I've worked and waited until I was 70 so as to get a larger pension and if I can afford it, the next time I leave Canada will be the last time and if that happens, I'LL NEVER RETURN. Rampant street crime, businesses are little more than fronts for organized crime, homelessness is on the rise, food, clothing, shelter and fuel are unaffordable, your average citizen pretends it’s not happening, unions are corrupt as hell, as are universities and the government. All the hallmarks of a decaying, braindead, decadent civilization are there. If you can't immigrate out of Canada consider learning to sail with the idea of buying a sailboat and sail around the world. Canada opened it self to any refugee that crawled in and legally lets in a million people every year which the same amount that the U.S. does but the U.S. has more then 10 times the population. So they tax the hell out of every working person and then give free stuff to the millions of free loaders.

Canada has very high tax with little work opportunity. Canada is only attractive for third world countries who wants to live in a decent society. Im Canadian and I think the US is awesome. I have a handful of friends that moved south and they all love it there. Long ago my grandparents wintered in Florida and they LOVED it. Sure you have more crime but you have a hell of a lot more people so that's a wash in my book. We've visited and always enjoyed your country and people. Canada has changed drastically over the last decade, and not for the better. I really don't see a big difference. My 2 cents

Why does Canada need Immigration? The Gap between Canadians who are retiring and those who are in the workforce (and hence are paying taxes) or are supposed to enter is increasing. There are more Canadians retiring than those working. Result? The Canadian government has less tax revenue (and perhaps more expenditure as a result of Increased pensions etc.). So now, either the government has to Increase Taxes (More taxes? Hell no!!) or bring in New Immigrants to increase the tax-paying workforce of the Canadian Economy. Hence, immigrants are needed and the political parties including Conservative, Liberal, NDP, etc. know this and are inviting immigrants in record numbers. The issue is too much red tape in Building housing options in Canada, not immigrants

Canada is not livable anymore. For new immigrants it can be only bypass country. Live in Canada for 3 years, apply citizenship and get Canadian passport on 4th year of stay and move to USA. Settling down in Canada will be huge mistake for any new immigrants, life will be depressive hell paying overpriced mortgages & high taxes but in return get substandard education & health system…

You need atleast a million dollars to buy a house...if you go with mortgage lets say you need 700k cash.... adding let say 50 k for emergencies that makes it 750k ...who the hell would come to canada with that money and start fresh? Housing, taxes, insurance, inflation, low paying jobs and freezing temperatures it all adds up.....

Who in the hell would now want to immigrate to Canada ? Outrageous housing costs which consume most of your income . One has to work at least two to three jobs just to try to keep from completely drowning economically . A healthcare system which is on life support . It is next to impossible to get a doctor . Emergency waits times at hospitals can range from 4 to 24 hours . Traffic from hell in all of the major cities .... particularly Toronto , Montreal and Vancouver . The crushing cost of living . A political leader who is a complete fool who has basically destroyed the country in just 8 years . As if all of this wasn't bad enough ...... 5 months of winter from hell . Living in Canada is now an extreme struggle in every way imaginable . One will always struggle . One will always work like a dog . One will very likely fall into extreme debt in Canada just to survive . One has to pay outrageous taxes on their income leaving them with about 50% of what they actually earn after they have paid all of the combined taxes on everything that they buy or services that they use . Forget about ever being able to save money . Incomes are about about 35% less than other advanced than those in other advanced countries for the same skilled job . One will never own a home . One will never be able to start a family . One will always freeze in the winter . Life in Canada has become an absolute hell . The Canadian dream is as dead as dead can be . It is no longer a country where one can earn a decent living , own a home and live a good life . On top of all of this it has an authoritarian government which keeps passing new laws to reduce free speech and civil rights .

I immigrated to Canada 50 years ago. (Legally of course) anyone where I am from ask me if they should move here now, I am emphatic in NO!! A hard No! We used to have a great country, now its a living hell and a compitition in wokeness and stupidity. As a person born in Canada in the 50s I have seen the change in Canada over the decade to now where this Liberal gov had torn the hell out of what once was a terrific place to work and live. You're a good guy, Tyler...and very brave to take on such a dicey subject as comparisons between Canada and The United States. We are two distinctly different cultures. Currently, America is more than frightening. The political system has really become a total mess. A two-party system (basically YES or NO) does not cater to the many grey areas of politics. The choice right now seems to be Fascist or Liberal. That's it! It was not like that during most of my professional life. Thanks to my job, I had a Green Card. But, I also could travel with little difficulty...especially in the South and Mid-West. Why? Well, because I had blonde hair, blue eyes and pale skin. I never got used to states where everyone was walking around with a gun. It scared the hell out of me. As a commercial film director and writer, (unique services - hence the Green Card) I worked just about everywhere in the US. The North East is the most similar to Canada. But get down south, and people were literally walking around with holsters and revolvers on their hips. I never felt completely safe. But America is also a great country full of opportunities and if you are educated and a professional, the money is also great. All Canadians love their Healthcare and Social Safety Net. Generally, I think Canadians are more socially evolved and better educated. Your educational system is awful. And the Bible Belt States are anything but Christian. It's hate and fear-based. But the past 7 years have been the worst since the Trump Cult era began. Trump and his Mega Cult could destroy what was once a wonderful country.

We have pondered moving to the US but it always scares me thinking of all the service safety nets behind. I don't know how many Americans know this, but basically at birth you are assigned a health card which you keep for the rest of your life. Anytime you go to the doctor they ask for that and it has all your info on it (family doctors, your address, etc) and that's all you do. See the doctor and then leave. Private/work health insurance is more for prescription, dentists,massage, therapy, physio, eye, ambulance rides,etc. \nBut childbirth, ER visits, doctors visits all covered by that card...which is funded by our are taxes. We are taxed to hell and back on the daily but it's just so normal you don't think differently of it. We do have a shortage of Dr's though. An ER wait can be upwards of 2-4 hours and your family doctor can take weeks to get an appointment with so you usually have to go to a hospital or walk in if it's urgent.\nAlso, guns. Guns guns everwhere ? I saw a sign when I was walking into Walmart in Florida saying to not bring guns inside and I just couldn't believe that was a thing that had to be said. In Canada, guns are for hunting and going to the range and that's the only time they're allowed out of their safe. Obviously you have people who have stolen and smuggled guns and that's how you get gun crimes (you need a special card to buy guns and ammo, that you get after passing a gun safety course and *most* gun crimes are not committed by people who hold those cards). I appreciate the fact that you don't have so many restrictions on the types of guns you can get but man, I never felt so rattled just walking around after seeing that sign

Its really bad in Canada right now. I can't visit any Gurudwara because all have turned into Khalistani haven. If you speak in favor of Bharat, they target you and even beat you up. Health care is very bad. I had severe tooth pain but did not get any support . I was asked to come after 4 months. I came back to India for a holiday and I can't convince myself to go back. Khalistanis are making it hell and even threatening Hindus. Govt is supporting them so there is no hope for future. Except for some big Canadian Universities, most are scam and are targeting Indian students. They know Indians want to migrate there. I have seen students waste their money at these crappy Universities, after which they did not get any job and ended up coming back to India. Those that think and keep saying that Toronto is a 'World Class city' need to give their head a shake...it's a shit hole. Crime is through the roof and pushing outwards towards other areas of the GTA; the defacing of buildings and other structures is saddening, just can't wait for the Docklands project to turn into just another shit hole .The police don't care, cyclists and drivers have turned this place into a hell hole to get around, traffic is at a standstill.
