Its the same law in usa. Asylum can be granted to anyone that enters the country, legally or illegally. Not saying this system isnt abused. There are obviously people who lie and get asylum based on fraud. But to those people who legitimately came to Canada, usa or other western countries based on actual risk to their life from the govt i think its not really a bad thing to welcome them. People who commit fraud should obviously be deported tho.

They will get stopped at the border and be asked for documents to enter- I’m not understanding the bus schemes you are talking about! Generally if you cross the territory of another country none can stop you from using the transportation available in that country the drivers are not in the wrong here and are not obligated to check the passengers for a visa. Mostly entering from Canada are Indians, as they were not able to get a US visa from India so ultimately, this has become the easiest route for them to cross even on foot due to less law enforcement presence In those border crossing areas Like Winnipeg, etc

Also remember that many illegal immigrants, asylum seekers and refugees simply walked from the northern states of the USA across Canada's border into Canada and Canada got stuck with them too. Having to house them and feed them etc because Canada couldn't sent them back because of some international law. I was born in Canada in the 80s. My parents are from India. So call me racist if it gets you off. Last few year they where doing the opposite, crossing from NY to Quebec. Migrants from the US would enter the canadian border on foot. It's a total shitshow. We need to set a north US&Canada task force to standardize our rules, then process&evaluate their case in a week then kick them out ASAP. For 8 years, migrants have entered USA from its southern border, prob. from Central America, then bussed to New York, then put into taxi's at New York and driven at Roxham Road into Canada.
