I was an international Student....15 years ago. I paid about 30k in tuition A YEAR.. I was NOT allowed to work off campus, i was allowed to work ON campus for a maximum of 10 hours A WEEK...in order for me to maintain my Visa status i had to maintain a GPA over 3.5 AND i had to be enrolled in an accredited institution. Our international student department had a quota of how many students they could recruit from every country... Rent was affordable, jobs were aplenty and when it came time for an Internship companies would come do hiring fairs and fight to get students to want to work for them. Now they get about 60k applicants a year that are willing to work for free and taking away from actual citizens.\nAfter 8 years of working and grinding and stressing i earned the right to get a Permanent residence...i had to commit 3 years out of 5 to stay here and work here and pay taxes for me to become a Canadian ...it was the proudest day of my life. I was filled with a sense of achievement that has been shat on by these students. \nIf you or anyone would actually like to talk about how it should be feel free to reach out.\nI will tell you this for free...if a Canadian Citizen did this in my country .. they'd be on the first flight home.

Im Bangladeshi-American, born in America. My parents were immigrants. I dont understand how its anyone's concern what language people speak with family and friends or if someone does not know English. In a free country, you can speak whatever language you want, wear your cultural clothing, and eat your culture's food. why does one need to adapt to the local area? The law doesnt oblige them... Also, these indians came legally no? In a democratic Canada that let them in... people voted for this directly or indirectly. Also, to your point, its the whites that are homeless and on drugs, how are indians to blame for white failure in Brampton? Indians have strong work and study ethic, so you should welcome that. Itll help your nation progress. These people are just racist. They dont want non-whites to become a majority. Thats all it comes down to.

Some of the stats cited here are straight up wrong or... creatively employed, and there's a lot of contradictory information and the typical conservative 'the sky is falling' sensationalism and misattribution. That said, the bas supposition isn't wrong. The bubble we've been sitting on for 20 or so years has completely burst. As someone born and raised in the Toronto area, it's impossible for me to afford to own a house or apartment here on a teacher's salary. Even rent pushes me to the limit unless I want to live in a... less than nice area. I'm living hand to mouth and enjoying the benefits of living in a 'developed' country less. Here's why:\n\n1. Wages aren't really even close to keeping up with the cost of living. The first tick upwards a bit. The second just keeps rising on the back of housing, food, amenities, and inflation: the four horsemen.\n\n2. Our grocery cabal ruthlessly raise prices whenever we look away, and their lobbyists are all ensconced within the leadership of our three major parties, particularly the Conservatives (so if anyone thinks that electing them will help, they're in for a nasty surprise).\n\n3. We're experiencing 'labour shrinkflation': increasing duties are downloaded onto workers and more is expected: more productivity, more availability (almost 24/7 in some jobs), and higher qualifications. Meanwhile, real wages are decreasing relative to living cost, more positions are 'contract', which is basically a way for employers to not have to give you benefits, and job security is tenuous for a lot of people.\n\n4. Houses are being bought by investors and not owners. Foreign entities are money laundering. The wealthy upper crust of high population countries are moving here and buying property because Canada is (still) more safe and stable and less repressive than their home countries in most cases. \n\n5. There's a cycle beginning: as people are squeezed and forced to spend more on 'needs', they spend less on eating out, entertainment, and other 'wants'. These are significant drivers of the service economy and they're being hit hard. So, what can they do? They can let go of workers or lower product costs to remain profitable, but they their quality declines and, in a market where people are pinching every penny and looking for quality for their dollar, they're less likely to go back. They can raise their prices, of course, but then they price people out completely and their profits still tank. I went to a decent steakhouse for my dad's 60th last week. I can't remember the last time that I went to one before that. \n\n6. Our politicians and news cycles focus on the most niche and irrelevant stuff because it'll stoke anger and get tongues wagging. This carbon thing is almost a non-issue, but our conservative leader is harping on about it like it's singlehandedly the death of the Canadian economy when it's a drop in the bucket. Trudeau focuses on 'equity' measures, hoping for a bit of cheap good press, while his efforts are, for the most part, just window dressing and the issues, while meaningful, are often not of paramount importance or even applicable to the vast majority of the people who elected him. Meanwhile, the middle class is pretty much evaporating as he speaks. The NDP keep talking about this in a pretty real way, for what it's worth, but Jagmeet Singh is giving off an increasing vibe of just being another fat cat politician beneath his rhetoric these days. Also, third-party trolls and screeching conservatives try to bury him on social media whenever he speaks... a lot more than other leaders as well, oddly. I wonder why? Oh yeah, the Greens exist and there's Quebec and the conspiracy theory party.\n\n\nUltimately, what we're experiencing is the revenge of the feudal system. Instead of paying rents to your lord and doing labour on the land for him whenever commanded to, you pay rent to your landlord now and go to work even when you're sick or when work hours are over because you have no union protection or are working 'on contract'. Unless we want to live in the armpit of nowhere, 95% of us are going to be wage slaves living hand-to-mouth, not owning our own property, and working to please our corporate overlords if current trends continue unchecked. While some of Canada's problems are unique, I fear that most aren't. As for me, I'm headed to the 'armpit of nowhere' where I can at least have a ghost of a chance of affording life.

