I am an immigrant, and have been in Canada for 17 years. The country has gone to poop. I am saving up as much as I can so I can GTFO of here ASAP. My advise to anyone wanting to come, come visit first and DYOR; the country is ruined and it won't be fixed for decades.

Even provincial government’s hire temporary foreign worker’s. \n\nHow is anyone supposed to rise in Canada, when your economic legs are being constantly kicked out from underneath you ?\n\n Class warfare is a term i would use to describe a country that doesn’t want to hire its own people and see them rise. \n\nThe Canadian post secondary education institutions gobble up residential home’s and apartment’s because they haven’t invested in they’re own on campus dormitory's. \n\nIt’s like people in Canada are expected to bend over any grab their ankles as the norm. It is immoral to use the Canadian immigration system to suppress wages and inflate housing cost’s of home and apartment rentals. \n\nCountry’s that have population’s of close to a billion people, need to step up, and better develop their own economy’s and education institution’s. Stop with the expectation that country’s like Canada, should always carry the burden and responsibility, to educate a continual portion your one billion citizen’s, or your even your hundred million citizens. No good can come from Canada, continually carrying that load. \n\nIt isn’t about being anti immigrant or being racist, that isn’t the issue. It’s about being fare and cognizant of the people in Canada, who aren’t just passing through. There are people that came here to stay, and whose ability to rise, is being stifled and sabotaged. It is said in the video, “after exhausting all possible options, a local migrant and a member of the 2s LGBTQ COMMUNITY was just hours away from being forced to leave Canada and set to face possible dangers in Kenya, but an 11th hour miracle happened…” \nCould anyone explain whether this means that this is the only person who has been facing deportation and who would be set to face possible dangers or does this mean that, from all people who have been facing deportation and who would be set to face possible dangers, this person is chosen because he is a bisexual man? Does it mean that the only reason why “Canadian government halts deportation” is because this man is a member of the LGBTQ COMMUNITY, and, if so, does it mean that, from all categories of protected or vulnerable persons, Canadian government makes exceptions only for members of the LGBTQ COMMUNITY? Could this happen that, in all other vital areas of life, Canadian government treats members of the LGBTQ COMMUNITY as being more important than members of all vulnerable groups of persons?

Has it ever occurred to all the right wingers in the comments that the laws governing Canada's treatment of refugees are pretty standard and comparable to the rest of the civilized world? That they exist EXACTLY for people like this man? Or do you just have a complete hate-on for anyone who isn't white? ?

I am from India and been living in Canada for 18 years. I am living here with my family and I am so grateful to this country and respect the country and the freedom I have. The thing is homelessness is a fact that is coming from the most broken families. And here cannabis legal. I could see most white peoples don’t want to go to work, even there is enough work for them. And as a country to grow, they need youngsters for the workforce, but unfortunately Canadians people don’t have enough kids to support the country. And the kids are grown from the broken families maybe ending up in the streets. Indians are most of them only marry once and keep their marriage life till the end. So many divorce can ruin the life too. So the students coming here in Canada, how they get visa, Government don’t know that. We can’t blame them, because this is the offer they get from here. \nBut even though I am from India, I have enough from Indian people here in Canada. I always questioned the people from India either you guys respect the culture here or please go back. The reason I love Canada is Canadians are so pleasant and so helpful. I don’t like not only Indians but anyone who is coming to Canada, if you love the country that the country you are not living please leave and don’t mess up this country. Leave your Culture back home. Your festival do it inside of your house don’t block the streets. Keep your Gods inside your home, everyone is not enjoying that what you doing. The worst thing I felt, no respect nowadays and nuisance, late night parties no respect for neighbours and no cleanliness. Because of some people we all are get treated same. Hindus wanted to bring their religion here, Muslims wanted to bring their religion, buddhists wanted their religion here. Can’t blame Christians because Canada is a Christian based country and I never saw them blocking the Road or streets. In Canada, there used to be a difference between ‘immigrant’ & ‘refugee’. Trudeau and his government have made these two groups into one. My family immigrated from England in the 1950s. My father had to have a job waiting for him when we arrived. We had to go through health checks. My parents had to prove that we had a specific amount of money so that we would not be a drain on Canada. Trudeau has opened the border to anyone wanting to come no matter if they have anything to offer Canada.

Most Canadians are terrified to step out into the unknown, so like a caged bird, it prefers the caged life. If you ACTUALLY leave Canada, you'll feel the weight literally lift off. Me, its been 20 years and counting since I left, you can do it, if I can do it, anyone can.

