I live in Ontario Canada. Generally; I vote Liberal. I voted Trudeau in twice.... now regretting it a little bit. He has done some good for me; but also bad.\nCanada started plummeting after COVID hit; and it has gotten worse. The main errors made by this government are with both the Liberals and Conservatives agreeing to 'grown' big corporates into HUGE monopoly corporates. TO compete with the USA. Due to this; we are now paying food prices through our ears!! Crazy. Also; there seems to be a level of corruption regarding the housing issue. No affordable housing. Not enough homes built. Only the rich can afford homes now. Government gets to tax that; and they love it! The rich class have more clout in voting for a government that aids them in making more and more money that they rob from the POOR house renters. The lower and middle class. As the Middle class in Canada is now becoming poor. The rich get much richer. This government is trying to bring in thousands of immigrants to stimulate the economy. But mostly; the immigrants have taken over all the lower Canadian jobs. We can't get them anymore. Because immigrants work cheap here; and sign onto contract deals with mega-corps that ensure they keep working for 2 years. Job entry level Canadians (are left without). There are also not nearly enough houses for immigrants to live in anyway! This government did not anticipate that we simply do not have enough homes for immigrants, nor Canadians alike!! What a fail. Healthcare is also failing huge... mostly thanks to the Conservatives who love to block almost every good healthcare BIll possible.

In my province healthcare is ostensibly nonexistent. Wait times at ER's are well over 12 hours and you're often directed to go home without ever seeing a doctor. \nThere is an extreme deficit of doctors. I've been waiting 6 years for one and there are people who have waited much longer with no relief in sight. \nHousing is unaffordable. A decent (nothing special) one bedroom 1 bath apartment is around 1600 a month and this is a largely rural province, not a metropolitan city. \nHomes are being bought as fast as they go on the market at extremely inflated prices by people moving here to escape the more populated provinces. This has raised property taxes by 20% in the last 2 years.\nThe economy is in shambles. Homelessness is exploding and the government seems uninterested in fixing it in any realistic or helpful way.\nFederal and provincial income taxes are nearly 50% of your income (44% for me and a bit more for my wife). So, what money you do make you get to keep a little more than half.\nElectricity is about 3 times what it is in the US and the rate here is increasing by 29% over the next 3 years.\nGroceries are unreasonably expensive and becoming more pricey by the day. Provincial sales tax is 15% on top of those groceries as well. \nThis is a short list of a few of the more glaring issues but there are far more. Canada has transformed over the last 5 years into a place I hardly recognize anymore. If something isn't done about it soon we'll be living in a third world country by 2030.

All points are bang on. Too many monopolies inside too many extremely large categories. The taxes are out of control!!!! Everyone says free health care. Not true. What percentage of healthcare is done through company benefits? My guess is a high %. Also, look at some of the salaries people are making who work for the governments! The city I live in, about 150,000. There are dozens of “captains in the fire department as well as dozens of captains in training making 120,000 per year and have the ability to work 24 hour shifts (how much downtime) and I’m not sure how many days total in a month they have to work 6 or 7 shifts a month. We have a LOT of firemen. My property taxes are over $6000 per year now.

Nice and well thought out video. Even though I don't agree with everything, you said it in a considerate way and shared your honest experience. It was just unfortunate that you did not get enough time to settle down. Moving to any new place is extremely tough and especially when you are moving to a completely new city. I live in Germany and I love it here. My wife and I came here to study, but my wife came first and she had a really bad first 6 months in winter. Things got much better later. We Indians miss house help so much in early days, but the fact is you have so much free time here and things are well organized. You don't waste time in traffic, you don't have to go 10 times to a government office to get work done, you don't have to sit with kids everyday to do homework, kids can come and go to school on their own, there is little dust so houses don't get dirty every day, everything is planned and no one is visiting your house suddenly. So in reality, doing the house chores aren't such a big deal because you have a lot of time.

These problems have gotten a lot worse in the last 8 years. I think the main issue is immigration. We are bringing in more people than what we can deal with. I am not against immigration, but just like all the other things the current federal government has done, they are doing immigration wrong. They think immigration is good, so tthey open the hose fully to bring in as many as possible. This is a bad strategy. They should be bringing in a lot less immigrants and that would lessen the housing issues. I think that this is destabilizing our economy to the point where it could have a dire outlook on Canada. I wouldn't be surprised if some provinces leave confederation. What we need is a balanced approach to all things governmental. Not a LEFT or RIGHT solution, a BALANCED CENTRIC solution. Time to vote differntly.