To the point where sheets of plywood were you couldn't find them and they went up 100 times and price. Solo's hundreds of billions of dollars that the government's going to take back and taxes from us all draw the cost of housing through the roof. Instead of at the time redirecting half of those two it was 500 billion take a half of that investment in putting it into infrastructure technology innovation for industries. Our education systems from kindergarten through to postsecondary education and spending it on the Canadians that were here. We've turned our post-secondary institutions in Canada into diploma Mills where you know your VA and your you know postgraduate degrees or you know they're worthless. However the government and the education system grew into a very profitable industry grinding out worthless degree after worthless degree for foreign students who thought when they got these degrees with 50% of Canadians have. People have to realize that post-secondary education is a big business so they're going to sell you a dream that's going to cost you a lot of money what I suggest is when YouTubers want to do something on Canada do some proper research let people know that we really do have quality post-secondary education system but you have to look at when you graduate those jobs going to be there to pay that large salary does White collar jobs are disappearing almost gone I purchase an app for my company with small company about 10 employees this inexpensive app alone has taken my office staff from 7: to 2: I have a 10 Red seal tradesman tradeswomen these 10 highly skilled trades people earn between 125 and 145,000 a year in gross salary and I need five more of these highly skilled people and I can't find them cuz everybody's running in to get a useless postgraduate degree. I do find it slightly offensive that a lot of new immigrants new Canadians immigrate to Canada to purely exploit it for its wealth Canada should be looked at as a place to come put your hard work in the struggles the ups and downs? and look at it as your home instead of you know a piggy bank but people are going to leave and there's a long line up to get in I've seen in my 40 year career you know three major reps and three major downs. What's happening in Canada's economy and the economies around the world it's all the same the US economy's doing quite well and talked to last couple of weeks friends that have invested their and families have been there long-term at present the United States is building a war economy so there's money pouring into that effort it does have a booming you know Hi-Tech boom as well however the tech boom is offshore with American companies and it's taking place in a part of the world that no one would think it would take place so if your graduate in the tech industry go online do a little research you'll find out where it is the USA is building a huge chip factories I think they just poured in 70 or 80 billion dollars we're in a transitioning economy don't get discouraged put your head into it do your homework find out where these new jobs are coming from which jobs are not going to be here. Traditional White collar you know middle management upper management jobs they've been gone for years everyone's think of themselves as an independent contractor. Also if you're a millennial or was a gen z person there's going to be a massive transfer of wealth over the next 20 to 30 years as baby boomers simply die off and then you guys are going to inherit their money I live in any one of the g7 economies I just got to find your niece with your qualifications and get in there and innovate because there's not one g7 country that significantly doing better than anyone else another interesting part of the world is East Africa I'm retiring there in 5 years I've already done my homework I've already got partners I've already started to train up people there in East Africa Canada and those parts of the world they have East Africa's great basic infrastructure so now that they've got their first level base of infrastructure a second economy is built off at the service that basic infrastructure that basic infrastructure allows for that second layer a bigger layer of investment you know and that's where the real money is for mid-level investors and you know highly educated Young westerners have got 10 years into their respective careers and these are also very beautiful countries you know so you can if you got family in Canada family in Europe India Asia you know you can start building networks collaborate on projects you know in these you know emerging economies you know mid-level economies but that's you know a good 20-year grind to get good at your career and build your confidence to go into these places and get these things done also you know it's a great life adventure but never expect just because you have an advanced degree that the door even come knocking down your door to employ you if you're going to wait for the opportunity to come to you you're going to be waiting forever you got to take your advanced degrees get out there and hustle and work hard man Canada's doing fine about four or five years it's you know it's going to take off next level and it's going to boom for 40 years and it's never going to get any cheaper in g7 countries Amy's emerging economies his pockets around the world they're starting to come up to in the window to get into these emerging economies with your advanced degrees it's closing if you don't make it if you don't start looking at it in the next 5 years your degrees are going to be gone useless and if you do decide to put your career in these emerging economies like Asia South America Central America Africa do it for the right reasons not just for money we don't want to make the same mistakes as like the industrial Revolution where a few people get rich and the people in that country you know don't get anything have respect for these countries employ their people and you have to get into these places before all the big corporations get set up there cuz they're they're going there Canada's a great place as a great time free medical system and I urge anybody that's feeling down or depressed in Canada you know to go get some therapy join some clubs talk to people don't get down and mostly don't you know don't give up on yourself you guys made it through you know Elite post-secondary education system and if you can if you can do that I mean you can you can do anything a lot of hard work ahead truly best of luck to all you guys

