, in Asia, so I'm not affected but this is just so dismaying. There is utterly no reason for starting this chaos. The American people voted for Trump (who knows why) and thus chaos and suffering is what people get.

As a European living in Canada I noticed right after we got here that quality and even availability of good European product is lacking. All the American backwards product never impressed me. The only thing is that Canadians are so slow with everything. Also nice Toyota trucks, right from Asia, I never understood that just because they aren't available in the US, why don't we have them here?

They had me set up to do chemotherapy treatment within 2 weeks. They wanted me to start that weekend, but I needed the time to put my work in order for me to be gone for an extended period, get applications set up for EI/Healthcare claims, and figure out who in my family I wanted to share the information with. \n\nIn Canada you end up waiting for elective surgeries and treatments, because they aren't critical by virtue of being elective. That's about it. If you need an elective and have 10K in your pocket not doing anything, go ahead and go to the states.

As far as healthcare goes the US is a 3rd world country, where, only the rich can afford to see a doctor, or visit a hospital. When Trump was campaigning he said he was going to put a 25% tariff in China and all of his supporters cheered and clapped ! Medical aid will only benefit the rich while everyone else will pay for minimum service but premium for medication. \n\nThe price of food and transport will quadruple over the next 4 years, not because of the natural progression of price rise, but immediately due to tariff wars. \n\nAmericans, ultimately pay for tariffs - bullying words of 50 percent tariffs on another country means a surge in prices for everyday goods Americans take for granted. The only winner is the Government - which means it chooses what to spend on. \n\nA recession will hit hard....AGAIN -- on the USA.
