I have seen no evidence that a person who is delsional is not suffering a mental illness. I have seen it expressed legally but not medically. And in this type of case it requires a review of the medical side of things before issuing any legal determination. Testimony to Congress proved that the studies did not include all the relevant data to support their cause. So the previous court ruling could be overturned and will be at some point. I would not serve under a transgender person in the military. I would exit the military. I do not think delusional people should be allowed to handle firearms.

I'm from Tanzania but my opinion America during the biden administration was a joke to the world and lost the common sense on the issue of transgender. Thank God for trump, Americans are lucky to have trump.

If anyone has seen a trans person who is going through any psychological stress or issues, you know that they can be some of the most viable and erratic people. You certainly would not want to give them an M4 rifle or anything of the sort. the fact is, they were given a slew of dangerous chemicals to try and let their bodies mimic being another gender. But they never were another gender and their psyche starts to scream out against themselves.

Why are women's rights never part of this discussion. Do these men who pretend to be women use separate facilities or are women forced to accommodate them in what should be women-only spaces just to name one important issue.

Transgenders qualification are not the issue, society is. I don't see Trump views are going to change any time soon. Why would you stay where you're not wanted? If the Military doesn't want you and your talents, find another career where you will be TRULY VALUED.

This just reminded me of our fellow African Americans, Native Americans, and every other minority that's had to go through these kinds of ordeal, let it either be in the military, sports, and many other areas, because THEY WERE DIFFERENT in the past and currently. I was in the Navy 1976-1996. I came in when women were looked down on by sailors. They had their reasons, but things changed in the 80s. Women served on ships, filled most rates, flew planes, captained commands on shore and at sea (surface and sub). There were issues with gays, and now there's this. I have always thought that as long as one can do the job and not discredit the Navy, have at it and I'm glad to serve with you. USN / USNR E-8 retired

The public is concerned about the price of groceries, finding a job, violence, crimes. Yet CNN leads the way, wasting time and money talking to a person who represents less than a third of 1% of our population. The emotional/gender issues and feelings - even of a commander - in the military are not our top priority. That man needs to be talking to a therapist about his gender dysphoria and emotional issues... because the top priority for persons serving in the military OUGHT TO BE NATIONAL DEFENSE - NOT GENDER ISSUES.

Transgender persons have the problem of making their gender issues a priority. When I was in the US Army, national defense- and not personal issues or emotions- were the priority.

Last I knew from being a mental health clinician for 40 years Body Dysmorphia is still termed a mental illness not to mention the hormone med side effects negatively impacting physical and mental status. So subject these Transgenders to testing particular to these issues and if that shows fitness look at it on a case by case situation!

I cannot comprehend how this is even an issue. This woman met all requirements and it sounds like she surpassed those requirements. What the hell else matters?? How is her gender identity or sexual orientation relevant? Unreal. This woman has repeatedly put her life on the line for people who now want to ban her from service. That is shameful.

What difference does it make? Both men AND women serve. What about the cost of living and important issues that people actually care about?

I mean being trans is being confused and not accepting yourself for who you are but in your free time then ya it should be no issue on your free time off base being military there's lots to take in but feelings of others wanting to be something other then what they are is a nothing thing

I served for 6 years in the Air Force and I lean mostly right on transgender issues (keep biological men out of female sports, there are only 2 genders, etc), but I'm hard pressed to understand why people who are trans can't serve their county - I don't see reasonable justification for that. It doesn't make sense.

I guarantee most people have met a transgender and didn't even know it. I took a course at work and both instructors had transition from female to male. You would never know unless they told you. Im not sure why people want to fight people being who they want to be. They don't impact anyone eles and just want to live their lives. Stupid how Republicans have made this an issue. What about guns that are killing people every day?? What a waste of time going after trans people like they are killing people or something.

As a combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, multiple times, I completely agree with the president’s anti-trans policy in the military. Soldiers have a hard enough job as it is much less stacking on some DEI nonsense. That’s only gonna take time away from their training and ultimately DEI is going to 100% negatively affect the mission and their safety. Of personally over a 10 year period served with a couple gay and lesbian Service members and never once was what they did in the privacy of their own bedroom ever an issue or counter to the mission but this new age woke DEI nonsense is completely counterproductive, dangerous, And disrespectful to the non-DEI service members. The simple act of picking an unqualified, military leader, who’s responsible for the care and lives solely on the gender, ethnicity, religion, or pronoun, and not on merit, experience, competency, or any of the other real requirements for a military leader is literally the most irresponsible, dangerous, and disrespectful thing you can do to the men and women who have literally dedicated their life for years in service of our country! There’s absolutely no excuse on this planet that would make it ok. Being a service member in combat is already the most stressful job on the planet, but to make them take their focus off of the immediate threat to focus on political correctness or someone’s magical mystery pronoun while trying to prioritize and mitigate threats and combat is the most asinine and literally dangerous Nonsense I’ve ever heard!??????

I think the trans issue has a lot of complications that really don't need to play out in the military. I accept the body God gave me and I can't imagine what people go through who can't. It's concerning though that while they're fighting their internal fights it may project on to others. Just because this one man didn't doesnt mean everyone is like him. Should be a case by case basis and not a blanket policy.

the fact is that those who transition have to take hormonal treatments for the rest of their life. regardless of the qualities someone who is trans may have placing them in military units create problems. in addition there is the fact that transitioning may have other long term health effects that would raise the cost of medical benefits for our soldiers and veterans. this is not the simple issue of discrimination based on sexual identity that CNN wants to portray it as. whether we have a tax based economy or a tariff economy in the future up until now it is the American taxpayer that has had to fund military expenses including health care for our soldiers and veterans.

They spend 4 years in the military changing gender on tax payers dime. Out of the whole 4 years they may be deployable for about 6 months and that ain't all at the same time. If i was still in the military I'm sorry but no matter how hard i tried i would not be able to take a biological male posing as a female serious. Thank god the unit i was in would never have had that issue, it couldn't happen. And forget about a biological female posing as a male, 98.9% of them couldn't make it, not without lowering standards, sorry it's just a fact, reality does not care about feelings

I think the provision for intersex children should be an honorable and supportive and compassionate one. This is an individual issue not a generalized one.

In many situations, an independent duty corpsman on a Navy Frigate, Destoyer, Curiser while on deployment isn't equipped to be able to successfully handle the medical issues both physically and mentally that could arise because a confused individual wants to live in a fantasy world.

This can't even be an issue, this is about the morale and readiness and effectiveness of our military nobody wants to join the military to be labeled gay. It's pretty simple

There is nothing about not having trans in military not having value. The Navy trans as a woman is not a woman so when did he/she transition, Before or after. She can look female but he is a he with all the advantages of muscle mass. Since he actually passed the physical stuff indicates the maleness prior to transition. I’d like to see the requirements if mental fitness before the transition and after. Beside getting breasts did he go all the way with removing male organs? If not then it’s more a dress up issue. Being in the military is probably not really a good place for trans. Is he now a lesbian as acting a woman? So many questions with few answers.