Indian here, I applied for a Canada PR and just missed the PR score cut off by a few points, I am from one of the top universities in India, have a computer science bachelors and masters in economics, I am opening my own tech startup here and would have loved to open it in Canada and drive Canada's GDP. \n\nBut you know who get the highest score for PR? Low skilled people who do fake degrees(which are so easy to get it is lame, by the way I can also do it, but it will spoil by education reputation). The immigration system of Canada is a joke, It treats all degrees, jobs and universities as equal. Best of all I was offered to pay $20k by someone to get a Canadian PR. Again I can pay that much but do I want to immigrate to a country whose citizenship is being sold this cheap?\n\nTrust me when I say it Canada is getting the most average and at times the worst people from India. Indian government though should thank Canada for taking all these low skilled people from India that send Canadian Dollars back to India. They take away the middle class jobs, housing, etc in Canada and worse for Canada send back money to India leading to pressure on Canadian currency and reserves.\n\nThe simplest solution is to halt whatever nonsense immigration policy Canada has and only allow three kinds of immigration, people who secure high paying jobs in recognised companies, entrepreneurs that get funding from investors Canadian government recognises and count university scores only from top tier universities. Finally make it super easy for these high skilled people and difficult for anyone else.

So if those Indians start taking drugs and go homeless like those Canadian-born junkies you talked to, that would mean integration and adapting to the new home's culture?! I'm neither Indian nor Canadian-born but c'mon! What's wrong if those Indians listen to their parents who advised them to go to college, get a degree and and then get good job while those Canadian-born white parents told their kids do whatever that pleases you and become what makes you happy? And here they are: adicted and homeless living on taxes paid by hard working people like Indians. I'm Iranian-born but I saw a lot of hard working Indians and who cares if they want to live the way they want? And honestly it's none of anyone's business. It's a free country and you can't ask a Sikh to remove his turban or a hindu to stop going to his temple. Instead why not white people try to teach their kids the value of education and learning new skills so that they won't turn to junkies and homeless in their 60s relying on churches to feed them?!

Why would anyone want to live in Canada in the first place? Like what's there to do up there?

