there's zero benefits in moving to Canada. it is a country that is set to debt trap you for the rest of your life once you settled. they invent new tax laws every year to cheat you from your hard work earnings, no one can build a life here in Canada, this is also precisely why there is no known technology or industry developed in Canada. So called top brand in Canada, TD, was just sued and under multiple legal litigations such as AML (anti money laundering) and NSF class action lawsuit. I am a skilled worker (an engineer), I graduated from a master's in Germany and speak fluent german. Housing is one of the negative points I can mention. Another one is the waiting times for a document work at Ausländerbehörde. Here in Stuttgart it is the worst as far as I see. \nAnother thing I dont like is to pay so much to the health insurance and at the end you even cannot get an appointment when you have a tooth ache for instance. \nAnother rather cultural difficulty is that you cannot find a place in the society, Germans do not make friends and when you only make friends with expats then it does not feel you are a part of the society. Canada wants immigrants so they can pay them cheap for meanial jobs that nobody wants to do. Period. All your efforts spent getting a degree in something will be worth nothing here. Period. Even if you consider yourself super smart with an IQ above average and think you can defy the system, think better: yes you can go to school here and get your degree recognized, but is gonna take a lot of time and money, you'll probably have to work two jobs under shitty weather and pay the rent for an apartment not bigger than a shoebox, not to mention the college fees. Is it worth it? After 15 years spent here first as an immigrant and now as a citizen, I still have to understand what makes Canada so appealing to people. But then I came from Europe, where life is easy and relaxed, so I guess my point of view is biased.

We went there in 2023 March as temporary residents, came back last month, i.e. October 2024. Me and my husband both had jobs there, not white collar jobs though. There are about 2 million estimated Americans living in Mexico currently. They may be forced out too in response. I have ethnic background from Hong Kong and have been living in Canada for almost 40 years. I love Canada and am proud of this beautiful country. However, I think part of the immigration problem we have is the ongoing issue of allowing dual citizenship of everyone who have become a Canadian citizen. I have personally known lots of HK immigrants who would return to their own countries to work as soon as they have got their Canadian passports. Normally one of the parents would stay with their children here for free schooling, medical care and child tax benefits. Their children will follow their parents to go back to HK after they graduated from universities in order to avoid the higher income tax . Unfortunately, those parents will come back to retire in Canada so that they can get free health care benefits and OAS once they have fulfilled the residency requirement of 10 years. Canada do need more skilled and educated immigrants to make our country more prosperous but not those who try to take advantage of our lenient immigration policies. I think we should take back the passports of those who have left Canada for more than 2 years or those who have evaded taxes so that we do not continue to support those never contributed to our country. PS, I mentioned about HK only because of my origin and I believe the same problem would be caused by immigrants from other countries too.
