From a year ago. The reality for desperate immigrants on the other side of that bridge in Ciudad Juarez today must be horrific. So devastating to the souls that have fled so far and so long, just to be stuck in that city with its murderous history.

They don’t even try to assimilate when they get here! They treat our cities and neighborhoods just like they do in their home country! They could care less about our way of life. This is an invasion!!

This shows you just how heartless and cold blooded the Democrats are,, they started this shit,, they didn’t care one bit about these people,, all they wanted was their vote,, doesn’t it bother anybody that sanctuary cities are only in states that have no voter ID laws,, so to the Democrats,, they get these people across the border they can vote in these states,, and you people wanted to keep them in power

It's so tremendously sad to see this, but walk through encampment in any major US city and it's worse. I understand and don't blame them but were screwing our own people and have been so so long.

Maybe the EU could learn from this. European cities are a mess because the EU stops anyone being deported. Beyond time europe got tough or Brexit won’t be the last!

I live in Toronto and ive been around Canada. In all the cities of Canada, it is way way worse than 10 years ago. I don't recognize it anymore. Drugs, crime, and cost. It sucks right now.

There is in fact no actual housing shortage in the USA whatsoever. The problem is that that wealthy individuals have strong incentives to park excess capital in real estate and landlords have strong incentives to maintain asset values through cash flow potential (appraised through $/sq.ft rent revenues). What ends up happening in both cases is that you end up with lots of empty houses sitting collecting dust artificially gaining value due to scarcity, and with rentals, you end up with perpetually inflated rents and vacancy rates that are as high as a landlord can tolerate just to maintain the appearance of value to the lenders. Often these owners will borrow more money and use an apartment that might be 40% vacant as the collateral for the lender and go buy another building and so on. What people don't penalize is the fact that that 40% vacant building with 60% rented out at above fair value gets treated on the balance sheet to the bank as if its 90% rented out from an asset value perspective thereby setting the asset price artificially high. Simple legislation of the tax code can fix this issue and unlock lots of sidelined housing. All we have to do is progressively tax 2nd 3rd 4th ect. homes higher and higher rates that essentially cancel out the asset gains, and do something similar for vacant units in a apartment building. \nIts just at the core a case of the rich hoarding something that has been made artificially rare. On top of all of this, because of how valuable properties have become, there are now many interests that capitalize on the entire process of building new housing that make it ever more expensive. Our taxes are funding numerous regulators that stymie new development, while the developers have to then hire numerous attorneys and planners to pitch a project and litigate it through the cities to get approvals. This can take over 10 years in a major city. All this contributes to the ridiculous costs of building these days.

‘Sanctuary Cities’ where criminals can get refuge and protection from prosecution in the USA?\n‘Guantanamo prison’ as the saying goes “If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime”.

If these immigrants do not recognize and respect our border laws, what makes you think they will honor or follow any other law in America. Wake-up! My Lord, have the American people in sanctuary cities lost their minds. What will it take for you to acknowledge this is a dangerous invasion! Nothing good can come from breaking US laws from the get go.

Hiring someone based on their physical attributes is discriminatory. Change this to hiring someone to a position like this based on their skin being white would result in cities being torched.

I see a lot of Venezuelans in my city. You can easily spot them. Uncool designer labels like Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. Black Nikes and some goofy sunglasses. Mexican and Central Americans are wearing work clothes like Carhartt etc. The Venezuelans are working non laborious jobs like food delivery. Somehow they easily afford cars as they are heavily subsidized by the government both on a local and federal level. No insurance tag or driver's license.

Its a clear message for immigrants the world is economically shrinking instead of going abroad to make career it's better to make a career in its own country. For this one has to relocate him/her self within the country that's in a new city then go for it.

It’s sad to see that. However we Americans are struggling ourselves. Our cities are flooded with unhoused Americans. This need to be done. It is what it is.

This started Friday in Brazil ?? when the interior minister with police and media boarded a US plane refueling in a Brazilian city carrying returning Brazilian migrants. The police acted surprised when they discovered the migrants were all handcuffed and leg ironed. They were removed, fed, showered and returned home by Brazil.\nThis was big news throughout the Latin countries.\nThe Colombian President would not accept his civilians being treating as criminals. Colombia ?? sent a plane to pick up their citizens without the mechanical restraints.\nColombia has now imposed a 50% tariff on all American products and seeking other countries to partner with, in effect shutting out the US. This is gonna be so good for china’s ?? economy

Not the responsibility of struggling Americans to take care of other countries or people fleeing from them. We are not their slaves. We have enough homeless already and not enough homes and the last thing we need to do is destroy more land to make more cities for all these immigrants. More cities means more polution, no way around it. We cant absorb the whole world and we're already past the point of living in balance with the llanet naturally.

as an American here in the USA a house will go up in price the further you get away from a city

Allowing illegal immigration to take place willingly is making it impossible for Americans to live out the American dream. It’s not about us not being considerate or empathetic. It’s about us having those feelings for Americans because we are hurting our economy. Our jobs. Our schools are production and manufacturing are all hurting. Crime rates are skyrocketing sanctuary cities are turning into dystopian crime syndicate, filled organizations.