Since 2016, many International Students started coming to Canada and they moved to Brampton in particular so they wouldn't have to assimilate into Canadian way of life. I'm a Punjabi kid born and raised in Canada, who grew up in Brampton. Brampton has gone to the shits post 2017/2018 when all these International Students invaded Brampton. The older Punjabi families are moving out of Brampton and are moving to other towns, while some of them rent out their old homes in Brampton to International Students. Old Punjabis are suffering from this the most, maybe you should've interviewed Canadian born Punjabis or Punjabis who have been in Canada for dozens of years instead of interviewing some new comers and a couple crackheads. Not only are these new International Students fucking up the neighbourhoods we've been living in, they've ruined our reputation that our parent's/grandparent's generation worked their ass off to establish in Canada. Maybe Trudeau or whoever the fuck is in charge, should raise their standards of what kind of International Students can enter Canada and have a more difficult English proficiency test. Canada wants Internation Student money, but at what cost? The Sikh Gurdwara you showed actually feeds 100s of homeless people everyday. Gurdwaras all over Canada are contributing more to society than any other religious establishment including Churches. Sikh Gurdwaras give free food to anyone who visits the temple, even during corona virus they would give out packages of free food. I've seen many homeless people getting their food packed from Gurdwaras.

Where did the other Canadians come from? Europe. The original Canadians have all been disenfranchised from their land. If anyone should be complaining it is them. Just some knowledge here, Punjabi Indians, Hindus Indians, and Sikh Indians, are all Indians, the British Empire could decide to classify us as much as it wanted. I’m very disappointed by this video. I recently watched another one by True North about the poor state of the Canadian military and agreed with it 99%.\n\nBut this just seems like pandering to petty divisions and bigotry.\n\nI’m no SJW and agree there are legitimate reasons to question immigration and related policies. I don’t just expect we hold hands and all get along suddenly.\n\nBut honestly this wasn’t a fact based, objective analysis of the issues. It was pointing out statistics of demographic imbalances (with blatant graphics) and suggesting that on its own was bad. \n\nIt was asking non-East Indian people and East Indian people what they thought about these issues. The questions were loaded and leading and the answers were cherry picked, especially regarding the East Indian peoples’ responses.\n\nAs an attempt to get likes, attention and comments this, like countless divisive crap from both extremes, was a success. But from an objective, rational stand point this just comes across as being bigoted and ignorant.\n\nLike look at most of the comments. Typical ignorant and hateful spew like close the borders, screw Trudeau, they don’t work, etc. Anyone who studies history sees these usual, predictable slogans and laugh. Again look at the comments. How many are just emotional, knee jerk and don’t see the other side? Yaa…\n\nAnd I don’t like Trudeau, SJW BS, and have my own issues with immigration and cultural issues that have impacted my life. But it’s not black and white and your video and much of these comments aren’t the future I want for Canada either.

That is exactly what Trudeau wants, replace Canadians with those that feel beholden to Trudeau and will vote for him. So sad that city is in that state. Anyone who comes to Canada to live here needs to adapt to Canadian values, morals and way of life. If they do not want to they can go back to the country they came from. I live in small town Nova Scotia, town of 9000. Since the pandemic half of my neighbors are chinese now. Theres this shady new comer center downtown that's been there for about 5 years but really really doesnt want anyone to notice that they are there, very hush hush and they push put batches of a dozen frequently. Replacement theory isnt a theory.

The delivery guy made the mistake of not recording the customer as well! This type of behavior by anyone is unprofessional and should be reported to the place of the customer's employment. The customer also talks in an accent and not because hes mocking the indian accent but it seems he has a jamaican ,Haitian , or African accent. He calls the indian guy brown and thats clearly an indication of racism. Putting the food on the ground and mocking him to pick it up is an indication of superiority and he is trying to degrade the delivery person. this in itself is a form of harassment i can venture a guess as to what color the customer is! I see alot of negative comments against indians and a lack of support for indians and thats only because most other races simply dislike indians. If the delivery person was a black man or hispanic i bet there would be riots all over the place. The name of the game is..if you are too kind you will get stepped all over. IF you want to survive you need to be rowdy and wild like certain groups of people who are always on the daily news for more common reasons!

