You both make valid points about Canada. I am 2nd generation Canadian. I do feel like its expensive here and Even I have a hard time landing a job. (Recently got laid off from my career job, they said I didn't have enough experience to work there). My friends who aren't single and live with their partner, have an easier time living here compared to people who are single & living by themselves. \n\nNight life is boring here. However, daytime life specially in the summer is better. I feel like Canada is more for an outdoor person. Depending where you live, there are beaches, mountains, trails, & lakes to explore. Some parts of Canada even look tropical! We have hot springs here as well!\n\nFor the leisure & work life balance, I feel like that depends on the person. I used to work 2 jobs (not because I was bored or needed the money at the time), I just wanted to save more money & help my friend out with his business. I felt like I had good balance of work & leisure. I hanged out with my friends on Friday & Saturdays then I had my 'me' days on Sundays.\n\nIf you are going to move here, do your research, also I don't think people consider their countries dollar into the equation, what I mean is, if you want to convert your money to Canadian... you might have less money then you have. Example, at this moment, 1 Mexican Peso is 0.066 Canadian dollars, therefor people coming from Mexico might have a hard time afford things in Canada compared to a person who is moving from USA. (1 USA Dollar = 1.31 Canadian Dollar).\n\n\nO btw, I love both you hair!!~

Hey. It all about choice. So let’s get it straight. The people who worked hard to build and develop Canada over the last 200 Years and paid their taxes, that’s ok. You however, feel you shouldn’t have to pay your way like Canadians. If you love your Country and the lifestyle, why did you leave it? No one twisted your arm to leave your fantastic Country and and move to this awful nasty boring and expensive Country with such uninteresting people unfriendly people. Well, I live in Sweden and I bet we pay more income tax than you do in Canada, some of the taxes goes to health care, unemployment benefits, and your retirement benefits, Every welfare state is expensive, You may get more pay in USA but if you ever get hospitalised, you're in for a rude awakening, you should check, there are many immigrants here in Sweden as well and the weather is pretty much the same as in Canada. We get at least 4 weeks vacation here in Sweden. I'm from ?? and it's natural that after working many years abroad, many choose to go back to their country of origin at some stage, me I go back home to Jamaica ?? as much as I can but still prefer to live in Sweden, I never mind the winter months, I can always travel to a warmer country and continue to enjoy life. The bottom line is that it's your choice what you want to do with your life.

I'm Mexican, 16 years old, Living in the USA I can speak English fluently, How can I immigrate to Canada, I don't really like the USA, I want something new, I've heard there's a lot of green places in Canada, I guess that's what drawns to this country. Im Asian and I love Vancouver! The weather is beautiful and mild! I enjoy the rainy days cozying up with nice jazz music on gorgeous cafes and restaurants Vancouver has. It is expensive yes, however if your Asian its not, you just havent explored the Asian market place, cheap housing are also available in the outskirt cities and the best part of it is you are near the beaches and outdoor recreation and fun! Taxes are high yep thats true however with three different surgeries my family had from Apendicitis, to Gall bladder stone removal and stent angioplasty that could have cost us millions but got it for free, also the Free education, Child support, CERB, etc, taxes doesnt seem to matter anymore. British Columbia's mountain ranges, ski resort, hot springs, also Albertas Banf, Jasper, and Canmore for me are truly majestic safe and beautiful! Ive been all around South east Asia Europe and even the middle east however the welcoming nature and culture of Canadians and the power of a canadian Passport for me trumps all other cities in other countries. If you want to learn extreme news go to Asia like, China, North Korea, and the Philippines, also the USA the most extreme of them all! Rules are indeed frustrating but Canadian rules are nothing compared to Singapore, if you want freedom try India, try to walk in sexy clothing on the streets. In the Philippines everybody drives drunk specially on Friday nights. The Canadian mindset of a Multi cultural communinty and the welcoming athmosphere of their thinking for me is the reason why Canada is truly the best place to live.

After watching this video, i still want to make my move to canada in the next 1 to 2 years. Because canada is a big upgrade from usa. Im from texas and i hate the hot weather that lasts 11 months of basically summer. and always dreamed about cold cloudy weather instead. Im 21 and im planning to get my education there so it's not really a big problem for me compared to other people who already studied in their home country. Basically life quality is better and i dont have to worry about the sad things that happen here. I love canada and i want to be a proud Canadian.

I had a similarly friendly crossing from the USA into Canada a few years ago, went back and forth several times in a week. Best part was standing on line behind the guy seeking asylum from the USA and wanting to be a political refugee in Canada, because he felt the internet wasn't safe.

when it comes to cultural differences, what you said there is a huge huge generalization. Why? Some preferred cultural behavior might be true for tiny nations (or small geographic areas). That is because of rather reasonable distances, habits could spread all over that area within past centuries (that is how all that is made). But talking even about Russians is a heavy stereotype. By best guess your Russians from around Moscow area and those close to eastern Chinese borders would differ more than those groups of of Chinese (or Mongolian if Mongolia is also close by), that are right on the other side of that eastern border with their Russian counterparts. That humid weather as you stated is only truth for the parts that are closer to those big lakes.\nAnd for the love of god. Canada DOES NOT have a paid insurance. Each province has its own paid insurance. So while certain things might be free in one province (like emergency ambulance), it is partially paid in other province.

