Context:\n\nAround a year or two ago driving back home with some friends after visiting Niagara Falls, we were pulled over because my car’s headlights were off. I didn’t stop immediately when they turned their police lights on because I didn’t think I did anything wrong but did eventually pull over after realizing they were indeed trying to pull me over. \n\nAfter I pulled over, two officers quickly got out and one of them rushed to my passenger side mirror and very aggressively yelled at me, “why didn’t you pull over” etc. I was very surprised by his reaction and quickly explained that I was a fairly new driver (about 6 months of driving experience at the time). He went away for a few seconds to cool off and later apologized for his behavior (very respectable).\n\nMain Focus:\n\nNow, the interesting part is while the officer was cooling off, the other officer wanted not just my ID but everyone else’s’ in my car as well. I still to this day do not think that is normal, however, I haven’t been pulled over enough to confirm that. Anyways, some of my friends didn’t have officials IDs on them but they did have their student ID. The police wanted that as well. They took a long time to what I assume, conduct a very thorough check on everyone’s ID, making sure nothing is suspicious and everyone is from America. The whole encounter had to be around 20 to 30 minutes long, it was very very long. \n\nTakeaway:\n\nFrom what I experienced that day, I strongly believe that people were at least crossing the northern border around 1 year ago and most likely even earlier. There are bus services that go straight to NYC from Buffalo which is right across the border from Canada to the US. However, I’m not sure if you need ID to use those services. \n\nFor those who read this comment, use this information however you will, I hope it helps even just a little in making some sort of change. \n\nHopefully, there won’t be an increase on how long it takes me to get past border patrol to Canada and back ?. I also hope that our taxes decrease because too much of it are being payed for services to aliens when some of our locals are still stuck in the streets.

In most of history, a country would consider this an act of war. Another country can’t just allow a massive flood of foreign entities into another nations borders and not have it be considered an act of aggression. The USA should annex Canada. Clearly, they are not capable of running their own nation and protecting their own borders.\n\nIf the US were to annex Canada controlling the borders would be easy in the north if you just shut down the ports and airports. There are no countries in north of it to enter from on land. No need to build a ridiculously huge expensive wall like some people are trying to say in the comments.

The only people to blame for this is the immigration dept. If they had proper rules in place then only proper educated and decent people would've come there instead of many people with criminal or rowdy background who even falsify there IELTS score. As someone said in comments that most of the people in Canada especially Brampton are from small villages in Punjab who have barely seen n lived in big cities in India itself. And it's true everyone in India knows that Brampton is mini Punjab, Punjab with cold weather. I have many friends who have gone to Canada and some of them were living in Brampton also for some time, but everyone left, they all say that Brampton is just a rowdy place and does not seem like you are in a developed country coz of the ruckus the Punjabi people make their and most of the educated people going from India to Canada wants to avoid Brampton.

Agreed with all your points and thanks for sharing. But honestly, I fail to understand two points here. 1. People living in Canada and commenting that it is true and they are baffled with this whole situations, when exactly you are coming back to India? People will tell you that they want to come back but no one will. It is because those who actually left for Canada in order to have a better lifestyle are still having a better lifestyle in Canada and they will never return back (atleast in the near future). They left for Canada citing the reasons that India is polluted and they are toured based on religion (you know exactly whom I am talking about) but whatever the case is...they are still not coming back. 2. No country is perfect, I agree that Canada has its own problems to deal with but then why Indians are leaving for US, UK and Australia where racisms and cost of living high too? It is because they have issues with India too and those who have issues with a well diverse and prospered country like India, will have problems in other country as well. Most of the people commenting on Canada can't even imagine the quality of life. Even if you're Ambani, you'll still have to deal with pollution and dirt all over the place. Due to the influx of immigrants and recently poor governance of the country, it has slumped. Drugs and homelessness has increased but I've been settled here since the past two years and have had a considerable amount of work life balance and financial stability compared to back home. I did work for close to a decade in India yet could not accomplish what I did in 2 years here. Every country has it's pro's and cons and when it comes to healthcare yes it is sad but will be improved over time. If India was so great why are we taxed beyond question and not allowed to enjoy proper infrastructure and employment opportunities. Canadians are tired of our protests and whining for PR. People with no skills back home, can't land a job anywhere else. Period.

Many people take advantage of immigration and the immigrants. This creator had a very anti Punjabi bias which is false. I am a Punjabi Canadian who has lived in Canada for generations, my large family helped build the region I live in from the ground up. This first-generation Australian doesn't know what he's talking about and is just jumping on the hate train.

