I used to love to go to NYC for Christmas. However, the last time i went Manhattan was not like it used to be. There are loads of ppl smoking weed, the train, which i used to like to ride, has lots of homeless and drunk ppl and was dirty. This reminded me when i used to go to the city as a boy in the 80s and 90s but was changed due to Gulliani and others. Last Christmas I continued my tradition to go to NY but i stayed in Buffalo. I used to love to drive to Ontario and it was SO easy through Detroit, Niagara, etc. But the thing NO ONE is talking about is the ability to get a BOAT or using a FERRY to cross the border all the time. It's so easy it's scary. ALSO there is an area of of the New York to Maine border that is mostly forest and with minimal roads/population. Our God only knows what is going on there. I have to say, that when I drove through this area in 2013 as a woman with her dog, I was afraid. I don't scare easily, and I trust my instincts. Something's got to change.
