I came to Canada in 1989 with my twin sister. I haven't left Canada ever since I came in. My twin sister left Canada for good in 2023. I did not come to Canada because I needed more money. I came to Canada because I did not have a country. Canada became my home country but the crazy thing is I don't recognize the Canada I knew over the years. Very true, I have only been here for few years and noticed it. Canada immigrants spin the wheel and big bosses just sit back make rules and live on the commission. Thank you so much for this. In spite of being born in Ontario, I learned a lot about Canada! My entire family was born and grew up either in Toronto or in the then-small towns closeby. My father moved us to upstate NY in 1957 when I was 9 years old, me kicking and screaming all the way. I was devastated to be leaving Canada, and now at 77, I've decided this life-long yearning to return to my birthplace has to become reality. I've started the process, hoping I may gain some points because I'm a former citizen :) . I still have lots of family in several provinces; people I haven't seen since we were children, and some of us are great-grandparents now. So, to any immigrants reading this - you are very welcome here! Also I am shocked at how many people are offended by immigrants speaking in their native languages - that is also appalling, in my opinion. But if your asylum claim has been rejected or if you've overstayed your visa (which accounts for many), then deportation is fair. But we need a grand compromise. A path to citizenship for Dreamers and people who are under special arrangements (again, like the Haitians), deportations for most others, with a new visa regime for people who have been working in parts of the economy that - to be blunt - Americans won't.\n\nAlso, most of the people here without proper documents are Mexican. And most came through Mexico. AMLO let that happen. Sheinbaum is going to need to address that. Many Mexicans are also greatly unhappy with what's been going on for the last few years.

And this is what we call, a ladder puller. Now that she was able to become a citizen, rather than helping her family members to get their legal status, which can be difficult, tedious and very expensive, she could care less if the lives they have already spent decades on building here are completely destroyed. In fact she voted for someone who is going to make it harder if not impossible for them to come back the right way in the first place. Is she not thinking? If they get deported, that is going into immigration records and when that gets pulled up when they apply to come back it will likely cause any legally efforts to return to be rejected. And who knows how long that will stay in their system? Could be years, could be permanent. Biden’s idea to help those undocumented who are married to citizens to be able to apply and get a temporary visa to stay here while they wait so that families wouldn’t have to be broken up by having the applicant return to their country of origin. That was not just a great idea from a humanitarian point, but they could apply for a job that wasn’t going to take advantage of them by paying below minimum wage, with no rights if they are injured. That could help bring local wages up. They would start contributing back by paying their fair share of taxes, and do on. Republicans in red states stopped it though and are suing the Biden administration for trying to do what? Help people and fix some of the issues that our broken immigration system has caused? \nSorry lady, but you earned your family’s ire and whatever treatment you get from the administration you voted for.

Canada is over-regulated and over-taxed, and turns increasingly to the public sector to perform essential services, which greatly inflates the price of those services. A sort of positive feedback look has begun where any political party who creates public sector positions and promises to maintain them gains the allegiance of a powerful unionized voter block, essentially for life. But in order to pay the workers they need to raise taxes, which negatively impacts private sector growth, investment, and profitability. It is not possible to sustain the growing public sector at the expense of a dwindling private sector for long. Scaling back the public sector payroll is difficult, however, because it's just not as easy as laying people off due to their powerful unions, and the fact that this would be seen as a signal of a weakening economy, further scaring off potential investors. I would propose that no new public sector positions be created without eliminating old ones (essentially halting spending and taxation increases without creating a massive unemployment problem) until the year 2050 so that the balance between public and private sectors can re-establish itself.

Then they say they are taking all the jobs.. the jobs have always been here but people that are citizens are too lazy to go get jobs or keep jobs ( not all citizens) but the ones that are complaining immigrants usually come from villages without any media or drugs or gangs ect. They simply come here for better opportunities or for jobs. They come to work not to freakin take your jobs… this country everyone is a damn immigrant this country was taken from the natives taken with violence by killing them , rapi!’ Them. Ive lived in Winnipeg most my life. Vancouver for a time. It was too tough in vancouver but winnipeg has been very chill. Also as a diabetic I'm greatful for healthcare I only pay for around 20% of my meds. We've talked about moving somewhere where rent is cheaper, meds are cheap and groceries are affordable. But I've never found such place...I stay because the people here are amazingly empathetic, yet very strong. Its sad to have a liberal government that have conservative policies for the rich. Itd be nice to vote NDP for something different.
