I live in London UK for the past 15 years and had the opportunity to move to Canada. I visited Toronto once and experienced enough to make the decision not to move. Climate was the top and lack of public transport compared to London was another big concern. Lack of fashion and laidback lifestyle was a concern too. One can fly to any European country easily, cheaper and quickly from uk but it’s not that’s not the same flying from Canada.

My step-sister lives in Whitehorse and claims to love it there, so much so that she barely comes back to Ontario. I guess it just depends on the person. As for me, after having lived overseas for a couple of years in the UK, I can honestly say that there's just no place like home. Canada, like any country, has its issues but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else permanently. :)

BCer here. I've lived in Victoria BC on Vancouver island most of my life. Personally I do not like flat landscapes. I feel happier living near the ocean and the mountains. I have never lived in any other province but I have lived in Dublin and London UK. This is home for me and I feel extremely lucky. The cost of living here is EXTREMELY expensive and that is by far the biggest problem because we just keep getting overrun with wealthy people from other places who generally suck.

Options are unlimited.\nBut then when you get to your 30s, you`ll want some measure of security and peace. Thats where Canada is the best option.\nBut as you reach late 40s,early 50s you will want to look at a place to retire to... thats where UK wins, it is the perfect place to retire\n\nSo in Summary, US is best for 20s. CA is best for 30s/40s. UK is best for 50s,60s.\nA colleague of mine tells me Australia is the perfect mix of all three. But I cant tell as I have not lived or been there.

It's expensive everywhere this days. Actually I live in UK but I'm from Poland. Petrol now cost £1.45 plus! My rent is £1000 for one bed flat. Then add bills £1250. Then add petrol and car insurance.. I'm fucked end of the month. Living on credit card. Im a nurse and I earn £1800. I use to pay £200 for my small rental room.. I get paid the same as 10 years ago but everything else has gin up double! And my lovely Poland.. Its the same. I use to be able to have an amazing holiday there for £200 now £500 is nothing.. Don't worry prices rocketing all over the world. Shame that we don't get paid more! Because I like my job.

Okay so I lived in the UK for 1 year under student visa. I came back to my country and it has been over a year since I am living in Bangladesh. Do I need to submit UK police clearance? Or police clearance from my home country is enough?

It's not just immigrants who leave Canada. My parents were born in Canada. My grandparents were born in Canada and six of my great-grandparents too. I was born in Toronto. Got my first degree from a Canadian university. Then a Master degree with a teaching assistantship at an American university. Then got a scholarship to study at a UK university. in the UK asked to conduct a graduate seminar for MSc students in quantitative analysis and computer applications at a major UK university. Then appointed senior research officer and leader of a research program in operational research. Then appointed principal scientist for a UK government agency. Eight years studying and working abroad in senior positions. Time to return to Canada. But could I get a job? I could not. \nAnd so I have a base in another Commonwealth country with a better climate, lower living costs, less tax and less government regulation. And from that base, I have worked in 20 countries all over Asia. With none of the bullshit I hear from the likes of Justin Trudeau. And none of the age discrimination common in Canada.

There's a lot of nuance that goes into this. I've lived in Canada, Japan, UAE, USA and UK. imo Canada is amazing for third world immigrants like my grandparents were. Middle class are best off in Western Europe. High earners are better off in Asia. Jobs also play a huge part in this. A teacher will earn more in Canada than UK. A tech worker will earn more in UK than Canada.

Blonde Russian gal is super cute. And yes taxes are excessive in Canada but you'll be surprised to know that taxes in Scandinavian countries are even higher. Invest if you wanna save on taxes. I've done that in the US, UK and pretty much everywhere I've lived till date.

My family came here from the UK in the 1920s. They were very poor there. When they got here they were able to get jobs and did a lot better for themselves. I am grateful that they stayed in Canada. The situation in England is so bad now I just can't imagine having to live there. I know Canada is not perfect and that there is a lot of work to do. I as a doctor immigrated to UK because i was forced to by the acts of government hospital and later a well known private hospital, which wouldn't pay on time and would not increase my monthly salary by a mere 25000 rupees and i was made to work odd hours, weekends, eid holidays. Within a year of my arrival i have been medically trained by the consultants here to perform procedures in hospital which i could never have imagined doing back home. I never wanted to leave home but was forced to by people who should have been managing high skilled resources for the betterment of pakistans future, but instead were found bettering there own lives.

Then cost of living in Canada ia almost 3 times that of India. You earn more and you spend more. Then most of people who now migrate from India to Canada spend almost 25 lakh in Canadian universities to migrate their. It’s a myth that Canada has universal healthcare. I lived there for 4 years because of my dad’s job and his employer had to pay for hospital treatment. Canada doesn’t have universal healthcare. The hospitals aren’t government owned but the government pays for the treatment. This favor is only extended to citizens. A true universal healthcare system is the UK. EVERYONE who lives in the UK legally is entitled to free NHS healthcare.

Moving to Vancouver was a great experience tbh, I'm of nigerian heritage but was born in Finchley, North London...\nCanadians are friendly and extremely welcoming ( Coming from the UK i found this so off-putting ) lol. Ironically its non-white Canadians i had funny experiences with.... from dating to renting its weird\n\n\nAsians under 27 always asking some crazy questions ( Are you an NBA player ) lol it's cute at first but after a while when little koreans walk up to me talking about ( You look like will smith ) it makes you think... To be fair these are not inherent negatives, But asian canadians alone did treat me weird i found, Indian girls i met all wanted to be with me but where also very ashamed to say so or let their family know, but thats a cultural thing so i understood.\n\n\n Of all the demographics White canadian and native men where the most welcoming and open to me, in my experience.. White women of-course where cool too but that does not really count, especially as a good looking black guy with an accent LOOL you know how that goes!! Needless to say, i did what she said and It worked the asian lady asked me to come get the keys later that day. Its just life, as a property owner they really just wanna size you up, not fair and kind of pathetic but its not inherently evil...

