I agree, if you don't like it here, you should leave. However, the challenges we face in Canada are not unique to our country. It's easy to believe the grass is greener elsewhere, but I'm willing to accept both the good and the bad, and I haven't lost hope that we can fix Canada from within. Of course, this requires believing that change is possible and being willing to contribute in any way you can. Frankly, I find your attitude defeatist. You're happy to enjoy the good times, but as soon as things get rough, you're ready to leave. It makes me wonder if our current situation isn't partly due to people's unwillingness to do more than complain and run away when things get tough.

I'm certain nobody will agree with me - but why is part of the problem in the west; people get their reality from the MSM - but if I were you I would go back to Russia. The East is the future; the west is heading straight off a cliff. The only way IMO that you can be reasonably safe from that anywhere in the west is if you are completely self sufficient - and debt free - living MILES from other people - or in a likeminded community - where you are prepared to defend yourself from whats coming. I am in such a situation in NZ and even I am ready to bolt; in my case either to a small south pacific island or maybe Thailand - who are joining BRICS and therefore completely isolated from the impending western economic/social disaster. Being in Russia of course means the whole of Asia is easily open to you as well - but makes sense also because you have a history there. I would love to live in Russia - it is now normal - the people HAVE A SAY in everything - compared to the abnormal west which is now the new Soviet Union. Sad but undenyable - if you face facts.

What is so crazy if you have VPN and a couple of minor technologies you can watch social media from around the world, using easy technology you can hear and see what people are saying, thinking and doing all over the world. Sorry to say that but Indians are very corrupt, they are trying to cheat any system or any rule. They are the ones behind all kinds of illegal implementations on: Immigration(selling jobs which is illegal), banking system(forging income documents to get high Mortgages from banks), cheating on documents(like fake school letter of acceptances or fake banking statements) and exams(offering to enter exams on behalf of others with a charge). These are not general considerations, I personally am in the know of all these examples myself and I am hearing many others. \nAdditionally they are disrupting the labor market by lowering life standards. To be specific, there are many indians, living 10-20 people in the same home, lowering their life costs, then going to businesses offering for a much lower salaries, hourly wages since their living costs are considerably low. This is not a fair competition, you can not expect people to live in barracks, just to be able to compete. this is disrupting social life.\nThe pooping and these kinds of senitary examples are just the icing on the cake. \n\nFinally, the indian community are not trying to come in to Canada and be a part of the community and the system, instead they are trying to turn this country into India, which they are running from in the first place. \n\nCanadians are nice yes, but any sound person should react accordingly if their kindness is abused. \nOfficial are needed to take actions on this, since I don't expect the Indian comm unity to behave.

Leaving may solve your problems but only for very short time, because whatever place you end up in, it may be no better, and good deal worse, since you won't be a citizen there. If I didn't have family and other obligations in Ontario I would have left a long time ago and never returned. My biggest issue is that the culture as eroded so much that there is no sense of community anymore. Everyone seems to be competing with each other at all times. Trying to make friends in North America as a whole is brutal. Every time I go abroad it is very refreshing to take part in cultures where people actually look out for one another. When I come back to Canada I always feel starved of what is important in life.

I love it how the video conveniently omits the reason why the housing supply is so inadequately low in Canada - real-estate developers and rental agencies lobbying all levels of government to keep zoning laws draconian and to make new construction increadibly difficult. For example, an enormous proportion of Toronto's urban area is still zoned exclusively for single-family housing. The landlords, who are currently extracting record profits from regular people with no sign of decline, are more than happy to shift the blame towards immigrants, and it saddens me to see that respectable media outlets like the Guardian are becoming a part of it.

I can recommend you to reside in one of EU countries. It is far more convenient and proper to maintain the living circumstances and standards. A part of the domestic inhabitants and people have also abandoned Canada due to the cost of living, paying substantial amount of taxes and healthcare segment. Those are the largest complexities of the country. It stems from these reasons in order to leave Canada. Those indigenious inhabitants of Canada commonly choose to relocate in UK, Germany and France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria and Spain. A vast change eventuates in the whole world with the new immigration waves. The living conditions are modifying, the orders are also reshaping and the paradigms are altering. It comprises a large transformation within this process.

Did you vote for the radical Liberals-NDP? If so, you are part of the problem. I came back to Canada in 2022 after 20 years living abroad, and it's been a mixed bag. Getting a good job is extremely difficult as international experience is rarely factored into potential employers decisions to hire - even if the companies you've worked for are Fortune 500. If you didn't work for that company in Canada, good luck getting the same position. You'll be working in a junior position despite your previous job title. My wife is currently going through this. She went from Project Manager at one for largest companies in the world to junior developer at a small company. Pay is.......not great.\n\nI've been lucky with having a lot of support of family and friends. A lot of the clients I've started to work with in my profession came through people I know. I never would have got these opportunities on my own in that amount of time. It would have taken years. Nepotism played a big part.\n\nTo come to Canada, and start a new life without a solid support system would be absolutely brutal right now. I got really lucky, but my situation isn't normal. I wouldn't recommend anyone (Canadian or immigrant) to come back right now if they're been gone for a long time. The rent alone is enough to turn anyone away.

