It's not true to say education is free in Canada. Unlike the UK, in Canada every year we have to pay a contribution to school fees. Noon supervision fee, exam fees, fees for sports clubs, materials fee. It mounts up if you have a few kids. This came as a surprise to me when moving to Canada. In UK employees get much more paid vacation time from employers. I'd say life can be better in the UK in terms of work life balance but I think Healthcare is better in Canada although it can be expensive if you have no insurance for things such as dental care.

Just came back from Ecuador cheap living but dangerous, i got shot at it sucked, oh well. I cant see my self moving from Canada most of my family is here, my son is 12 years old but i worry for him as he gets older who meets.

you gotta understand tho.. the prices are not the same across canada... i spent 5 years in halifax and even tho i was born and raised in toronto...halifax to me was home... i payed $400/500 for my own apartment..but that was 15 years ago...halifax is cool man...i defantly wanna leave toronto...but its not easy for me to do..i came back to toronto to be with my mom..and it didnt work out..now i got lot of strings tied me to this city...and the city has alot of strings tied to me..like as much as i wanna go ..its like they have me locked up here for now.. so i more then understand you..good video and good luck to you

Idk i think you need to realize that we also have our bias in addition to you having yours. My parents were both born in the states and my older brother was born there but they moved up here when he was a baby. So nearly all my extended family lives down there and I’m a duelly. And my experiences discussing things with my cousins or visiting absolutely could be described as culture shock at times. The insane things that came out of my own cousins mouths when they hear our friends or partners of various cultures , our not understanding how big a deal and incredibly insulting apparently it is to have assumed someone American was lgbt lol the list goes on. Like I don’t think our most intolerant Pockets can hold a flame to even ur closet to middle a bit intolerant places and contexts in America. Friends and my family will all move to Canada. We came from South Sudan and we are now in the US which promised a lot but gave only very little. Canada has much more to offer us than the US will ever give us. Girls, I came here as an international student, I make about 150K year, I pay aournd 45% of my salary in taxes and 2500 in rent, that is unfair. My job comes from the U.S. and now I have to face impossible PR process. Canada needs reforms for sure, but think twice, this is not the only country a highly skilled immigrant can go, the world is big, stop blaming international students for everything, we came here following the rules, and we did not write those rules. To be honest, I am seriously thinking about moving somewhere else including home. I have a nice house, pool and warm weather back home.

Simply…Government overflowed the country with immigrants to lower entry-level salaries hence all the salaries have frozen and become stagnant, housing has suffered pressure by demand, entry level jobs have gone to these immigrants that will work for lower salaries cause they need to pay their studies to become PR and as always there are some immigrants that came with bad intensions which put the spotlight in those who actually came to make a life in Canada

I do think it's worth pointing out that the cheap labour reduces incentives for companies to invest in increasing productivity. I think the high real estate costs might be a problem too - too much of Canada's available capital is going towards expanding housing supply and not enough on better technology - software, equipment, etc. I think part of the stagnant productivity has been due to lack of investment in technology, rather than laziness of workers. It's also worth pointing out that a lot of the workforce has been in government, which has been spending more and more money while not having much to show for it, so productivity in the government is another issue too. Bureaucracy and red tape can also be detrimental to productivity in both governments and the private sector. Maybe Canada needs more competitiveness (ex with telecommunications). Lack of training could be an other obstacle to productivity, or for example... not speaking English properly. Sometimes when I get customer service with an Indian, I have to make him repeat 5 times because of his extremely thick accent. He might not be lazy and trying his best, but still not very productive. \n\nWith slavery in the US, the South has been rather inefficient with their labour because slaves were relatively cheap (still had to feed and house them). The entire Immigration System got screwed up somewhere, due to Government Ministers who had or have NO clue what the job entailed.\nI came to Canada in mid 1970s from ENGLAND. I immigrated to Canada in 1981 because I married a Canadian I should say French Canadian girl and it was just a better place for her to continue on with her background. We relocated to Ottawa which is bilingual and made it very easy for both of us to assimilate together. I moved back to the USA in 2006 to help my sick brother and move back again to Canada in 2016. I came back for many reasons. The political Edge in the united states, the guns out of control, the increased crime rate daily, in just too many people everywhere. Now I was living in the Tampa Bay area and a lot of the people come from out of state and out of country especially in the winter to spend their cold months in the sunshine. Some things I miss in the United States comes usually down to the cost of living. Unless you get sick. And I miss living by the Gulf of Mexico. Except during hurricane season. I prefer living in Canada only because it's a slower easier paced social environment. It has nowhere near the political stress that the United States has where it can almost be violent. Actually, where it has been violent. Revisit January 6th. Out of control guns with hot-headed men mostly can force you out as well and back to Canada. Canada's social structure and environment supersedes the United States tenfold. And of course as we get older, Healthcare is a priority. I'm thankful there's a place like Canada close to where I was born or I can spend the rest of my life enjoying it as opposed to looking over my shoulder constantly. I also find that Canadians have a huge appreciation of warm months. So many people are outside even when they are eating at restaurants. Because of the warmer months are so short, Canadians really take advantage of enjoying it and those months are never taken for granted. Winters in Ontario, like here in Ottawa, can be very cold once January and February come around. But once you make it into the middle of march, you can almost smell spring in the air and somewhere on the way. But there are those dreaded 8 weeks of oh my God ?

As a current international student I can say I am happy for all this changes Canada is doing in the immigration system sadly it was taken advantage by too many indians and people from africa that came here with not the best intentions, I can confidently say if in my case is not possible to stay I will happily return to central america with good memories and good friendships and start working again. thats life

I'm an immigrant who came here with my family on a sponsorship program in 2008. Never got in trouble, worked two jobs and busted our asses off to get the citizenship in 2014. What has happened to Canada under Trudeau's incompetent government with his mass immigration policies and taking in low-class South Asians who do nothing but scam their way to the top is nothing but a tragedy. I am an international student myself and I agree with all your points in the video, Canada used immigration to fix a deeper problem and that is its difficulty to incentivize the economy by having a heavily regulated environment, high taxes and low productivity. It will definitely alleviate some of the pressure on the system but, the real cause is still there. The first sector that is going to be affected will be the education as colleges and universities became over reliant with the revenue coming from Int. Students (which is not particularly small) and institution will need to adapt. When I first came here I fell in love with the country and I really feel fortunate to enjoy this beautiful place and doing everything to assimilate and integrate myself into the culture. I think here you can have a sense of hope of things improving in the future (something that is not the case in my home country) but if they do not fix the underlying problem it does not matter how much immigration they reduce, Canadians will not see a significant improvement. I find people leaving Canada came, got a passport and moved home but keep that passport close. Or you have the money to leave. How many want to leave their country but don’t have the money. India is dirt cheap as a foreigner but as an Indian wow it’s expensive.

I have been watching your videos for many years and recently your opinions have been against indian immigrants. People who came to Canada before covid and easily got PR are acting axactly like u right now. This video of PM is criticized by many with rationality. Migrants are facing negative sentiments from citizens and its sad u being an immigrant originally not understanding them.

We went there in 2023 March as temporary residents, came back last month, i.e. October 2024. Me and my husband both had jobs there, not white collar jobs though. Every point mentioned in the video is so true and valid. We saw/faced/experienced all of these and decided to come back. I saw comments about the Caribbean, our countries are not the same, there is one Caribbean country that is always in turmoil and their people are fleeing for refuge . Barbados don’t have no turmoil our people do not seek refugee status in no country. On top of that we have people from the UK, Canada and USA fleeing their country to migrate to ours, they don’t cause any issues at all.