You left out 2 other huge issues with Canada that did not exist 8 years ago. 1: we have seen very significant democratic backsliding, our current federal government is by far the most oppressive peacetime government in our history on top of being the most corrupt in our history… and 2: crime has been skyrocketing since 2015. Ten years ago Canada was in the top 10 safest countries in the world, we are now barely in the top 20. Criminals have all the rights (thanks to the courts) as the worst government in our history is going after law abiding citizens who have done nothing wrong instead of criminals. I lived in Toronto my whole life and there have been major ethnic groups co-operating to muffle other ethnic groups, a passive racist attempt of pushing certain minorities out. \nThen Canada's government had a bright idea and started bending down to three major powers, which heavily invested in purchase of lands (like it was a real life game of monopoly) while in rapid succession- building townhouses and duplexes (then ditching all of that and opting for condominiums as the ultimate seize all in property value).\nIt became unlivable starting around 2015 (because of a specific group of migrants that have been aggresively flooding in [I can say that because I am of that origin, but born here and aware of what THEY can do]).\nCanada started dying around 2006-2007 and her last breath was at 2010. There are too many idiots in serious, highly attentive occupations and it is a major risk for the future of Canada. Instead of hiring adults with mature minds, they hire adult bodies with child like mentality and tolerances, on top of that- a sinister identity crisis, with no logic to back it. Rent will keep increasing as there is no competitive market. as many of the people in Canada are already operating carousel tax fraud. Look that up on W5 and Canada is doing nothing to stop this, guess where all the ones at the top of that carousel are from? As long as there are ones operating illegal business earning more than the average hard worker being able to afford higher rent the rent will not be decreased but keep going up. Saying that they are bringing in mostly younger people is a lie too, they bring in everyone. That our workers are aging out and there will be nobody to do the work. Let's think about this clearly, as the population grows we need more businesses, more schools, more produce etc... Fact we need the same amount of business for a community based on the size of the community I would think. In the 1800's a small school house was sufficient, a local convenience store was enough with a mail order catalogue etc.. As population grows you need more. We also now have self check outs etc.. We are cutting down Canadas number one resource trees to make way for more and more roads etc.. Having to spend more to change and widen roads, feed these refugees, support them till they get situated, house them for how long, educate, train them, and then hope they can actually adapt and not hate us etc.. Look around the world and not just in our own back yards i.e. what happened in NY today, look at Britain afraid to put up Merry Christmas not to offend or any Christian monuments. Yet we have to tolerate. hmmm As said before I am neither Christian nor Jewish I am Natsarim and view those things as pagan myself but feel this world is going down the wrong path and nobody should have to cave in for the sake of others. Having to pay for healthcare is a huge detractor for me. I would never move there because of it. I got breast cancer a couple of years ago. I had many rounds of chemotherapy, surgery, radiation & I can’t even tell you the amount tests were done. MRIs, CT scans, frequent doctor & specialist appointments, Scans of all kinds. I’m still in awe of everything they did for me & of course, thankful (is an understatement). \nI can’t imagine what all that would have cost. I didn’t have to pay anything. It was all covered by the government. I ham now over one year out and currently cancer free. ???

I'm leaving next year as well. I've been in Canada for 5 years now and I love Canada.\nBut practically i don't think i can ever buy a house here and start a family. I'm 24 and i came here when i was 19. We are in a very broken state, we have a labor shortage so we need immigrants, but we also have a housing shortage so we don't have enough housing for the people already living here so we definitely don't enough for the immigrants that we need to fill the labor shortages either. I work in construction and I know quite a few contractors in my town, I know one guy who has been sitting on a piece of property for 3 years waiting for the go ahead to start building, but our local government is dragging their feet. The 2 4plexs he is building could of been done already giving 8 more families a home, but instead its just an empty lot waiting to be developed.

Canada's system need improvement. That's an understatement if I ever heard one. When the necessities of life are made difficult to acquire and the government doesn't do it's job to fix it, you don't have much of a choice but to leave. It's basic survival. Both Canada and America have huge problems right now. As a 73yo Canadian I have NEVER seen so much hate for our Government. Everyone has the exact same complaints, like it was scripted. I can't talk from a point of experience in Canada but from a point of experience in Kenya. I had lived in TO from 2000 to 2005 and had seen a trajectory of high housing costs and increased crime rate back then . Leaving was the decision I did not regret since these same issues have become worse. I am disappointed with the government at all levels, who have done nothing to solve these problems. COVID is used as an excuse, but the reality is that during COVID the housing market boom ? while many people were unemployed, it is perplexing.

I watched these business owners whose workers in the farms are mostly women, and they were very happy that women are easier to control and have good work ethics as opposed to men. The main problem in Canada is you keep toiling year after year but you cannot really see you achieve a life where you are secure that you have made it. Cold weather, there are many cold countries like Scandinavian countries etc. but even migrants stay put because one's life improved. Canada just wanted to extract money from foreigners like international students, migrants without or even PRs but the promised benefits are in fact also gotten from them due to the many stiff taxes, & not really from the gov't. My nephews & niece supposedly given education but those are loans that must be paid after graduation. But the problem is there are no jobs even if they graduated with flying colors and nice courses. It was said work is easier if already citizens and studied there but no use. If there are jobs, so many asked like work history, credit background how can they have it when they just graduated so accepted jobs for undergraduates like mopping floors, fastfood crew & entailed years, so how can the payback be with just minimal earnings? Canada just make slaves of migrants with nothing done in their lives but work, work, work no spare time to rest then taxes, taxes, taxes. No savings even if very thrifty. Everything has tax - Exorbitant income taxes, home tax, rent tax, car tax, insurance tax, bank account tax, electricity tax, internet tax, cellphone tax, and many more. Slaves because you only live to sustain the government BUT YOU CANNOT RECEIVE THE PROMPT AND COMPLETE SERVICES promoted. So people got depressed and unhappy especially with the gloomy cold weather. It's not like jobs in other countries or even in one's home country where even if you toiled hard and made sacrifices, you moved forward by assets acquired like lots, houses, big bank account balances but no, in Canada you can't, it must all go to the Govt. It's like Communism.
