I don't believe her. You don't stand in line for days for a green card. There are only a handful of ways to get a green card and standing in line isn't one of them.

The fact that we have so many people in the US undocumented and living here for decades tells us that our legal process is not sufficient for allowing people to come legally. Having that many people tells us we need to treat this as a policy problem, not an individual-making-bad-choices problem. And spending billions of dollars on border patrol tactics that still allow for so many illegap immigrants tell us that our resources are grossly misspent. Plus we treat legal asylum seekers as if they were illegal (depriving people of food, keeping them from crossing in the first place) so people will choose whatever method will get them here. People can be here legally for well over a decade before getting a green card and then even longer to get citizenship.

For the record..............\nThere is almost no possibility of coming back to the USA legally once u have been deported, unless u have proof of US citizenship.\nIf u have a green card, it will be canceled. \nIf u have no paperwork and leave the US, u are subject to a (likely) 10 year BAN from entering the US or applying for a visa or paperwork (Republicans in Congress passed that law - IIRAIRA in 1996) \nAnd if u apply for a US visa at any consulate outside of the USA after the ban has expired, u need a WAIVER for being in the US illegally (which is separate from the visa application) or ur application will be denied on the spot.

Well to be honest, Mexican immigrants who have worked so hard in this country, have waited DECADES to get a green card, while brand new immigrants who do not like to work are getting their work permits and green cards within days after arriving.

I am a U.S. born Mexican-American. This woman disgusts me. My father was a decorated WWII veteran. He, too, was a U.S. born citizen, as well as my mother. We never had much. One thing they both taught me was to help people who had less than we did. I look mexican, yet when I open my mouth, I don't have the accent my parents had. I have been targeted by random people just minding my business running errands. I have on occasion stuck up for my fellow Hispanic when I have seen them ignored and mistreated. What the f is wrong with this person. Was she not taught anything about empathy and compassion? Isn't she at risk of being deported? The green card can easily be taken away. The only reason we are willing to leave our countries to live in the US is because you have a country where we can thrive. In order to go to the US, we go through the process and apply for visas and the green card. That's being honest. We don't want the country filled with illegal immigrants who jump the border. Doing it the right way means needing a beneficiary or money. You don’t get a green card for a job. You need to be married or have money and buy one. It’s super expensive. Instead of kicking them out they should be given work or student visas until they earn their place here. But kicking them out helps no one really. This lady is super privileged.