It's honestly getting tough to live anywhere. Global inflation is everywhere!! I live in The United States, and it's no better here, it's worse. There are many times I have thought of moving to Canada, because I'm so tired of the safety issues in this country. I've done extensive research on several countries to move to and it's not very difficult to see why so many Canadians (among those who have options) are leaving Canada. Here's one important data point for anyone who is interested: In the OECD's national growth rate projections to 2060 (not a typo, 2060), Canada has placed dead last! There are 38 OECD members. What this means is that the fundamentals are not in place in Canada. The country is now in free fall, as there is not enough wealth creation happening, and it's just not true, as this video suggests, that Canada still offers endless 'opportunities'. Stop the disingenuousness.

Canadian government brought millions of Visitor visa holder, who applied for asylum. They approved just anyone in 2023-2024. But, they made it difficult to get PR for the skilled people, they made Express Entry so difficult these days. Welcome to the ex-pat club. I left Canada 14 years ago. Talking to people I still keep in touch with in Canada I realize just after Trudeau got in power that Canada has changed. I suggest if you plan on a move do your research on where you are thinking of moving to. Do not rely on a vacation as they are very different than actually living in a place. I speak from experience. Do I get homesick? Yes but right now I would not even think of moving back to Canada. I am very settled and happy living in the EU even with the problems here. Some things to check out are various cities or towns in various regions of a country, healthcare, schools if you have children, cost of running a car (petro, insurance, etc), price of food, utilities, etc. If your work papers or degrees are accepted, what visas you will need. Once you have made a decision, start learning the language. I could do it anyone can do it.

Canada is bigger than USA with a population less than California. They have as many natural resources as Russia. They are sitting next to the biggest market where you can export even stones if you attach a story. I understand peoples idea of leaving Canada. That's okay, you can do that. I'll never leave Canada. It's my home, it's gonna be my home. I was allowed to grow up with and almost among them. At school, the children of Western European guest workers, including Turkey. \nWell Canada was always the brother of the States in my eyes. The dream country when the States don't work. Since Trudeau and Covid, unfortunately, a lot has gone off the rails. Oh yes, Germany is not the answer, if that's what anyone thinks. I came back to Canada in 2022 after 20 years living abroad, and it's been a mixed bag. Getting a good job is extremely difficult as international experience is rarely factored into potential employers decisions to hire - even if the companies you've worked for are Fortune 500. If you didn't work for that company in Canada, good luck getting the same position. You'll be working in a junior position despite your previous job title. My wife is currently going through this. She went from Project Manager at one for largest companies in the world to junior developer at a small company. Pay is.......not great.\n\nI've been lucky with having a lot of support of family and friends. A lot of the clients I've started to work with in my profession came through people I know. I never would have got these opportunities on my own in that amount of time. It would have taken years. Nepotism played a big part.\n\nTo come to Canada, and start a new life without a solid support system would be absolutely brutal right now. I got really lucky, but my situation isn't normal. I wouldn't recommend anyone (Canadian or immigrant) to come back right now if they're been gone for a long time. The rent alone is enough to turn anyone away.

I propose that anyone who is not making at least 100k a year to leave the country immediately, even if your grandparents came here as land thieves. Canada will then have a prosperous economy again.

I was born in Ottawa. Over the course of my 45 years I have watched the country become progressively worse the entire time I've been alive. I don't begrudge anyone jumping for their lives at this point. My only wish is that everyone in the world acknowledge that the only thing that makes Canada a horrible place to be is the government, or at least the government for the past 45 years.

If you or anyone inn the same situation have enough (A lot) of money, of course it's the smart choice to move abroad. You are still super young. But someone close to retirement and after living in Canada for a long time, Its not that smart. Canadian goverment wont pay you full pension if yu don't live for a minimum amount of time a year inside Canada. So giving away your money to the Canadian gov is not something that a lot of people are willing to do. Not after living years here and paying huge tax. But again you are lucky that you are young.

Anyone coming to Canada now has to know they're coming to run a hotel. Doesn't matter what your education or passion is, you WILL be running a hotel. It's the only way to deal with not only extreme property overvaluation, but also the absolutely massive property taxes that are now HIGHER than RENT was in the 90s. It's sad that after 40 years here I'll never earn enough to keep up with these extreme tax hikes and will be moving in a couple years because I do NOT want to run a hotel and I do NOT want to live in a tent or a van. Between property tax and $800 an hour dentists this place has become unlivable.

Canada has always had great potential, BUT that is and has been under attack and is eroding quickly. No country can do what we are doing and remain organized and plentiful like it used to be. Sorry to say woke and cultural hijacking will be the demise of this country.