Canada is not open society. They looks very open to immigrant outside. But, they are not better than USA. They hide everything behind. They want to protect and secure white Canadian jobs. Everything else dirty and hard job go to immigrants even if it is rare. Canada is the best place to retire for white Canadian! A lot of these reasons apply to Canadian born people as well. Outside of doctors, basically every top Canadian born student I know has moved to the USA for jobs - myself included. There are large economic issues here and you can imagine if it is that bad for Canadian born people, it is going to be even harder for immigrants. \n\nIt's unfortunate and I wish the system would improve. All good things... keeps people out who want to move and change Canada to be more like where they came from. I emigrated from the USA - best decision ever. Canadians are awesome - friendly, respectful, peaceful and polite (in general of course). American society has become too arrogant, disrespectful, rude, self-entitled, divided, angry and even violent.

Canada is considered as energy superpower, Canada is 10 times rich than the USA by natural resources, but this needs the thoughtful leadership. should why Canada give the USA's these resources by the cheapest? The USA doesn't want, to be anyone leader in the world. Canada should come out from the USA's shadow.

Well put . I came to Canada at the age of 12 in 1992. After graduating in 2002 I was unable find a job in my field even entry level. I worked in cx service for another 5 years until i paid the little student loan I owed 15K. Then I made a way to move to USA. Took me 3 weeks to land a job in my field. I also got my masters. After 3 years in the USA came back to over priced Toronto to get married. Even as a nurse Toronto is unaffordable. Bills and more bills. Goal is to return to my native country, I already bought lands and is preparing. I got kids but I don't want them to stress. Education is everywhere.

There are so many Spanish-speaking countries to take asylum at. Why would you want to go somewhere where you don’t even understand the language? Why is it always USA and Canada?

First mistake he went illegal to the USA. Then he wants Canada to accept him with open arms. Also seems like he never made an effort to learn English after all this time in the USA & Canada. You want to move to any country, do it the right way and life will be good. Do you think Canadians or Americans can move illegally to his country El Salvador and work and live there. They would be locked up in a horrible jail and then removed from the country.

EVERY Country has immigration laws. You can’t just walk into any country you want and instantly be granted the same benefits as citizens and legal immigrants. It doesn’t work that way in Canada, USA or any other country for that matter.

If someone wants to come illegally live work and so on then I can see a problem. Why can't people just go the legal route? Also this guy came with his family from America which is NOT a country of refugee status or seen as an endangering atmosphere. He and his family were accepted in the USA so automatically he loses his refugee status when trying to cross into Canada. We have rules for a reason. I just love how people ignore this simple fact

The bigger question is why rich people don't want to live in Canada? Is Canada economy big enough to sustain and grow wealth? Or Taxes are too high for them to stay rich? Is immigration only solution to all that Canada is facing globally? I don't think Canada ever lied. Unlike the USA Canada does not play around. We welcome legal immigrants and bona fide refugees. Unfortunately there is a lot of greyness in what it means to be a bona fide refugee. Perhaps too many people think it means one thing. \n.\nMy heart goes out to all these foreigners wanting to make a life here in Canada - after all I am one of them. The ONLY difference between the guy in the video and me is that I was lucky to have an opportunity to get a degree'd education and was accepted into Canada.

USA + Canada you need to have a One-Time Amnesty for people/families who have not gotten into trouble, go to work and a proud to join our nations/culture. They want to contribute.

As a Canadian who has traveled to 12/13 provinces/territories (sorry NFLD) and all regions of the mainland USA I have couple comments. First, both Canada and the USA the accents and culture are very different depending on the area (another similarity!). People from Vermont have more in common with people from New Brunswick than they do with their fellow Americans in Texas. People from British Columbia have more in common with people from Washington than they do with Quebeckers. Second, I actually find that Americans are super friendly in some states, more outgoing than Canadians (like say Tennessee). Also, Drew, if you ever want to go to the Far North in Canada it's a whole other world of Inuit people speaking Inuktitut on Baffin Island - for me that area seems like another country!

When they don't want to live in Canada and they love their country why they apply for citizenship, we had an almost same case in USA few years ago a Chaineas family brought 8 or 9 months pregnant Chaineas women to give birth to their children in USA for US passport and citizenship when police arrived at their home there were 35 couples in a 1800 square foot building with the new born baby and some at hospital and they normally left US after few weeks,usually Chaineas love their country but I don't understand why they want western countries citizenship.
