When I read all of this, I'm damn glad that I'm German and that I've managed to build something for myself. Even if not everything is perfect here, the health care and social security are better than in many countries. Unfortunately, our problem is that too many people are now being allowed in here who pay nothing, absolutely nothing, into the social systems, but only benefit from it. Twenty years ago things looked better here.

As an NRI for a decade in Germany, I can assure you that not a single person in the developed western world looks at India with a nicer opinion. They think of it as a necessary baggage. They will only allow Visa on Arrival/E-Visa for people whom they respect and would like to be in the country. While I do not want to get into how some Indians behave when they are on their EU trip, Indians in India do not behave well too. This involves hygiene, roads, infrastructure, intelligence, corruption, etc. Indians tend to look at the Indian flag with tears in their eyes while listening to A.R. Rahman’s “Vande Mataram” with Bharat Bala’s video. But the reality in the western world is this: India is a loud, messy, unhygienic, poorly organized country filled with corruption and crime everywhere. Now, why would a well-developed country open their doors to potentially unruly 1.4 billion people? The reason for visa rejection is that a lot of them simply apply for a tourist visa and never leave. If someone really needs to travel, they will have the money and the motivation to apply multiple times. Hence, the first check with multiple layers of bureaucracy.

I’m an Indian passport holder living abroad due to personal reasons. I’m eligible for the citizenship of a country that most people would dream to get but I do not like to apply for the same because then I would have to renounce my Indian citizenship (India does not allow dual citizenship). Indians themselves are responsible for visa rejections because most of our people (not all) go under the disguise of tourists with the intention to settle in that country. What kind of treatment would you expect then? I came legally and despite never compromising with my cultural values, I have always felt welcomed in the country that I live in. It’s about how you present yourself in the country that you live in. People are good everywhere in this world.

Deport the creators of problems, only allow working people, the world has enough entitled people.

The 14th Amendment does not allow birthright citizenship to anybody. It was for people under the jurisdiction of the U.S. If you are not under the jurisdiction because you are illegal, your children are not U.S. Citizens. It is very clear. People come here with IDS from their own country, just to have a baby. That is not how the Constitution interprets this.

Europeans and Americans as well as people ftom the rich Ara nations go to Infia as a tourist and then go back to their country. I don’t know about rest of the world but in the US alone, 700,000 Indians entered the country either illegally or overstayed their US visa just last year alone. In Canada, some Indian international students were discovered to have forged their education documents and now have been deported. Temporary workers are demanding permanent residency after work visa extensions have been cancelled due to housing shortages & increasing unemployment rate. \n\nIndian people in general are good workers but these protest aren’t helping and demanding they be allowed to stay while their documents are forged is upsetting Canadians. It unfortunately grouping everyone together.

India is 5th largest economy but the distribution is skewd. Rank is determined by number of countries you can travel visa free. If the countries starting allowing people without visa or allowing people with no money then they will go there and create havoc without any accountability! eg. watch dunki movie! India should focus on increasing middle class so that these countries automatically start allowing people.

I worked in India for 6 years and then shifted abroad for a Masters, and now I am pursuing a fully funded PhD. In the UK, what I have observed is that the crop of students arriving from India are by the day lesser inclined towards studies and more in pursuit of the quick buck. Yes, getting a ‘UK based work experience’ is necessary to build the edge to compete against the wider international students post graduation and I have myself worked part-time in profiles which complimented my course in parallel to prioritising studies. However, the increasing trend amongst the masses (I do not want to generalise but yes this is unfortunately true and especially from certain states, the case is magnified: Read Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana) remains getting that student visa to earn quick buck to support themselves financially, chiefly, save up to dole out to so called ‘assignment writers’ which helps them pass the course to further graduate and transfer to a grad visa (again comes at a cost) which allows them 2 years worth of stay with no working hour stipulation post graduation. Thereon, work full time in laborious jobs with again not focussing on applying to full time opportunities in the field of study. Thus, what remains at the end of the day is lost time and opportunity and since I am only talking of people who come here on a Student VISA so primarily, the opportunity cost lost to upskill and further horizons. For the country’s perspective, getting cheap, skilled labour for an unskilled job is obviously an advantage but then there are cases of students not respecting their working hour restrictions, vandalising, bickering loudly, joining hands with the already operating extremist forces which instigate violence and hatred etc. In all, I think the resistance to not becoming bicultural which is a product of serious mental and physical toil and wasting time in frivolity is the main cause of the anti-immigration wave.

First of all . I am an Indian living in Australia. \n1. The way some of us are behaving in these countries is the worst . Instead of respecting their culture and laws, we start behaving in the same way as in India .\n2. I don't want to put it out, but some people from certain places have a ready solution even if the immigration change their rules . They know every means to cheat their way in. \n3. Take, for example, 200 people come from other countries and do nonsense in India. Will we allow them ? Noooo, right ... but right now, thousands of our Indians are damaging other countries, bringing all kinds of dirty activities we do in India .Unnecessary protests are just 0.1% of them\n\nThis is the best decision taken by the other countries and it should become more strict in the coming days

In all fairness… we can’t complain. It is right of countries to allow anyone or not. Maybe India should do the same. The reason for Indian visa being in the 81st rank is the number of people who want to migrate....other countries cannot allow lakhs of Indians who wish to relocate to their country....on the other hand, countries like Kosovo or Burkina Faso are tiny countries by population and have a very low rate of migration to other countries....Indian large-scale migration can be seen as a threat by other countries....

I think most western countries are fed up with indian scams and calll center scams. On a daily basis people get 3-10 calls from scam indian call centers. Usa lost over 10 billion dollars to indian scammers last year. Maybe shut down those scam centers and catch those criminals and maybe western countries will start allowing more indian visas.

Hell no! It’s a fun place to visit, I love Florida California. I’m looking forward to going to the Carolinas, but I would never move there permanently. As a woman in Canada with children, what I do with my uterus is nobody’s business. I like my option of 18 month parental leave. I like my option not to do overtime and not have affect my job. I would prefer my children to live in a multicultural society where they are just used to other traditions and culture and Orientationchoices. That is not based on the colour of your skin. I like to have a conversation about a political opponent without it getting dangerous you’re allowed to have an opinion up here and that’s how we view it, but quite frankly after half an hour 15 minutes we we get bored of political views and just walk away from you.There’s no such a thing as you don’t want to live in that area and you have to be careful about where your kid goes to school. What does that do to the people that you’ve left behind? How does that make that better for them? I had a friend that worked down in the United States and every time I talk to her, she always uttered. I have to be aware of my white privilege.