From Poland. Arrived yo Canada at the end of 2020. I am nearing my 4th year here, in a small village. I arrived with my 6-year-old daughter to begin my writing career. Now, 40% of my daughter's childhood has been spent here and I I go to court soon to fight for my child to be returned home to me. After nearly one year- a year of financial hardship because I have to travel without a driver's license and without a group of friends to drive me- I have my very first hearing with a judge in Youth Court in a matter that has no foundation to begin with, follows no rule of law, and acts arbitrarily. My child whom I homeschooled to the praise of the provincial ministry of education and was following a classical liberal arts education path that had her outpacing students in the province was entrusted to the care of a Child Services company (that has a record of placements that have resulted in child murders). My child's life has been irrevocably upset to say the least. NO ONE LEAVING CANADA GIVES THIS STORY AS A RESON FOR QUITTING THIS COUNTRY. I guess no Canadians care about their children like I do my precious gift from God. True, O come from the former Soviet Union where Marshal Law (Emergency Measures Act) were commonplace. I lived through two in Canada in 4 years: one Federal, and one through Provincial Youth Court where I await my turn to see a judge after my daughter was removed from my care. People do not know they have no biological ownership of their children, because I guess few Canadians value their children to care about their own laws. But these laws also apply to immigrants too. What money was taken from me during the move and resettlement, the government takes by creating more expenses for me than I could ever imagine or budget for. Emotionally, I am a wreck. Rather than commencing my writing career, I have been seeking low-income lawyers, reading the provincial law on Youth Protection, filing complaints within a circular system (the watchdog is part of the system not outside of it) and preparing all evidence to prove I have done nothing wrong [just like in communist rule]. Have you ever given any thought to the difficulties in proving your innocence? \nNO ONESEEMS AWARE OF THIS DETERENT TO BRINGING CHILDREN TO CANADA. NO ONE. IT IS THE ONLY ONE I COULD NOT PLAN FOR. All other complaints like the economy, or the weather, or inflation I have survived. But taking away my child, my reason to settle in Canada for a life of freedom for her, my legacy, was unthinkable. People ask me in this small village where is my daughter. Their rosy cheeks become snow white when I tell them. Canadians here are unaware and scared like cattle in a thunder storm. Many are addicted to welfare payments, cannabis, prescription drugs, and television. They all seem to be waiting in a pen of fear. I am stuck here now, with little financial resource to fight for my child's life. It is unfortunate that no one will read my comment because it is an inscrutable wall of text or too frightening. Unless someone reads it, no help will come for my daughter. (Because she is a dual citizen, the local Polish Ambassador will not step in - another drawback for having a Canadian passport). I left Canada in the late 1990s. I moved back in 2018 (more than 20 years abroad)... and I've regretted it every day since. I do NOT hate Canada at all. Like you said, it is a great place to live, but... once you see how other people live in other parts of the world you see what's missing in Canada. It's the basics.. access to medical care... education... and so on. It used to be amazing in Canada, now it's broken ? My wife and I talk about relocating back overseas all the time. Moving abroad with kids is hard, but we will eventually do it once all the bits line up :-)

Appreciate the balanced assessment .. As a Saskatchewanian myself, I can relate - but man!! what's with the negative-only comments? Because there is too much immigration in a short period of time, the country is overwhelmed and there is not enough housing, healthcare, and infrastructure to accommodate for the rapid increase in population. Housing costs have gone up way too much, partly because the immigration is much higher than the rate at which new homes are being built. So people are not anti-immigration, but they want the immigration to be sustainable.

Damn...I've been considering a move to Canada from London UK (part of the reason why I found your channel). I've been hearing so many people are leaving because it's not the same as it used to be. It's sad to hear because Canada felt like one of the really good places left to start a life in.

It's incredible how people around the world, seem to forget that most countries had shut down for two years during the pandemic, costing countries billions, the issue is the grocery chains, the ongoing confict with Ukraine and Russia, among other countries, crime has spiked, I put part of the blame on the legal system, I do hope you will stay in Canada, beats the USA, which is headed into unknown direction, Canada has very little earthquakes, volcano eruptions, typhoon, hurricanes, although Canada has had the coldest winter on the planet, we as Canadians are in most part caring countries, I also put the blame on the premiers taking money from the federal government and investing in cons, our prime minister has faults, he takes the blame for most issues in Canada, but, he better than the alternative, not sure which country you are thinking about moving to, but take in consideration of the pros and cons of your potential move, the cost of living, health care, job, vehicles, rent, wage, best of luck in your future endeavours

