Quebec being number one is because it is subsidized by western Canada. If the Canadian government wasn’t so concerned about loosening the liberal vote and Quebec separating from Canada Quebec would probably rate about number 4. As a result the federal government pours more money into Quebec than all of western Canada. So if you love free money from the rest of Canadians Quebec being the most subsidized then Quebec would be Number 1.

Irony is all these people who are getting interviewed are first and second generation immigrants as well. Due to the inbuild hate towards other immigrants you would only get one answer which is there are too many. I never voted for Trudeau. EVER! And before you think I am a CP supporter, I am not. I am not a Conservative. Yet when he came to power I knew it would be a disaster for this country. As a Canadian citizen, I see that there are 3 major issues at play in this problem - \n\n1) Canadian colleges are starved off funds and do not have a sufficient, stable source of revenue. Hence they seek to attract international students who pay (at least) 4X the fee a Canadian citizen would pay. According to mainstream media such as The Globe and Mail, National Post and others, International students contribute some where between $15 to $18 billion per year in revenue to Canada. This is huge!\n\nSince this is a lucrative revenue stream for them, they have gone overboard and are providing strong financial incentives to education / immigration consultants to bring more international students here. Consequently, many existing as well as new colleges are encashing on this trend and diploma mills have mushroomed in Canada lately. This is ABSOLUTELY Canada’s fault and the accountability of fixing this lies with Canada alone.\n\n2. International students who come here often end up taking humongous debt or selling off their homes/ancestral property to be able to afford their education and hence they feel cheated when the dream they were sold doesn’t match the reality. \n\nHaving said that, International students do need to understand that they are here or a temporary visa and DO NOT get to dictate terms to Canada. It is Canada’s sole prerogative to extend their work visa or not, depending upon Canadians requirements.\n\n3. The Trudeau Liberal government benefits by giving these students extended work permits and a pathway to citizenship as it translates into votes for them. However this is an atrocious approach to winning elections and puts unnecessary pressure on the system. \n\nCanada needs to streamline this whole student visa process and take stringent action against these fake diploma mills, education and immigration consultants luring foreign students. It damages Canada’s reputation.\n\nLastly, extend the work permits of only those students that meet Canada’s labour standards and requirements and send everyone else back home.

i grew up in Brampton 20 years ago, a child of Caribbean parents. Whenever I go back I can say Yes, Brampton has changed over the years. I also remember that white/Canadian people were always the population struggling with substance abuse- particularly in the downtown area. Conflating the influx of indians with the downturn of white canadians seems to just fuel animosity and scape goat the issue onto a population of people that's probably just trying to seek a better life. why not ask the government to provide better social programs for those in need rather than fueling hate ? Why not investigate the structural issues that have contributed to this situation i.e. politicians gaining votes by doing xyz, or look into what people may be facing in the homelands? That would be a better piece of journalism imo. I think this video is highlighting this issue in ways history has seen before... can't we do better?

Yes, Justin is a nightmare, but the alternative of a Conservative government is even worse! Like in the US, UK and other countries, we have no great options for good leadership. I wish the NDP would get their shit together. Also, you failed to mention the Bloc's dangerous impact in Quebec. They sap much of the Fed vote in our second most populated province. They should not be allowed to be a Federal party when they only have representation in one province. EVERY Federal election is won or lost by blowing Quebec.

When left-leaning (social democrat) parties fail, they vote for right-leaning (more libertarian) parties, which anyone with any idea about the political theory would know favour the ones who own capital (who have accumulated wealth under social democrats), so now they can accumulate more wealth from the workers. It's a never-ending cycle if it continues like this. Capitalism has become a religion that people don't question just like religious people don't question their personal deity.

Even when they get through, many would still get deported. Next year is our election year and so many are fed up with this immigration issue and may likely vote for conservatives who are much stricter when it comes to immigration. Since the early 80's reactionary forces, the rich, the politically connected, became successful in fooling the middle class into voting themselves out of the middle class. I went to what was considered the most multi cultural high school in north america. Had Greek, Portuguese, Italian, Chinese, Indian, Ukrainian, Polish friends - it was awesome! The crazy thing is that some Canadians still have faith in Trudeau's party or just have too much trust in the government that they can turn this around. I want to see this country prosper but every few months I just keep on seeing new policies that the current government makes that just doesn't make sense.\n\nFew things to mention\n- No more investment in more roads by the federal government (I understand they want essentially to have citizens use cars less but they haven't provided a plan on how that money would be invested? I have yet to see trains being invested to connect cities such as High speed rail?)\n- Increased carbon taxes (most premiers were against this but they negged it on)\n- proposal and voting for Increasing taxes on capital gains (impact business that invest in Canada)\n- This is a positive thing but also happened because they polls went to the dump (increased investment in housing) and then decrease foreign student admission for future years ( I think this is where liberals say they have hope, but it's at a point where they messed it up and now are trying to fix it to make it look like they are fixing someone else's mess\n- The government is also just adding more policies we can't afford such as Dental plans for certain incomes, food in schools while the free health care doesn't really feel worth the taxes when the quality is not there. ( This is how they want to be the good guys when the conservatives need to cut costs to help resolve this mess)\n\nThe liberals are kind of like that guy in the family that takes a loan, pockets some money for corruption, then gives money away to charities saying I'm the good guy, and then doesn't know how to pay the loan back so asks for their family to help fund the debt.