The democrats promoted breaking the law by unimaginable numbers of illegal migration passing the burden to local governments unfairly and discriminately dislocating the locals and upending the cities’ finances just so democrats will amass more registered democrat supporters.

NOTHING is happening here. Everything stays in limbo so they don’t have to deport. It’s sickening. My city IS NOW the third world, EVERYONE at food banks and inflated rents not changing!! Meanwhile they keep having more babies awaiting the “ approvals”.

An average Canadian after compulsory deductions and rent ends up with only 10% as disposable income. In the great capitalist nation of USA after compulsory deductions and rent an average American has 30-40 % income. In addition due to the socialism our per capita income is only 72% of the great capitalist nation of USA. This implies that for every disposable dollar an American has we have only 25 cent. Now we are 10% of US population so for every $1 of disposable market they offer us we offer them 2.5c worth of market
\n
\nHow can such one sided unequal deals work? It is obvious one party is looting its own citizens and that is not enuff so it has to loot the American consumer with higher disposable income and also students/immigrants from grower saver, efficient and productive economies. And obviously that party was elected by 2 cities and China. And obviously how long will agenda of loot work specially when 100% of looters suffer TDS

Hundreds of thousand have come to U.S in last few years illegally or claiming asylum. U.S cities are unrecognizable. And india is not even a conflict zone. It’s just because they don’t ‘like’ living in India. They worship their ugly ass pm and bark all over the internet ‘India superpower 2020’ ??. So just stay there. In 80’s 90’s you see a shabby brown guy and guess it’s Mexican. Now you think it’s Mexican, turns out to be Indian.

No more free hotel stays and buses to sanctuary cities. You all had chances and look what happened to the country. Crime, drugs, gangs and taxes wasted.

The american people voted for this! When a city or town gets an increase in population, the average american has to pay for this not only in higher taxes, but these folks aren't going to rich areas they go to lower income and middle class areas. Putting a strain on resources that everyday americans need.

He is also getting rid of legal ways for asylum seekers to get into the country , which isn’t the win y’all think it is. \n\nThe United States created those problems in Latin America that people are fleeing from. \n\nFrom Los Angeles in the Pacific to New York City in the Atlantic, an iron curtain of tyranny, ignorance, and oligarchy has descended across the continent.

They think they are going to be able to do this without any opposition from those of us who live in the cities where our neighbors reside. I don't think anyone has thought through how this is actually going to play out.

If you've crossed the United States border illegally you've broken the law therefore you are a criminal. Aiding and abetting a criminal is a chargeable offense, sanctuary cities be warned. Obey the law or suffer the consequences.

Certainly the American people want to help all legal immigrants. \nBut the Gulf of America has a lot of problems, the Mexican Drug Cartel, and Human Trafficking along the Borders. \nThe Arctic Storms currently sweep the \nGulf of America. \nMexico is a warmer climate for people without homes. \nThe U.S. must rid our cities of Terrorists that have entered the U.S. under the Biden Administration. \nNearly 13 million unvetted Aliens have entered the U.S. \nWhen these Terrorists have been sent back to their countries of origin. \nThen we can allow good honest hardworking legal immigrants to once again enter the greatest nation on earth.

As an Indian living in Australia, i support the rejection of visas. Indian behave like they're living in India. Ladies in my class from punjab will speak only punjabi and ask desi lectures if they can teach the class in Hindi. \nAlso occasionally the khalistanis will do demonstrations here creating traffic. \nMany indians visiting nearby Vietnamese cities lile bali also disrespect locals there. They think all the ladies there will sleep with them for money.\n\nThe reporter should see this side of Indians before questioning the west on why they reject visas. In my opinion this reporter is biased and wont show the entire truth to the world.

?.... after one year Canada census show Toronto and surrounding boundaries gain over 3 million people, the # 1 influx of people in all of North America.\nSo let me get this straight your view of Toronto is different from millions and they're still coming?\nHow I gauge if Toronto is changing for the bad is simple.\nI walked a two mile radius of my home and what I see is improvement after improvement. And if I see dumping for example I call 311 and within 48 hours it's gone.\nOne thing I find very odd...for a country and city where cost of living the highest ever....why is everyone spending money improving their property...none are rundown.

can't give an opinion about living in USA, because I never stayed for long (only for vacations or short visits), but as a visitor, I used to go once or twice a week in the 90's (I used to live 5 minutes drive from the border), as a visitor, I was always welcomed and made friends very easily. Of course, being only a visitor, I didn't have to experience day to day life or any major problems. About police presence, I guess it depends where you go in USA, I'm from Montreal & we also have a very visible police presence (guess it's common in bigger cities). Didn't have any problems with police in USA, like everywhere, if you comply, you'll have good relationship with policemen. If you try to play or disrespect them, you're in for some trouble--no different here in Canada.
