What would make Canadian conservatives not be pro Trump? And/or not blame Trudeau and the center/left of center Canadian national government? Don’t they think that a Conservative PM would react the same way Trudeau is reacting?

He wants to be like Putin. He wants to rule the country as an authoritarian state with his oligarchs. He’s purging the institutions from those who oppose him, intimidating his allies. People have no real power, unless millions will unite and come out to protest, and if the protests will last for months. The press is being censored, no more uncomfortable press in the White House. The propaganda is working overtime. They are actively distorting reality to confuse people. There’s no way back if what’s left from American democracy won’t take actions now. They are moving very fast.

From the States, I absolutely voted against all of this. Its so tiresome and will take us decades to recover from his first term, who even knows about this one...We need a way to hold an emergency vote of no confidence.

It’s so funny the excuse that Trump uses to justify his actions against allies such as Canada when in reality there is far more drugs going from USA to Canada than there is the other way around. This has never been about drugs or anything other than a personal financial gain for Trump and his own buddies like Putin. We Canadians are suckers if we're giving billions more to Ukraine. Trudeau needs to go now. As for the tariff, I think we need to strike back hard, and continue the boycott of US goods. If we could, would be great do cut off all energy going to the States, but thanks to Trudeau, we don't have cross country pipelines to do that. BTW, Canada is not responsible for what comes into your country, we're responsible to keep things out we don't want in. That's the way these things are supposed to work, we're not East Berlin.

The US should focus on its western ocean to investigate all ships arriving, especially from China. Illegal drugs are likely buried in legitimate trade products and there are importers in the US who allow these drugs to make their way into the country.

Honestly, the way of saying that one people is more productive then the other is such an extreme oversimplification. I know this is a general term used by economists, but I can’t see the benefit. If Canada uses it's wisdom to choose a leader with an aptitude for economics, and behaves with the collectivistic humility we are known for, perhaps we will weather this storm and come out stronger on the other side. When making decisions from fear or anger, Canadians become individualistic and do our entire nation a major disservice by destroying any chance of using this crisis to propel our way out of the pit we are currently in. The difference between Canada and Spain is that they don’t have a sovereign currency. With debt dominated in the Euro they couldn’t as easily print their way out of the problem. I’d be willing to bet that the government inflates the dollar away before they allow a major housing crash or long term decline. Either way we’re cooked ?
