I will say that i like what that robert bigalow was doing with the budget suites. I stayed there temporarily. It would be so awesome for canada to do this for the housing crisis. Not only is it it impossible to live here, there are no resources unless the government gets something from it. As an indigenous child who grew up in foster care my whole life, there was no indigenous foster care homes for me to go to and therefore my culture has become traumatic for me. My OWN culture has major trauma related to it and my foster care agency would NOT help me unless I moved to the reservation after I aged out the THEIR system, which was not applicable because they were the ones who traumatized me. When I turned 19, I was expected to have it all figured out, I was not allowed to remain in my foster home afterwards without massive paper work and thank god my foster mom cared about me because without her, I would be on the streets with nothing but a garbage full of clothes. I moved out on my own with the help of that family and my agency said they would help with things if I asked. As of the economy now, I did ask them. I asked them for any help at all and my social worker LITERALLY ghosted me and stood me up, even at my plea for help. You would think this is just my case but there are hundreds of cases like mine with even worse endings and what Canada has done with this information is nothing. Foster Care in Canada for indigenous youth is the 2000’s way of Residential Schools and I am EXTREMELY lucky to NOT be homeless and dead. Many of my friends in similar situations are dead or homeless and I have no hope for Canada, it’s an extremely depressing reality.

The Asian Canadian population is pretty much only in the bigger cities that take up most of the population. If we also took into account anywhere outside of the big cities, then there is still a majority of Indigenous and European Canadians living there.

Coming from the UK, it's laughable seeing white people of European ancestry claiming Canada is 'their country'. Tell that to the indigenous peoples that were displaced as a result of colonisation. They've got the real right to say they feel like strangers in their own land.

2 things: (1)How are Indians to be blamed for the white people homelessness and alcohol/drug use. (2) Since when did Canada belong to the white man? Never was , never is! This land belongs to the Indigenous people, and immigrants build Canada. Everyone is immigrants here, all white skin , French , Indian etc (excepy the Indigenous people). So spred love and unity in this Diversity known as Canada. There are always a majority of races in every city, and that should not raise any questions of racism and judgemental remarks. It's always difficult to see changes around you and your home being in your words being raided by foreign entities. Guess what? The world is filled with different ethnic groups. Hundreds of years ago all your native homes were part of the indigenous people here and they didn't even have time to complain or lament online when the Europeans butchered them and massacred their homelands, claiming the land and setting up as their own. Now you are in a position to call something your home and we all know what all your ancestors did regardless of how good you are right now. The least you can do is not comment such provocatively online against other ethnicities or is this atrocity still there in your blood. It's very simple. well, there was the wave of immigrants that came to Canada from Europe, and pushed out the indigenous, and established the christian way of living, including christian churches all over the country. So, we are now seeing another wave of immigration. I think we need to put this in context of history. This is simply natural evolution and time to figure out a way to work together, get along etc.... Don't blame all issues on immigration, this is a narrow myopic view.