I see a ton of racism in the comments here and it's sickening. I am not A Canadian I’m an American, but I interact with lots of Canadians as they find themselves coming down here for one reason to the other and I’m not near the border either. As an Indian (not living in Canada), I want to beg Canadians to stop calling them Indians. Most of them are from just 1 region of India. Many of these students were sold a bill of goods by various people who promised more than they should have. As our PM has stated students coming over has not been the issue, but having temporary workers come over has been. What had been traditionally 2% has been 7% plus. This is what needs to be reduced, but in most of these cases no one wants to do the jobs they have, such as fruit picking. I find some of the comments here as being offensive, don't need more Tim Horton workers. A number of these individuals are here for PR first and schooling second, this needs to tighten up. Instead of at the time redirecting half of those two it was 500 billion take a half of that investment in putting it into infrastructure technology innovation for industries. Our education systems from kindergarten through to postsecondary education and spending it on the Canadians that were here. We've turned our post-secondary institutions in Canada into diploma Mills where you know your VA and your you know postgraduate degrees or you know they're worthless. However the government and the education system grew into a very profitable industry grinding out worthless degree after worthless degree for foreign students who thought when they got these degrees with 50% of Canadians have. People have to realize that post-secondary education is a big business so they're going to sell you a dream that's going to cost you a lot of money what I suggest is when YouTubers want to do something on Canada do some proper research let people know that we really do have quality post-secondary education system but you have to look at when you graduate those jobs going to be there to pay that large salary does White collar jobs are disappearing almost gone I purchase an app for my company with small company about 10 employees this inexpensive app alone has taken my office staff from 7: to 2: I have a 10 Red seal tradesman tradeswomen these 10 highly skilled trades people earn between 125 and 145,000 a year in gross salary and I need five more of these highly skilled people and I can't find them cuz everybody's running in to get a useless postgraduate degree. I do find it slightly offensive that a lot of new immigrants new Canadians immigrate to Canada to purely exploit it for its wealth Canada should be looked at as a place to come put your hard work in the struggles the ups and downs? and look at it as your home instead of you know a piggy bank but people are going to leave and there's a long line up to get in I've seen in my 40 year career you know three major reps and three major downs. What's happening in Canada's economy and the economies around the world it's all the same the US economy's doing quite well and talked to last couple of weeks friends that have invested their and families have been there long-term at present the United States is building a war economy so there's money pouring into that effort it does have a booming you know Hi-Tech boom as well however the tech boom is offshore with American companies and it's taking place in a part of the world that no one would think it would take place so if your graduate in the tech industry go online do a little research you'll find out where it is the USA is building a huge chip factories I think they just poured in 70 or 80 billion dollars we're in a transitioning economy don't get discouraged put your head into it do your homework find out where these new jobs are coming from which jobs are not going to be here. Traditional White collar you know middle management upper management jobs they've been gone for years everyone's think of themselves as an independent contractor. Also if you're a millennial or was a gen z person there's going to be a massive transfer of wealth over the next 20 to 30 years as baby boomers simply die off and then you guys are going to inherit their money I live in any one of the g7 economies I just got to find your niece with your qualifications and get in there and innovate because there's not one g7 country that significantly doing better than anyone else another interesting part of the world is East Africa I'm retiring there in 5 years I've already done my homework I've already got partners I've already started to train up people there in East Africa Canada and those parts of the world they have East Africa's great basic infrastructure so now that they've got their first level base of infrastructure a second economy is built off at the service that basic infrastructure that basic infrastructure allows for that second layer a bigger layer of investment you know and that's where the real money is for mid-level investors and you know highly educated Young westerners have got 10 years into their respective careers and these are also very beautiful countries you know so you can if you got family in Canada family in Europe India Asia you know you can start building networks collaborate on projects you know in these you know emerging economies you know mid-level economies but that's you know a good 20-year grind to get good at your career and build your confidence to go into these places and get these things done also you know it's a great life adventure but never expect just because you have an advanced degree that the door even come knocking down your door to employ you if you're going to wait for the opportunity to come to you you're going to be waiting forever you got to take your advanced degrees get out there and hustle and work hard man Canada's doing fine about four or five years it's you know it's going to take off next level and it's going to boom for 40 years and it's never going to get any cheaper in g7 countries Amy's emerging economies his pockets around the world they're starting to come up to in the window to get into these emerging economies with your advanced degrees it's closing if you don't make it if you don't start looking at it in the next 5 years your degrees are going to be gone useless and if you do decide to put your career in these emerging economies like Asia South America Central America Africa do it for the right reasons not just for money we don't want to make the same mistakes as like the industrial Revolution where a few people get rich and the people in that country you know don't get anything have respect for these countries employ their people and you have to get into these places before all the big corporations get set up there cuz they're they're going there Canada's a great place as a great time free medical system and I urge anybody that's feeling down or depressed in Canada you know to go get some therapy join some clubs talk to people don't get down and mostly don't you know don't give up on yourself you guys made it through you know Elite post-secondary education system and if you can if you can do that I mean you can you can do anything a lot of hard work ahead truly best of luck to all you guys

To all of you in the comments section who are ridiculing non-European immigrants to Canada, I will remind you of your heritage. You are all either first generation European immigrants or 2nd, 3rd, 4th (and so on) immigrants to Canada. The only native Canadians are the aboriginal people. So stop acting like this was your country first, rid your hearts and minds of Rac1sm and mis3ry, and embrace cultural and intellectual diversity. There is a lot of strength and power in that. sorry, what is Canada? The title is offensive (and not in a PC way).. if its multicultural, i get it.. but the title itself makes it seem like if you're from an Indian background, you're not Canadian? Lots of scared people these days... I guarantee you ask anyone of these people making a comment.. go 3 questions deep and you'll find a scared insecure person, who is frightened about their place in society, and just uninformed about anything they're not used to