Why is the concept of multiculturalism so hard for Canadians to understand ?\nThis isn’t your country. In a multicultural society, there is not an official culture that every person must be a part of.\nThis is the result of it like it or not. This lack of access to health care is a new thing. I agree with your assessment. It now seems lonelier in Toronto. \n\nCanada used to be different because anyone with a good job could afford at least a condo, but life became unaffordable not just for immigrants, but for everyone unless you are in your 50s-60s and own a home. \n\nI have friends working double jobs supporting family back home in other countries, but for some of them the family back home sound like they are doing better than them and own a home. It’s like they are sacrificing their life to be in poverty or full of hardships and their families get to go out for dinners and drinks with friends. Not them. Not true for everyone, but for some yes and I worry about their own retirement because retirement in Canada without lots of savings means you might be homeless or forced to live with family even if it’s not your preference. \n\n without investments and savings, it will be hard to beat inflation. Getting into debt and getting bad credit can mean not getting an apartment. \n\nThe birth rate is going down because it is expensive to have kids and income isn’t enough to match with living costs. Getting help from government is really not something everyone gets access too. One person might get housing support, 10 others may get nothing. Different governments offer different things. Programs end and change often. \n\nIn Canada definitely bargain and shop around for good phone plans. one idea is to get a pay as you go until “Black Friday” then every year or two when your good offer expires there will be many others. Plus, if you live too far from your work you will have no time to socialize for most the week due to travel time. \n\nI think those who grew up in Toronto do have a certain culture of acceptance with others from many cultures, because your friends at school were from all over. But with new migrants sometimes it isn’t until the second generation that their social circles get diverse. This can be isolating and it’s even isolating as those from Toronto eventually leave dreaming of staying in one spot and not forced to move constantly when a landlord investor sells every house you move into. \n\n\nToronto really needs to protect affordability of housing for at least some housing in every section so that people can save money if they live in the city, and not have to leave their communities and be far from their friends and family. \n\notherwise eventually people get sick of the hustle and it’s too tiring to travel 1+ hrs each way to visit someone during Monday to Friday. \n\n20 years ago any professional could at least buy a condo. Not today. There is too much competition now and investors are allowed to buy up all the most affordable housing that once was a pathway to owning a home. \n\nRich policy makers got greedy and destroyed canada and hopefully diversity in leadership will help make Canada better. Until 2020 (pandemic), most lifelong Canadians would have proudly & quickly said Canada is a great place. For multiple generations (young & old). It still is in many ways. But like all countries, a bunch of things have made life more difficult lately. \n \nDuring the COVID lockdowns, many people went wild wanting to buy a house (urban & rural). Increasing demand and rising prices. Not long after, inflation caused mortgage rates especially to rise. Rent costs soared too. People interested in working in hospitals declined. Less doctors etc.. \n \nSimultaneously in Canada, the number of people coming by air, land and boat to claim asylum skyrocketed. For example, in 2023 alone, in just one region (Central Canada) around 400 people arrived per day (on average). Ditto for other populated provinces. Also the number of international students SKYROCKETED too. In 2023, averaging around 2,000 per day across Canada. Years 2021 and 2022 had high #s too. \n \nThe majority trying to migrate to Canada recently have been from South Asia. And it's become extremely obvious to Canadians. Even those that are very used to much diversity & many cultures. Plus neighborhoods now know that international students are using schooling as a 'back door' ticket to come to Canada for permanent residency. No one says it in public amongst strangers, but everyone knows because they've witnessed the extreme PR frenzy firsthand by now. To many Canadians it has felt like a tidal wave that has reached all cities and small towns, with a post secondary school. This extreme situation never existed prior to 4 years ago.