I spent years learning German, traveled throughout Germany, took courses in Germany to get up to between the B1/2 level, have a college degree, look German, German heritage… and was consistently treated like I didn’t belong and shouldn’t stay. With the skills and certifications I’ll have at the end of my graduate education, I will be able to make 2-3x as much in my home country as I could in Germany with fewer taxes and lower home prices. Why would anyone other than a low-skilled worker with few options ever want to move to Germany? The US, Canada, the UK, and even France are far better destinations for skilled workers, and yet the German bureaucracy still acts like every Italian and Turk has nothing better to do than learn German and work at a VW factory in Stuttgart.\n\nReally, Germany and the Germans just don’t get it, and at this point I doubt they ever will. They didn’t even want the Russlanddeutsch back after the end of the Cold War.

Brampton is pure chaos not to be racist. People think it's multicultural but 80% of the residents are South Asian. Not very multicultural if you ask me. Brampton is not faring so well compared to other cities in the GTA such as Mississauga and Toronto. This sudden spike in Indian immigrants isn't just in Brampton but basically everywhere in Southern Ontario. Brampton just so happens to be where most South Asian individuals reside. These recent 20 years is where Canada saw much more immigrants originating from South Asia and the Caribbean. This same issue took place more than a century ago when Chinese immigrants migrated to Canada. Eventually, people will get used to the Indian population and it shouldn't be looked down upon. So sorry for this essay of mine, couldn't shorten my thoughts :)

This is a reaction to the potential loss of their student visas, not some jumping the queue scheme. The changes in the student visa system has created this temporary panic. A student who is in second or third year has already spent a lot of money to get an education and then lose that money and not have a degree. The years and money would be lost, then they would have to go through the process again in other country has caused this. Many of these student will remain as students and get their degrees and go home as they have in the past. Our university have had foreign students forever and it has worked. I too am an immigrant, but I feel like the country is being overtaken by India. There's nothing wrong with immigration if controlled properly, bud sadly this is not the case with the Canadian government, and it is getting out of control. I live in a beach town in Ontario that up until last year was a nice place to live. Now when you go to the beach it is 90% Indians, and they are buying up all the businesses to cater to their own kind and if you aren't Indian, you stand out like a sore thumb!. Sadly, having lived in Brampton since the late 60s, I have seen it happen and I feel that it is becoming another Brampton! I have a relative that lives in Brampton and is very experienced in the medical field, but cannot get a job because they don't speek Hindi. Come on people! If you can't speak english you shouldn't be allowed into the country!

Shame on the Canadian government! :(( That Mexicans don't need a visa to enter Canada is outrageous and it shouldn't be. Throughout the years it is been very difficult to get a visa to visit canada and also to migrate there legally. Even many family members of new Canadians have gotten their tourist visas to come to Canada denied over and over again. But now is just a disproportionated disaster. Backdoor immigration is detrimental to the country. All temporary visitors shouldn't be allowed to stay on. International students shouldn't be allowed to bring in family, buy property or remain to work. And work while studying should be restricted.

Pls stops Indians from entering your country. I think it's good for both the countries. But you should make rules to prevent them from getting job (which helps your citizens)....but the students,who only wants to study, doors shouldn't shut for them. It should be a complete stop! although I do find it a little ironic that we take the land from the Indians (natives) and a different kind of Indian takes the land from us, so I really doubt the natives are doing anything but laughing right now and maybe crying over population increase and rights being ignored due to population growth. How do they have time to protest? Shouldn't they be studying or working? I wish I had time to protest about all the things that are not right, but I have to work to pay my bills. I'm Canadian born I've lived here for 44 years and I have not had time to protest not one day of my life. Just after reading comments from some Germans here, it really feels like that racism, chauvinism and zero-sum thinking are just a part of their mentality. They seem to believe that foreigners working in their country shouldn't have any voice, because having independent thinking or claiming some rights means abruptly that you aren't integrated.\n\nMany of them feel like foreign workers shouldn't even be given opportunity to come to Germany in the first place, because supposedly average German doesn't benefit from having larger workforce or higher productivity.. which is pure economic and sociological non-sense ?\n\nTight housing market plays now against immigration narrative, but that's caused also by inferior construction speeds, high interest rate, higher cost of materials and by the labor shortage.

I don't hate international students, and I understand that they came here with hopes for a brighter future. But... evidently, we have to face the fact that this is not the same Canada that it was 10 or 5 years ago. This Canada has fallen so bad it cannot even sustain its own citizens, let alone non-citizens. It's tough luck, but they shouldn't have chosen Canada, not with the way it is right now.

If you don't care enough to respect the country which you're living you're not worthy of staying in that country. As simple as that. You do not own this country or India for that matter, learn to respect the people and culture of the country you're staying in. Keeping aside Canadia's vices, we always have to remember that this land is our home for the number of years we're studying here. If you wouldn't do something it in your own home, you shouldn't do anywhere else. It's because of people like these all the Indians receive hate. People like me who genuinely care about education and respect the Canadian Culture suffer. Although I am glad that most of the Canadians that I have came across till now have been able to understand how different I am from the bad experiences they've had in the past and treat me well. How is the government failing immigrants? Why move to another country if you don't have money to begin with? If your goal when moving to another country is receiving governement checks then you shouldn't be moving countries. They failed themselves by not adequately preparing themselves for such a big move in life. Moving countries costs a lot of money, doing so without proper funds is just foolhardy and they are to blame, not the government.

US/Canada both suffered due to the blockade at Ambassador Bridge. As a long haul Trucker, I couldn't work and I was forced to stay home because of those Convoy thugs.