Please calm down people , everything will be fine. Affordability is problem for everyone, also for students, they paid 3* more in fees (or invested in a way) compared to domestic students (facts) . I grew up in the country since I was born (I turn 30 next year), and it's the most beautiful place I've ever seen. But I want to leave, because (as an employed electrical engineer), I will never be able to afford a house or a family. Canada has to start recognising degrees from other countries. Here in B.C. we have emergency rooms closing overnight due to lack of staffing. We need doctors and nurses yet the barriers for those immigrating to get their degrees recognised mean many never qualify.\n\nCanada also needs to look at who we are admitting in and to terminate the family unification policy. When immigration was helping the country grow there was a different demographic coming in. Often it was single men or young married couples. As they came by themselves they assimilated into the mosiac of the country. When you concentrate on immigrants from one country instead of assimilating they setup ethnic communities. \n\nLook into what study groups have said that is contributing to gang violence. It's ethnic groups that have the grandparents, parents and grand kids all living in one home. The grandparents want the grand kids to adhere to their native culture. Unfortunately by time you get to the grand kids they are Canadian. They speak English/French depending where they live with little interest in speaking their ethnic language. There is cultural conflict within the home hence street life is where they find love and caring.\n\nSome cultures are not as community minded. Part of the high cost of renting/housing is based on greed not need. In my own community I know of apartment units now renting at 2,500 - 4,000/month owned by the same people that even five years back you could have rented for 500 - 800. There is no justification for that percentage of increase other than greed.\n\nJob opportunities. Summer employment for school kids is going down yearly. You see local business that use to hire students over the summer month claiming they can't find any workers. They bring in TFW yet Canadian students can't find work. You can tell the owners nationality of a business by the nationality of the workforce. A local store bought by a east Indian two years ago which at the time had a diverse workforce is now entirely staffed by east Indians. Yet who screams racist? \n\nCanada definitely needs to reconsider its immigration policy and bring in major changes.

This should not be right because why are we not OK? Ridiculous, 2nd biggest country in the fkin world and it has population problems. Is it the immigrants' fault? Or something else behind this? I'm an immigrant from Vietnam. Am I part of the problem? I've worked my ass off in this country, paid insane amounts of taxes. Do I not deserve a place? I came here alone, not with a village. But some people are doing that and causing major damage. And I get bunched up with them and have to suffer the problems I did not cause.

I’m an immigrant we came in 1982 , but the problem now is a lot of people here don’t want to integrate with Canadian society and want instead bring their own beliefs. Part of being an immigrant is to assimilate into the culture and not be an outsider. To me Canada is home , this is where I met my wife and my children are born. But you have to work for it because nothing is free. The key word is to become one of us , to become Canadian ??

Why politicians say we need more immigrants. When there are far more people already in big cities like Toronto and Vancouver. I would say enough is enough just limit any new immigrants to big cities and send to other parts of Canada.

The problem is not just the tenants. Part of the problem is creation of a speculative housing market where housing a basic human need is primarily constructed for stock market like trading speculation rather than providing shelter for people. If you already own a house or condo that you are already living in why should you be allowed to personally buy multiple housing properties. My opinion is that if you are not a real estate developer or the government you should be limited to owning only one extra real estate property with the only extra exception being a recreational cottage

People complain about doctors leaving to the States for more money. But reality is, there is no job opening for new specialists finishing up fellowship. So they are pushed around diff hospital as part timer and they end up leaving. Family doctors are also pushed to become a hospitalists or to just become surgery assistant to avoid paperworks and fees that follow being family doctors. Our healthcare is becoming useless because our government is not grasping the reality.\n\nWe need more highways, a real metro system for to support its growing population with integrated infrastructure. If we need to construct more housing, make it possible for architects to build faster and make it easier to become an architect here too. What is wrong with our roads? Gardiner is being fixed and I hope not for 10years. \n\nThis government legalized drugs for taxation, but cannot control harder drugs invading our cities. Our parks are filled with needles...\n\nNow I am in the process of dual citizenship to move out while I retire. Because I dont want to be sick and wait for 10-20hours in the ER.

Why is everyone moving to Toronto. Canada is not Toronto. There are many places in Canada that needs to be developed. Why not develop other places. Toronto is saturated with people. Our resources are depleted. Rents are very high. New immigrants should go live in other parts of Canada. Start communities and businesses in other areas. All new immigrants cannot settle in Toronto. We need the rest of Canada to be developed.

I've never been conservative or anti-immigration, but the situation is getting out of control. Canada has always been a country of immigrants, but in my country, Poland, that hasn't traditionally been the case. In recent years, the demographic landscape has changed significantly, and it's not just about our Ukrainian neighbors—over a million have arrived since the war. We're also seeing an influx of people from developing countries, many of whom come under false pretenses, enroll in private universities, or attempt to cross our borders illegally to reach Germany. Right now, we're at a loss, and the most frustrating part is that while we need skilled immigrants, we're instead getting unskilled individuals who don't even make an effort to learn the language. This isn't sustainable.

stop buying property just to rent it out maybe get a real job instead of taking over properties that you dont intend to live in making the housing crisis even worse. same goes for the people who loaned out to make a bunch of apartments airbnb. you aren't providing anything, your taking something thats available off the market and then repackaging it like its helpful. its really a big part of why housing is so expensive no one wants to work they just want to be landlords.

Why are rents so high? This is a part of it. All landlords must include the risk of not getting paid for years. All renters pay for people like this. Leftist policies hurt everyone.