During past 18 years I have travelled lots in various countries and seen so many settled people who are origin from respective country or are settled from ages . But you also note that thay had gone through with same as beginner going through, or might b lot . I like your post, and doesn't notice any ego or proud in that . I like that . But what I mean to say is everyone from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh , before come in English country or in any country, are starting very big dreams and after step into new country they don't accept positive things and blames only those countries where thay have gone for higher education or for earning money. Still they stay there and says here is blot like india , dongle come here , or we have to do this type of job .They don't have servants there, they have to wash their clothes themselves, cook themselves and clean house themselves . I am not against of india but if you are staying in English country for 6 months, I request you please make video for how government works for their people, how smooth you can run your business without giving bribe to government officers , how police officers are doing their job and how pure is system . And please all these compare in India and suggest life is easy there or not . I love my country and during my 18 years in UK , I came back to India with my family to settle down the rest life but because of some government officers ( on each step asking bribe for business) , and not getting support from government, decided to go back to UK .I mean to say in English country there is value for poor person or for rich person. In india government hospital are free but look how they treat the patient. Please compair each sector and make video. If you do this would be very grateful. Dear video maker , it's nothing new in your life in Canada. Even people around the world including local people and local students are doing same . And it's nothing new to travel 2 or 3 hours in bus . People who stays in USA from ages are travelling same in car . Every students are expecting same life with them who are living in foreign from ages . Those people might had struggled more . Student has to understand before going on Student visa that with situations rather than keeping intrest in how to make money. 99 % students are interested in only money from day one .But foreign governments think that you have shown your financial documents, are enough for you to survive there even if you have no Job . And it's depends on the country, in which country you have gone and what is your qualification. If students go to UK or USA , thay might make little more money comparing to Canada, Australia or New Zealand. All students should understand before going to any country that only in USA AND UK country are the best to earn money and getting out money from there to india. Otherwise except these two countries none country is there in the world that you can make money there and send maximum money to india. Except these two countries other countries have made situation that whatever you earn there , you will have to spend in that country only. You can't save money to india for living good life in India. And it is good and thankful those countries where person after 18 years has go for job rather than being dependent on parents. And working in bakery with standing whole hours during job is not a new in those English country. They don't force to do that by law . This job is kind of that. Person has to understand job profile before joining the job . By English country law before you start job they will call you for induction and will explain what job you have to do . Life person is happy for that job , he / she can join the job . I think specially students has to look into positive things which in India students are not doing and thay have to do there in foreign countries. If you think this is struggling life then I can say this is not struggling life , students has to think first if they have gone for study or making money from first day. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia\nlaw over the entire world.\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen Muslims approach 15% of the\npopulation, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about\ntheir conditions.\n\n\n\n\n\nIn Paris, we are already seeing\ncar-burnings. there are dozens of flaws in Canada's immigration system. I am surprised to see that a person who has not spent a single minute in Canada enters the country as a permanent resident . has not paid a single dollar in taxes enters as a permanent resident. has not played his part in Canada's society and doesn't know fuck about Canada enters as a permanent resident of Canada. it does not surprise me to see people commenting about residents living in Canada do not speak English. \n \nI will give an example of the UK here which is far more developed than Canada and have very high standards. first of all, no one can enter the UK as a permanent resident of the UK. even if their partner is British, they will still come to the UK on a visa. depending on how much their British partner earns, it will take 5 to 10 years for them to settle in the UK, provided they pass the residency test in the UK(which Canada does not ask for whether you are in Canada applying for a PNP or PR or you come directly from another part of the world). a person who gets in the UK as a student spends minimum 7 years, if he is not married to a British /EU national to get a PR, most spend 10 for a UK PR(known as ILR in the UK) provided they pass the test for English and life in the UK (citizenship test). in return, the UK offers to its residents what no other nation offers. canada is giving away residencies as if its a leaflet. it's easier to get a Canadian residency than it is to extend a skilled visa in the UK. I have lived in Canada and felt that standard of living in canada is not very high as compared to the UK. so if Canada offers easy residency to people, it is only because they also know they are not giving away something precious :)

When I lived in UK I was speaking with my brother in my own language and in the bus I was told by some old men to speak in english and he was looking at us all the time like I was a criminal and I am European.Why nobody protect my rights?.

I m living in uk for 10yrs now but i misss India very badly every single day of my life. I love my country and proud Indian. You always have feeling of 2nd class citizens in abroad caz u r. Their culture, food, tradition, belief, child upbringing, husband wife bonding, relatives, friend buying meals, respect etc all very very different than us. And thats wht I love in India n not selfish attitude lonely western life.

I'm Lithuanian and I lived in UK. I left because of racism. It's nasty when it is targeted at you but I get it. In London I was doing parking enforcement and all parking officers knew that you have to be very cautious with people of certain nationalities. I was racially profiling myself. It is nasty but that is the reality - some people are more dangerous than others. And it hurts a lot when you are trying to be a good human and being racially profiled yourself.