\n \nHospitals have been hit with many wanting free healthcare. Less doctors/nurses etc., means greater waiting times. Plus a VERY SEVERE HOUSING CRISIS has occurred in many western countries including in Canada. In ways not seen in people's lifetimes. And if you do find a place to live its quite expensive. Including small basement rooms. \n \nNow westerners want the money greedy agents (pseudo smugglers) in other countries to stop marketing & LYING to their own people about access to PR or citizenship … or accommodation/jobs … being easy (to get). And for any greedy people living in western countries to be ashamed of themselves if they're hurting students. Anyone doing things to make $ off of people's PR desires. At best, there is a 25% chance of gaining PR (better odds if you are masters/medicine etc.). \n \nNot all players across the board have acted honestly over the years, i.e. contract marriages (IELTS spouse), anchor babies, fraud, false asylum claims. Canada has asked the India government to prevent “ghost consulting”. The new PRIVATE (non-public) colleges are being investigated (including looking for strong oversea ties). \n \nCanadians are meeting students who told Canada they have enough $, but it turns out they borrowed it (some borrowed it for the application process only). Canadian food banks and other CHARITY services have been recklessly advertised on YouTube (by India students in Indian language). Many transit services have launched stricter rules, i.e. lost monthly bus passes registered in your name are now never replaced (unlike before). \n \nThen this year throw in all the Palestinian vs Israeli angry protests happening regularly in cities. Plus the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortion mostly happening in Ontario and British Columbia. Plus the Canadian government also recently launched investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections. All stemming from Asia continent. Hate crimes have gone from rare to occasional (primarily South Asians against South Asians). \n \nCanadians are so so so so so not used to all this. So many, who have embraced multi-culturalism and immigration for decades are now VERY worried and fearful (due to all of the above). And all are praying it doesn't turn into great anger (like in the USA). \n \nCanadians want multi-culturism to succeed … and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Everyone I know is VERY happy with Canada Immigration's recent changes (reductions & investigations). If I was Prime Minister. I would Ban the immigrant Visa program for the next 10 years. I would deport anyone who has overstayed there welcome (those with expired visas) or are here (illegally) and now (not documented) \n\nThat alone would take many out of the shelters, homes, rentals, streets that should not be in the Country anymore. Leaving the resources and the people who work and volunteer for those resources to help the Canadian people (which would be the prime reason for this) Canadians first ! \n\nI would cut the Carbon Tax. Lower the Property Tax. Put a cap on all Strata fees. Lower the deficit. \n\nBuild more Hospitals and treatment centers. Put a ban on drugs and safe injections (as we know there is no such thing) \n\nMake it mandatory for those in need due to drug and mental issues (that have been diagnosed with such) to go to treatment centers (while building more centre's and hiring qualified professionals workers) to stop the crisis. \n\nChange laws on crimes and the time and penalty behind them. Doubling and tripling the time served and raising bail fees by 50% to keep folks that have criminal pasts off the streets <---- for first time offenders. \n\nFor those that have multiple offenses. Quadruple the jail times and put bail amounts 100% more then what they are now. \n\nGive those that kill, ra*e, torture, (and things along that nature (the death penalty) \n\nI would remove the mandate for Electric Vehicles for Canada. Where only 1 vehicle per manufacturer would have to be Electric. So if somebody wants it. It's there but the majority would be. Gas / Diesel etc. \n\nI would build more housing / schools / retirement homes / hospitals / recreation centre's / Library and walk in Clinics. \n\nI would write a law that the roads in Canada must be fixed properly. Not just patched. \n\nI would raise the taxes on Multi Million and Billion Corporations and those that make $400.000 or more to pay a higher tax. While those that make less than $400.000 get taxed less. \n\nI would Lower the provincial taxes by 2% effective immediately and the Minimum wage across all provinces would be $17.75 an hour for full time workers (over 32 hours per week) with .25 cent yearly increases until 2030 to be reassessed. \n\nI would give Tax cuts to those who want to open businesses and build and sell Canadian Products to make sure Canadian Goods are affordable to make. Still have a profit to slow down overseas production creating more Canadian jobs for Canadian People. \n\nEvery Worker that works 24 hours or more weekly is getting Benefits making it mandatory for all types of business owners to make benefits available to the workers and ensuring the plan covers a minimum of 50% throughout the entire year. \n\nI would raise the pension to those who have worked 25+ years in Canada and remain in Canada as a retiree for a minimum of 6 months of the year 5% \n\nShrinkflation will stop. Hello everyone, \n \nAs a 55 year old white Canadian male (born and raised), I wanted to take a moment to address some of the anti-immigration sentiment I've seen in the comments section. \n \nI just want to say how much I love and appreciate the diversity that immigrants bring to our country. I truly believe that Canada is made stronger by the contributions of new Canadians from all walks of life. \n \nOn a personal note, I am so grateful for the love and acceptance that my daughter's partner from India has brought into our family. Their relationship has taught me so much about different cultures and traditions. Love knows no boundaries and I am proud to support their relationship wholeheartedly. \n \nSo to anyone spreading hate or negativity towards immigrants, I urge you to open your heart and mind.
